Civilization Systems is the first worker owned information technology services company in Baltimore. Our aim is to create a cooperatively run organization that allows experienced IT professionals to serve the technology needs of local businesses, non-​profits, coops and schools in a democratic, nurturing, and fun environment. As importantly, we strive to help anyone interested in information technology, social justice, economic justice or democratic workplaces gain the skills, experience, and resources they need to accomplish their goals.

Business Owner

Ian S. is the founder and COO of the Baltimore City information technology, web development and digital /​social media company Civilization Systems LLC. This small cooperatively run business, consisting of roughly a half dozen professional information workers, proudly helps schools, non-​profits, startups, small businesses and other cooperatives in the Chesapeake area.

Ian is a seasoned and accomplished Information Technology and Security professional.
