Quality Inn & Suites

Yea… not staying here no more. Have been exploring options and have stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for the past year. Came back to quality inn because we had a free night to use. ROACHES! will NEVER ever stay here again!

Nice and clean but horrible odor
I got nauseous and can’t get a sleep
The lobby smells good, the front desk was nice. It would have been a good stay but the room smells so bad.

Honestly the worst customer service I have ever received ANYWHERE! The general manager was rude, and would not provide me with their corprate phone number (because he knew he was rude) when I confronted him with my problem.
I had to give at least 1 star to write this review, but honestly would have preferred to give zero stars due to the incompitence of the way this hotel is being managed.
I travel a lot, and I will sleep in my car before checking into another Choice Hotels again.

I would give it a 0 if that was possible. The room’s latch won’t turn off and the guy is really bad at listening at all. Avoid if you can!

5 star everything. From cleanliness to customer service. Located right off the freeway, which is a definite plus

I like this hotel. The price is pretty good and the location is great. I’ve stayed here twice in the last few weeks.
Check in is fast and easy. Both times the staff have been casual and friendly. I got my key and room assigned without any hassle. There is plenty of parking and it seems relatively secure.
The room is small but clean. It was a little cold when I stayed there and the heater worked great. There was plenty of soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the room.
Breakfast is in the restaurant across the parking lot. It is complimentary and I liked it a lot. There are eggs and either sausage or bacon. Also there is cereal, milk, juice, and a variety of bread, bagels, and pastries.
I would have given it 4 stars but the wifi conked out for two of the nights I was there and that was a bummer.

Bed bugs! Need I say more??? We stayed there 2 nights and couldn’t figure out what the little red spots (in a line) were until one of us found out we were allergic to bed bug bites. Be careful!

I stayed at the Quality Inn for 3 nights and I absolutely regret ever staying here. I will never go back to this place again. I was charged almost $ 600 on my card due to authorization holding fees. When I saw all these pending charges on my bank account I immediately went back to the hotel after checking out and try fixing this matter. Not only was I giving the run-​around but they couldn’t see any of these transaction on their part. It’s been almost 2 weeks and I still haven’t been able to resolve this matter. Save the hassle and stay somewhere else.

Booked this because my husband and I had a continuing education class in the area. We drove in from Las Vegas pretty late since we were told there was nothing in Bakersfield and that it was a «cholo town» (not my words). Sad to say, my acquaintance was right. We checked in at around 11 pm and the guy in the front was extremely rude. Didn’t bother getting his name since he was just irritating but he was wearing some stupid newspaper boy hat. We were given one room key and were directed to our room. Elevator was extremely stinky. I hate cigarette smoke and I felt like I was in a cloud of it. Though we were on the 3^rd floor, we walked up and down the stairs the rest of our stay to avoid the smoky smell.
Our room was very small but it was very clean and a housekeeper came in everyday to make the bed, tidy up the place and take out the trash.
Only thing I didn’t like was that there was not even a mini fridge and/​or microwave in the room. Thank goodness there was a walmart close by and we bought our lunches and dinners there from the deli.
There was a free breakfast in a small restaurant next to the hotel. Nothing spectacular. Eggs with potatoes, bacon, toast, bagels, oatmeal, and some breakfast pastures such as Danishes and muffins. There was also coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and some juices. The food was hot and fresh so can’t complain. Wish they had fresh fruit but it’s free so it’s whatever.
If we are ever in Bakersfield again, we wouldn’t mind staying there. Not likely though. We like exploring when we go out of town. Not much to explore there haha.

RUN, do no walk, away from this dank, dirty and dreary place!!!
I booked myself a room here for a five-​night stay while in town visiting family. I had just had the worst travel day of my life, I’d been up for 24 hours, and all I wanted to get to my room and lay down. i was so exhausted, I would have turned a blind eye to some minor issues, and I would have been so OK with «basic.» But no. I check in to this place, get to my room and find it completely and utterly uninhabitable. Stained furniture. Dimly lit interior and parking lot. 80+ degrees in the room and the AC not on. AND THE SMELL!!? Seriously?
HOW DOES THIS PLACE HAVE FAVORABLE REVIEWS?
I walked in, looked around, and found an outlet to plug in my phone — because I knew I was about to be on the phone with Expedia for an hour to get a refund and book another hotel. I ended up at the Hilton Garden Inn for a moderate upgrade fee.
I turned my key in to the otherwise friendly front desk guy and asked him if HE would stay in a place like this. He didn’t answer me.
Let me make a suggestion: Panhandle, donate blood, borrow from your Uncle Doug, pawn something, or go shake what your mama gave you somewhere to raise the extra $ 35 you need to stay in a nice, clean room at another hotel.
Unless you’re just a really bad person, you don’t deserve to spend time in this hole.

This place was a great place to stay for one night on a road trip. The room was clean, but did have a lot of furniture crammed into a small place. The bathroom was clean, but the toilet took a few flushes to actually work each time the bathroom was used. Overall I felt pretty comfortable. The continental breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, cereal, and juices. It was a pretty great stay.

Stayed on a Thursday night in mid-​March.
Q Bed: Rest assured with premium bedding
*Absolutely firm, fresh linens, absolutely no bugs.
*Room is dirty in very small places, but you have to look for them (e.g. under the metal piece at the front of the tub). Otherwise totally satisfactory.
Q Breakfast: Hot, fresh and healthy
*A little disappointing — 2 types of cereal, cooked eggs/​sausages, fruit, bagels, tiny muffins, milk/​juice/​coffee. Not very healthy and seemed lackluster, but it’s included in the price, served next door, and is open from 6 – 10. Very satisfactory.
Q Shower: A refreshing start to your day
*Took awhile to figure out (you have to spin the nozzle, I thought I was unscrewing a part), but very warm and comfortable. Excellent supply of toiletries.
Q Service: Professional, responsive and friendly
*They don’t even need to know your confirmation number — just your name. Front desk clerk happily gave me the type of room I requested. Info about all relevant items (check out time, breakfast time, etc) provided up front.
Q Value: Free high-​speed Internet, coffee, tea and other amenities
*Blazing fast wifi cable internet (8gpbs), room had iron/​ironing board. Would be better if room had a microwave/​fridge, but you can’t have everything, and the iron is probably more important if you’re just there for business.
*15% off lunch/​dinner at the restaurant next door (the same one where you get breakfast)
Other: parking lot is wide open and well lit. I parked next to the street in front of the hotel and had no issues. There is a break room for guests on the 2^nd floor with a pool table and communal fridge overlooking the pool. A few guests were pretty loud in there up until 8−9pm or so, but after that I had absolutely no noise issues whatsoever.
Summary
*I had considered some motels for $ 40 – 45 a night, but after reading horror stories about shady characters and bugs, I decided an extra $ 5 (total $ 50) was worth the hope that I would get a good room. I got a great room and had a great stay. It’s not perfect, and it isn’t the Ritz, but for someone who wants to save money while staying at a very decent place before getting back on the road, I wholeheartedly recommend this motel.

I am glad I found this hotel to break up my drive from Southern to Northern California. It is located right off highway 99 and next to a gas station. The rooms are super clean and the grounds are nice. The beds are comfortable and there is a even a pool and hot tub outside to relax in after a long drive. Excellent fast and free wifi too. The most surprising part of the hotel was the free breakfast buffet at a restaurant next door. You can get hot eggs and sausage too. This beats any other motel breakfast. I would highly suggest staying here, especially for the value in price.

Pleasant and polite staff. Clean and well kept grounds. Basic, but clean and well maintained rooms. Decent price, although the noise from the freeway will disturb some who are light sleepers.

We usually stay in nicer actual hotels (I would rate this a motel), but I’m still giving it a 5 star based on the price & the fact it had everything we needed.
Just needed a fast option to sleep good, as we rolled in at 11pm & needed sleep to continue our drive, and for $ 55, it fit our needs:

* Comfy enough bed
*. Clean enough

Love it! I stayed there for a week and everything was soooo clean and nice! The front desk workers were so sweet and helpful!!! I totally recommend everyone to stay here :)

I’m here for a business trip. Service here is ok. The room is whatever. They didn’t put soap. Im glad I brought some. They hold onto a certain amount of money incase of damages but the room I’m in has a old school giant box TV that clearly took a roundhouse from norris to the upper right corner.
My room also smells like it was the studio for a Hi karate, drakar commercial. Starring Charlie Murphy. Do they even use the money to fix or get new stuff? There’s some random ass lamp in the corner. 4 ft away from another lamp. But you can’t get to the lamp cause there’s the chair. Forgot to mention, you can hear everything lol. Someone showering, having a convo 2 doors down etc lol.
Some idiot there in the office is screwing up the «free» Internet. «Quality sales office», you don’t need to be up. Use the pword for «quality front desk». Apparently this is a daily ritual.
Just pass on the free breakfast. When I say pass, I mean run motherfucker run!

Reasonably priced, modest rooms! We stay here on average 2 times a week from Jan to April, and about 2 – 3 a month the rest of the year.
The beds are very nice and comfortable and it is one of the best values in the area. I won’t spend $ 80+ on a room (I’m cheap), and this is a nice hotel and doesn’t have the less savory element that Motel 6 off of California experiences.
It’s not fancy and parts of it are a bit tired but when you factor in a free hot breakfast and quiet surroundings it’s a value conscious gem!
Staff are very polite and quick.

My issues are as follows
The place is old and outdated, the carpet was filthy, there were cracks in the plaster on the walls, you could see where the ceiling had leaked by the water stains running down the wall, the deadbolt on the door wouldn’t lock, I actually braced the door closed with the coffee table. There was a long brown hair on the pillow… sigh…
The «restaurant» next door… not what it appears, more of a dive bar. The free breakfast was next door at the restaurant… it was free and the coffee was hot… not much else to say. This hotel caters to a lot of bus trips so beware, there are a lot of people wandering around.
Thank goodness this was just a pit stop for us on the road to Las Vegas
Will not stay here again, go down the road a bit, lots of nicer places down there

This isn’t the best Quality Inn that I’ve ever stayed in, but it also wasn’t the worst. The hotel seems to be in a somewhat sketchy area… but if you’re in the mood for a strip club, there is one right down the road (bonus?)
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The rest of the room was fine, nothing spectacular. For a one-​night stay in Bakersfield, this place is relatively close to the highway and worked for me.
