Value Village Thift Store

I drop off a lot of things here and always see a lot folks shopping. I have found shoes and some brand name jeans.

Visted this store and have nothing but good things to say. Staff professional, quality merchandis and most of all found things that I like at a reasonable price. I would recommend this thrift store without any reservation.

This is a for-​profit business, not a non-​profit like Goodwill or Salvation Army.
As this is for-​profit, I would consider it a vintage store. As a vintage store, it is terrible. Dirty, stinky, expensive. They also have the audacity to «accept» donations. Ask for a form to write off your donations on your taxes and they can’t give you one. Because you have just given your clothes to a company! You wouldn’t drop off your used things at Marshall’s for them to resell, or even a «vintage store” – why would you do so here?
This company is taking advantage of true non-​profit thrift stores. Please be a good person and don’t support this business.

A smörgåsbord of useful items for all your everyday needs… I 1^st visited the location in Bowie, Md then realized I had my own VVTS only a few miles from my house. ( Unilocal Search, I want to personally thank you for this discovery!!)
The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it almost threw me off. Sad to say, but 2^nd hand shops tend to skimp when it comes to friendly efficient staff, but they seem to have hired the cream of the crop!
All items are color coded and the gentleman who rung me up said they offer half off a different color each week (Sun– Sat.) The 2 colors on sale the day of my visit was white & pink– Of course I had nothing tagged white or pink in my hand, my items were both green tagged– Regardless, my shirt was 2.98 and the scarf was .90– so trust me, at those prices, I still wasn’t complaining!
Now for those gals much like myself who raid grandma’s closet for bags and jewelry, this is the place for you. But dont sell yourself short gals, they also have appliances (blow dryers, flat irons) — books and lightly used toys, shoes, blazers, jackets, jeans even coats– Guys we havent forgotten about ya! There’s sweaters, blazers, full suits for work, I even saw a few Jos A. Bank shirts that looked like they have yet to see the light of day.
+1 for Organization: In most areas of the store everything was separated by size (instead of being thrown all together for you the consumer to have to dig one by one for fear of overlooking a gem!) Kudos to VVTS

I live around the corner so I come in here three times a week. Hands down the most friendly staff I’ve encountered in a thrift store. Genuinely happy to see you and happy to help. The selection of items can be bleak sometimes, but at least this Value Village has kept their prices low. You can still get shirts and tops for $.99 instead of a whooping $ 4.90-$ 6.90 at other Value Villages. Even though its small and parking can be a pain — it’s a still a great little thrift store.

This was probably the saddest thrift shop I’ve ever been in, and I’ve visited a lot of thrift shops. The merchandise was just so bad, and the smell — godawful. Here’s what they’ve got, in case you’re interested:
Broken and greasy electric can openers
Pre-​stained men’s boxers
Danielle Steele paperbacks with the covers missing
Shoes that are missing their heels, buckles and laces
Burnt up pots and pans
Stained and torn sheets
2 stars for the crazy shit that was going down in the store. The cops were pulling up as I left.

The 3 stars are relative to other thrift stores. I don’t do alot of thrift store shopping, but for things like Halloween costumes, vintage T’s, etc, or just killing a fun afternoon, this place is great. The selection… varies, obviously, but is usually decent, and if yo’re willing to take the time, they usually have some great finds. I got a leather jacket here that I adore. It’s worth checking out if you’re around.
