Barks and Blooms

I booked their petsitting service last minute, not wanting to board my 6-​month old kitten and never having used services like this before. They went out of their way to schedule someone. Booking them again for this weekend and leaving the dog at home as well instead of paying for him to be boarded at the vet. Jen and Erin are the best! And VERY affordable compared to the vet or dogtopia…

Terrible! I wouldn’t use this facility on a bet. It was unclean, the gal at the desk (Mary Francis) was incredibly snotty and acted as if she was doing us a favor by letting our dog stay there. I did not get a good vibe from her or the facilities. Thankfully before we dropped our dog off we found a good friend to keep her overnight. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! And Mary Francis, if you read this, get over yourself, if you want to keep clients you really need to adjust your attitude.

Two or three weeks after we adopted our dog, we brought her here a couple of times for weekend stays. The first time was a test visit and the supervisors reviewed our dog positively and said she would be a good fit to stay there again. So we brought her again, no problems. The third time, however, was a huge issue. My boyfriend brought her in to the lobby and was signing paperwork at the desk. My dog was still leashed, since they couldn’t let her in without the paperwork done. The desk worker had her un-​leashed dog there in the lobby, separate from all the other dogs in the adjacent room. He approached my dog in a manner that my dog must not have liked, because she ended up biting the dog’s ear. Even though the altercation was not fully witnessed and my dog was leashed (making her extremely wary and defensive when this much larger dog approached her), the owner slapped us with the FULL vet bill which was very expensive compared to the damage. I do not think this was fair since the desk worker’s dog should not have been in the lobby and my boyfriend was not even able to monitor our dog’s behavior since he was preoccupied with paperwork. We had politely asked the business owner sensible questions about the bill and the contract we signed, which were met with rudeness, threats, and a seize mentality for the money we owed. Nevertheless, we promptly paid the bill in full. Our dog was banned from the establishment, not that we would ever want to venture near there with her again.

This place is amazing! The owners, Colleen Mary Francis take individual interest in each dog that comes through the doors. My Bo goes a couple times a month to there daycare program and has done a long weekend in there boarding program. One of my favorite things about Barks is that they don’t use cages. I feel better knowing my baby is in there care.

I truly love the ladies at B&B! Nÿx (my Great Dane) isn’t spayed get so she cannot go to puppy daycare yet, however after speaking with Colleen and Mary Francis, they recommended we try using their dog walker service. Heather (our walker) is a dream and we could not be happier! I feel good knowing that our pup is getting love, attention, and exercise while we are at work. Nÿx seems to love her as much as we do.

Our neighbor ditched us at last minute before a our week long vacation and we would have had to cancel our plans if it were not for Barks & Blooms. Mary Frances responded very quickly and she came twice a day to feed the cats and put eye drops on one of them with an eye infection. She even braved my hissing cat who was not happy with a stranger putting drops in his eye, and when we came back the cats were happy, well fed and the eye was cured. Mary Frances took pictures of the cat and sent them to me, so I could follow the progress of his eye infection. Ah! And she picked up our mail too! I recommend this agency and in particular Mary Frances hands down
