More than 30 years ago, Juan and Margo Portillo packed their bags in San Francisco and moved to Austin, Texas to start a different kind of Travel Management Company. Tramex was started to deliver a personal approach to corporate travel management. Today, Tramex offers innovative travel solutions to our clients, we have evolved into a trusted advisor with most of our clients that are looking to add value based solutions and cost savings to their organizations. Thank the stars for Cynthia from Tramex. She was SO, SO helpful and such a delight to work with. I approached her with general ideas for a Bachelorette trip for 8 ladies and ended up deciding on a resort and booking for all 8 ladies thru Tramex.

Cindy and tramex travel is the best!!! My husband said that he wanted a «hut on the beach», «just like the movies». Cindy found it for us … Matachica Resort in Belize. She was so patient with all of our requests, and changing our mind a million times. I would give her and the agency six stars if I could. Highly recommend!!!

We used Viji @ Tramex to plan our honeymoon. The reason we wanted to use an agency was that we did not really know where to go and did not feel confident we would find the right country for our trip, much less the correct hotel/​resort. Viji was quickly able to shoot down some of our first ideas since we would have been going to the destination during the wrong season! She found us a great place and everything was awesome. We will use her again in the future to help get us going on another trip.

First and last time I use a travel agency. They are not very helpful at all in my opinion, and they don’t stand behind what they sell you. I paid for a trip to Europe and many things went wrong on the trip that they «booked» and I paid for. When I asked for some kind of reimbursement, I was given the run around, and never got anything back.

Dalia Nuernberger has been our travel agent for 11 years and she has arranged and booked the two biggest and BEST trips we’ve ever taken — our honeymoon and our 10 year anniversary trip, as well as other wonderful vacations! Although we seem to always be on a tight budget, she is amazing at working within our budget. She narrows down our many options and gives us choices, and she remembers our preferences and finds options that we absolutely love. She is friendly, personable, professional, knowledgeable, and gives us excellent advice and tips for the areas we are travelling. We very highly recommend her!!!

I needed help finding a luau for my upcoming trip to Kona and Marisol, an agent here, was excellent. Not only did she provide options and gather opinions from people who have been to Kona, but she provided information about additional activities in the area that I might like. Very helpful and it took seconds to book with her.

I was looking for a professional (and friendly!) travel agent to help me coordinate our family vacation. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Corbitt to discuss our plans, the budget, and timeline. I wasn’t set on any tropical vacation in particular… just a nice beach with all inclusive, so Ms. Corbitt took our list of requirements and offered suggestions for resorts matching our wants. She was very informative about the vacation destinations and activities we were interested in experiencing. She was able to book the hotel, air, & car service so we didn’t have any worries. She also showed us some options for saving since our dates were flexible! As far as our resort went, she gave us some cool excursion ideas, so we could have activities planned for the different personalities in our group. I was very satisfied with the professional communication from Tramex, and I am comfortable relying on them for next year’s vacation.

I tried e-​mailing the address on the website and it bounced back. Then I called to speak to someone about assisting my parents with flight arrangements and was put through to someone’s voicemail. More than 24 hours later, I haven’t gotten a call back. My mom tried calling them as well and they were extremely rude. So, we’re going with a different travel agency.

I used to love them. I used them 4 – 5 times a year for 5 years and was very pleased. I was only steered wrong once. That was when I traveled to exotic locations and stayed in 5 star hotels. I asked fo help scheduling some more affordable trips and just general information about destinations and got lackluster to no response. If you’re rich, expect great service.

I’ve booked several vacations through this group… Much less uncertainty then booking online and very similar pricing. Also, each agent is well traveled and can give great tips on places to stay away from and places that are a «must see»…I’ve had good, great and horrible experiences booking online… I’ve only had great experiences with Tramex.
