Established in 1985.

Since 1985 Bland Solar & Air has been leading the industry in Kern County as «The Experts in Solar & Air».

In 2014 Mr. Bland opened the only Solar Showroom in the Central Valley featuring 5,000 sq. ft. of the latest innovations and technology. There is roof-​racking/​solar panels installed on actual composite, tile, slate, and aluminum roofs. Interactive kiosks that demonstrate how to achieve maximum efficiency when connecting solar photovoltaic panels to the main electrical panel. The kids are invited too, as there is a special «Kids Zone» area equipped with movie videos, toys, and more.

Researched the benefits of solar for at least 5 years before pulling the trigger. Bland Solar is your only real Bakersfield solar company. If you’ve never had 5 star service get ready. Marlene & Tony Morales will treat you like family. Alex and Jose installed my solar panels with attention to detail and professionalism. My meter is going backwards. New AC unit was also installed those guys worked their butts off making sure we had a comfortable home before the summer heat wave. Thank you for investing into your employees. It shows in the level of service I recieved. Even DCU was a pleasure to talk too. Folks don’t let those other solar guys treat you like PG&E. My parents did their research n thought this was the Best place to get their solar my dad told them he wanted a 15 year plan because he planned on paying it off sooner they told him we can only offer a 20 he said listen I want a 15 yr or no deal they actual told my dad then sorry we can’t…this company is only about the profit not about helping families!!! DONT USE

Bland Solar’s service is excellent. Every person I dealt with went out of his or her way to be professional, kind, and patient. Tony was my salesman, and went out of his way – multiple times to explain the benefits of solar. Each time an appointment was scheduled, the appointment was kept – ON TIME – and each person exemplified professionalism.

Loving Bland solar. I am an engineer here in town and I purchased a partial system today. Perez was very helpful and patient. He is an honest guy and a vet too. He fully explained my options and was not overselling me. I met the owner today and he is super nice. Regular guy genuinely interested in helping people. I had a really difficult design and I feel like I got the optimal placement and panel type. I am so excited about getting it installed I can’t wait to put my money to work for me. It’s not earning much in the bank. I think I got the system at the optimal time in history considering tax credits and net metering and panel technology. Time will tell.

Such great sevice. Dan the Solar Man, showed us how to do the math to compare all the different offers for cost to value and they were the best. They have been great in service before, during, and after installation.
We had great communications with the office, the installers and the salesman. I would recommend them to my best friend.
We added solar and changed our air conditioning from 2006 with a seer of 13 to a seer of 18 and now we can afford to keep our house cool.
The HVAC people came out and changed our ducting, by adding some new, enlarging some, fixing long runs and the price stayed the same as the quote. Out system is now so efficient that PGE are paying us, feels good!

Purchased my solar system from them. I had 2 other bids and Bland had the best price. Gary Summers was my salesman and was great. Never pushy and genuinely interested in making sure I purchased a system that was right for our home.
A year later we purchased a new home in town. I called Gary about my situation to my surprise found out they could move my system to my new home. The relocation went without a hitch. In fact, I also had a new roof go in at the new home right before escrow closed and they coordinated with the roofer to get all the solar flashing down before the new roof went in. Completely satisfied with their level of service and workmanship.

Bland Solar is your best bet when you are wondering who to go to for solar! Why? Because this is a big investment, and we wanted to go with someone with many years of experience in the industry, dependability, with a team of sales associates, installers, and finance people who can be trusted to do a great job, and leave us happy with our decision. Leasing a solar system makes no sense at all (especially when selling a home). We decided to go with Bland Solar and use the HERO program for financing.
We had great communication with the Bland team during the decision process, the purchase, and the installation. The installation was done promptly and flawlessly, and they worked quickly to get us hooked up with the power company to begin shrinking our energy bill. We decided to go with a number of panels that would maximize the savings from PG&E. Our bill was $ 690 in June, $ 5 in July, and $ 19 in August, so it is obvious that we will get a return on our investment in short time.
I have already referred many friends and business associates to the business – I am sure they will be more than happy with Bland Solar.

Call someone else! I had these guys service my swamp cooler in March. The unit started overflowing from the pan in early August. The tech went out and couldn’t find anything wrong other than some mold from the pads that he said was blocking the drain. I told him I had replaced the pads 3 times in the last year and they keep getting moldy. He said he didn’t know why and couldn’t find anything wrong. Three weeks later it started overflowing AGAIN and this time leaked through the roof and caused major water damage inside. They sent a tech out again and he again couldn’t find anything wrong. REALLY? Here I am 24 hours, two $ 89 service calls, and three phone calls later and my unit still isn’t fixed and I can’t get anyone to call me back with an explanation (or how about offering to replace the float regulator, idiots!). Now I have to pay for someone who knows what they are doing to come out! So frustrating, these guys suck.

I am disappointed with my Bland solar experience, Things started out well and had a smooth instillation till a few days later when the inverter stopped working. A call to the service dept. brought several tech’s out who couldn’t find the problem and after speaking with the office indicated to me that a new inverter would need to be installed and it would take a week or more to receive the new one from the manufacturer. This was somewhat unsettling since I just received a letter in the mail making more or less a demand for final payment. The letter was poorly worded and a PR disaster and not to say an insult to a customer since the job was not completed. Taking into consideration what had happen, I was offered a generous stipend to appease these matters. After I thought every thing was taken care of with the re-​installation, several weeks went by with out hearing from anyone at Bland. I had to call and tell someone that I never received final instruction on how the system works, how to read the system information from my cell phone. and what to expect from PG&E. The call prompted a tech to be sent out the next day and brought me up to date on all these matters. I do want to comment on the tech’s who did the solar installation, they were first class professional individuals. I’m not sure if there is any thing further to discuss with Bland, but it has been silent at there end and that’s odd after someone just spent a great deal of money with them.

I have found the service from Bland after the install of my system (in regards to dealing with equipment malfunction) has been very poor. I post very few things on Unilocal but my particular situation deserves mentioning. I’ve had a dis functional inverter for several months. A repair has been made and then it subsequently failed again. Throughout the repair process multiple deadlines were missed and the follow up was horrible on their part. It was a constant hand holding process which required constant contact by me. I have faith that eventually everything will be made right by Bland but they need a serious game change in the service department if they want to compete long term in this very competitive market.
Follow up to this review. Our system continues to have issues (inverter) and I’m constantly having to follow up with the service tech to get estimates on repair. Same story as before… horrible service after the install.

I finally did it. After years of researching solar, I finally took the plunge with Bland Solar. Living in a two-​story home with a pool & spa is an expensive proposition in Bakersfield, CA. Thanks to the professionals at Bland Solar & Air, my latest bill from PG&E was $ 4.58. During the summer months our bill could exceed $ 800 per month, so this was a welcomed relief. Visit their solar showroom and work with professional, informative consultants who can assist you with the right system for your home or business. Everyone from the owner to the installation crew are top notch at Bland Solar. We live in the sunshine, so use it to your advantage.

I cannot say enough good things about Bland Solar. After two years of researching and interviewing several companies, Bland was by far the most interested and eager to earn our business but never once pressured us for a decision. Bland Solar & Air is top notch in many ways and it starts at the top with the owner Glenn Bland. He is a big supporter of CSUB Athletics and especially wrestling. Wrestling has continued as a sport at CSUB in large part due to Glenn Bland and his generous donations to support the wrestling program. He has donated over $ 200,000 to help fund the program over the last few years.
Glenn is a local guy (North HS) who gives back to the community. Thank you for saving CSUB Wrestling!
