Her background in psychology has helped her to approach each client as an individual and it has made her more sensitive to their needs to feel confident with their style. In 2006 she fulfilled a life long dream by opening a fashionable women’s clothing store, Soigné’ Boutique. Soigné’ Boutique was an instant success winning multiple fashion and retail awards. In 2007, Amy opened a men’s clothing store, Slate Men’s Apparel. Both stores received high praise by local media outlets and were featured many times on News 8 Austin-​Fashionable 8 series, The Austin Chronicle and The Austin American Statesman. Amy was also recognized for her commitment to fashion in 2009 and 2010 as she was named to the top 50 influential people in fashion for Austin as reported by The Austin American Statesman.
