Would give 5 stars for the product itself. Smooth, fine ice and tons of flavors to choose from. However the chicks they have working there may just have permanent brain freezes since 2 x I have come they have all been horrible. Slow in devices, mouths hanging open or chewing gum like a 5 yr old and seem like they are being bothered when you step up to window to order. Come on ladies it’s the easiest job you will EVER have so smile and have at least a little pep in your step!

Sno springs on barton springs is a must to avoid the worst customer service seemed like it was his first hr on the job out of hundreds of flavors he was out of 80. Could not remember the order and when he was out of what I wanted he just made whatever instead then charged 2 dollars more then it was suppose to be.

When you need to turn that frown upside down, mozy on over to Sno Springs! It was a Saturday. It was hot. I was hungover. I wanted a cupcake. Along came Sno Springs! The Sno maker made me a delicious Red Velvet snocone! It was just so exciting to get this tasty treat! My friend added some condensed milk to the top of hers… muy fancy. The ice is freshly snowed with a really cool old school machine that has a hand crank. Whoever was crankin that day sure was easy on the eyes. :) A massive one was 2 bucks. Gotta love a cheap thrill.

I’m a person who maintains habits. On Mondays I wear a suit; on Wednesdays I eat spinach salad; on Sundays I go swimming and eat a sno cone.(It’s like a personal rule from Memorial Day-Labor Day.) And I’ve been pretty loyal to Sno Beach, but I’m not OCD – I can switch sno cone stands once in a while, especially to avoid a line on a hot day. Sno Springs has shaved ice quality and syrup variety on par with Sno Beach and Casey’s Sno Balls(but the syrup portion is a lot more reasonable here than at Casey’s). The menu offers all the standbys like Tiger Blood, Lime, Pina Colada, etc, but also includes some I haven’t seen elsewhere. Some unique flavor options I can recall are red velvet cake, cherimoya, champagne, and tiramisu. The friendly employees were happy to provide samples and to describe the flavors, and since there was no line, I went ahead and took advantage of that. After eating practically the equivalent of a small sno cone in samples, I settled on ½ cherimoya, which tasted a lot like custard, and ½ berry, which tasted like berries. The sound flavor combo and the finely shaved ice made for an enjoyable treat; however, the use of a funnel make the top«cone» portion created some structural instability and packed the ice a bit too much on top. If a friend wanted to go here, I wouldn’t deter him. And if Sno Beach had a ridiculous line, I would go here. But it’s not my favorite.

Being a little grumpy, I went shopping to brighten my mood — FAIL(save for a couple sweet deals at Victoria’s Secret). I walked to my car in frustration and just as I stepped up next to it, FAIL, gum… the bottom of my heels now covered in bubble gum. Grrrrr, I mean I literally grrrrred outloud. Despite my efforts to mitigate the damage, bubble gum got all over my pedals, thus making it a little more difficult for me to drive. So my grumpiness increased. But while driving home I noticed this little snow-cone trailer. It called out to me – this is what I needed to brighten my day(either that or it was my stomach growling at me since I had yet to eat breakfast or lunch by this time). They had a very decent variety of flavors and were super generous on allowing me to sample some. Creamy Wedding Cake was my choice — wow, it was super sweet, but tasted just like a truly upscale cake. There was some type of «cream» layered on top of the snow-cone, which tasted similar to whipped cream. The ice texture may be a little too hard/crunchy for some, but for me it was perfect. Thanks to its hardness, it survived the ride back to my apartment without melting. SUCCESS! After my $ 1.25, wedding cake, snow cone, my spunk had returned. I barely even noticed that some dirt, leaves, and sticks had attached themselves to the gum on the bottom of my shoe. I savored every last bite, and props to them for providing me with a cute, pink bendy straw :) I will be back soon — to try out their red velvet cake flavor… mmmm

I am not sure what New Orleans style snocone/balls are… but these sno-cones, shaved ice, snoball(whatever you want to call it!) were pretty good! Some very inventive flavors and I really liked the topping choices. Good fluffy ice, and perfect ice to flavoring ratio. Even though I was there on grand opening day and received mine for free — if I were in the area, I would pay for one of these! Right next to Zilker and Barton Springs — so it would be a nice cool down after hanging out at these locations.
