We brought what appeared to be a simple civil issue to Attorney Emily Rickers. Well, it turned out to be much more complex than we thought. I can’t go into details, BUT — we were very lucky to have Emily on our side. She went way above and beyond handling our case — both legal and with our frustration with the opposing side. She was thoughtful, professional, knowledgeable, and tough (and patient with her clients). Her staff was thorough and helpful. She prepared us personally as well as she prepared her case, and I would not hesitate recommending her.

Made an initial appointment with James McDermott, received confirmation and directions via email, was then called just a few hours before the appointment saying he was not going to be able to make our meeting AND was not willing to reschedule. The assistant gave me the number of another lawyer entirely. I am in a time crunch and already had to wait two days for this appointment. Now I will be waiting even more time to talk to this other lawyer, who I don’t even know anything about. Horrible customer service.

What a letdown. I was excited to work with Marshall Thompson as he appeared to care about the case. Communication was terrible. Great in person, then terrible after with no response to emails, didn’t return phone calls, etc. His assistant would sometimes communicate, but that was often after multiple attempts at contact. He dropped the ball big-​time and didn’t file some paperwork in a timely manner — he himself had stressed the importance of the timing. No explanation given. Upon being fired, the response was pretty much «sorry it didn’t work out». Waste of time and I’m extremely shocked and disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I had high hopes of working with him and don’t know if he was just too busy and wouldn’t admit it, or why he dropped the ball.

I had a free consultation with, Emily Rickers. She listened to my issue and helped explain a property tax situation that saved me much grief. I didn’t end up needing legal help but the free consultation was very helpful. Many thanks!

When I showed up for my first meeting with Carlos Salinas, I was pretty scared and intimidated at the thought of what lay ahead of me as I prepared for a divorce. He listened to me with compassion and by the time I left that first meeting, I felt confident that I’d found the right person to work with. He was very understanding, helpful, and efficient, and with the help of Mr. Salinas I was able to sleep, knowing he was knowledgable with the laws and procedures. Attorney Emily Rickers is my go to woman and awesome attorney in austin texas. I found myself in a desperate situation to release liens attached to my 1^st mortgage that would really make refinancing my mortgage difficult. With Emily’s help we got those liens released and i was able to refinance my home at a lower rate. She was very understanding in my situation and very professional in the manner it was handled. Marshall was recommended to me by a colleague who knew of his work. I worked with him for almost 6 months and I can honestly say he is an all-​in lawyer who truly cares about his client. I was in a stressful situation with a client who refused to pay for damages to an apartment. During our very first telephone conversation, Emily immediately put my mind at ease. She walked me through the process we’d use to try to recover the damages, and took the appropriate steps to reach a settlement with which I was satisfied.
There was a bump in the road when Emily found that my client had no legal representative in TX to «serve,» but she researched how to serve an out-​of-​state company via the Secretary of State and the notification was sent the following day. I was very impressed with how quickly she responded.
Overall, the process took 4 months, and my company was able to recover most of the damages assessed. Emily was professional, courteous, and effective at a time when I and my company really needed some solid legal help to recover damages I couldn’t afford to lose.
I hope I never have to hire another attorney, but if I do I’m calling Emily first.
