We had an awesome time here. It’s not cheap, but not overly expensive. Everyone was friendly. The laser tag was very popular with the whole family. We will be returning.

Great place to adult skate on Sunday night. Other skaters are friendly and sociable. Fun to go when kids aren’t allowed. Music is kinda all over the place. Since there’s a variety of age groups I guess it would be. :)

My kids had a great time, lots of fun. I’m only giving it three stars though, because my son used his card loaded with money to get a prize. The man at the counter didn’t return the card, which had about $ 5 left on it. It makes me wonder if the workers have a racket going on.

Went here for a birthday party and couldn’t buy a water because I had no cash! Who carries cash anymore? Bad practice to make your customers buy $ 10 at the snack shake in order to use debit card. I will not be having any parties here in the future.

It was a rainy day and this place saved my sanity! It has everything you need to entertain any age child! I have a 6 month old, almost 3 year old and a six year old! I only spent 40 dollars and the kids got to play arcade games, mini golf, laser tag and bowl! (They also have go karts, number cars, roller skate rink and outdoor fun) Also their food is extremely cheap and not bad quality! I plan on retuning here as well has having my daughters birthday party!

When we came we received our cards (we couldn’t do any outdoor activities as it was pouring) and went to the party room to eat. The pizza was actually really good and every child got 2 triangle slices, which I think is a fair amount. For drinks there was only sprite and coke, and so for people like me who isn’t much of a sofa person I took sprite (suggestion: have water as an option!)
We started off with laser tag which is always fun, and then played some of their various arcade games.
My friend and I then ate some mozzarella sticks from the little food area near the bowling alley. They were good, but the sauce was in a commercial cup, so it wasn’t as presentable as I would have liked. I also asked for an ice water, and most places will give it to you for free with no problem, but here they charges $.25 which I find rather stupid for a cup of tap water and ice.

Went here (to the bowling alley) today for a fundraiser. This was a disaster from start to finish, and I’m not sure whose fault it was. I don’t know if it was Funway or the organizer of the fundraiser, but the Funway staff was not helpful to me personally, so I’ve got a problem with that. Looking at other reviews, it’s pretty clear that communication among staff members in this joint is pretty lackluster.
We were told to arrive at 2:45 for a 3:00 start, and that bowling would go until 5:30 or 3 games (I don’t know what that meant, whether it was bowling until 5:30 or 3 games, whichever comes first? I don’t know, and I wish I had been told that when we originally arrived). Anyway, at 5:10 PM, a message came on our screen saying that our time was about to end, and to see the front desk. So i did. They said that our pizza had been ready since 5:00. Uh… Whose fault is that? Anyway, someone somewhere screwed up communication. Long story short, they cut off my lane time at about 5:17 and my family and I weren’t able to finish our game. They later offered to credit us for shoes, but only one of us had rented shoes. In any event, we ended up getting charged $ 8.50. I’m not sure how that’s possible, because this was supposed to be a fundraiser. So I wonder how much the charity made off of that amount. In any universe, that’s hardly worth the charity’s time, and hardly worth Funway’s time. So that equates to a complete WASTE of time.
As if that wasn’t bizarre enough, the bartender was unfamiliar (somehow) with how to make a Shirley Temple/​Kiddie Cocktail. That was OK, I guess, as I instructed him on how to make it after he mistakenly used cranberry juice, which my niece wouldn’t drink. However, if you’re working the bar, you need to know how to make basic mixed drinks. I don’t think he was the usual bartender, but whoever made the decision to put him on bar made a terrible judgment call on that one. The guy wasn’t dressed like a bartender, he was dressed like a general Funway employee, so that’s not my major beef with the place. Maybe he was just asked to cover because he was over 21. I don’t know.
A little about me: I bowl pretty frequently at different bowling alleys, so I’m familiar with the fact that not every lane in every bowling alley bowls exactly the same. However, whatever they’re doing to their lanes here at Funway *REALLY* screws things up. I bowl about a 150 or 160 average. Here, I don’t think I broke 100 in either game, and that was after greatly modifying my throw to compensate for the totally different lane conditions.
So bowling alleys are going to be different, with different bowling surface textures/​grease patterns. FINE. But, you’re a bowling alley in a place called «FunWay,» which is *primarily* geared towards children, and you aren’t PREPARED FOR LARGE NUMBERS OF PARTIES WHO HAVE CHILDREN INCLUDED IN THOSE PARTIES, (I GUESS??), then you need to make some SERIOUS changes to your business model.
In our entire fundraising party, I believe we had 4 children young enough to not be able to bowl without the help of an adult or a bowling ramp (spread out between 2 lanes). If those 4 children are on the same lane, that isn’t a problem. But this place apparently only has 3 bowling ramps. We had 4 or 5 lanes total (including people who were just there to bowl with their family), where there was a definite need for bowling ramps. In order to attempt to accommodate the strangers, and to pay it forward, we decided to have my niece not use one of the ramps, but to allow one of the other families with smaller children use ours. The problem is, that means that she had to bowl in the only way she could, which was to roll the ball while sliding in, in kid-​kind of fashion. We were quickly reprimanded for that by a kid who was probably younger than 18, which I suppose is understandable from a liability standpoint. But the proper business owner/​manager response shouldn’t be to reprimand us for having to resort to having a 5 year old bowl without a bowling ramp. It’s to HAVE MORE THAN 3 BOWLING RAMPS IN YOUR BOWLING ALLEY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN FREQUENTLY HAVE PARTIES. That seems like COMMON SENSE to me.
Needless to say, I’ll never be back here. I guess next year I’ll just write a check to my friend for his charity, because it simply isn’t worth the aggravation of putting up with the deer-​in-​the-​headlights staff, a stand-​in bartender who doesn’t know what he’s doing (to his credit, he admitted it and apologized, so I don’t have anything personal against him). And it’s totally annoying when they shut off your lane IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR GAME. At least let me FINISH THE GAME before you turn it off.
I’ve had bad experiences like this, but never had one that made me regret coming out to support a good friend’s charity. Like I said, next year I’ll just write him a check. Ugh. Get your act together, Funway Bowling. This was straight-​up GARBAGE today.

We have had nothing but good experiences at Funway since we started taking my stepdaughter there in 2013. At that time, she earned a voucher for a free round of mini golf from the Geneva Public Library summer reading program, and so we went there to redeem her «win.» We were practically the only people there, and had a great time playing glow-​in-​the-​dark mini golf (on a slightly outdated, but very psychedelic indoor course). After golf, we played some of the arcade games, and she was thrilled to redeem her tickets for some small prizes.
The summer of 2014, our neighborhood experienced a roller blading boom, and it seemed every child under the age of 10 was skating. We started taking my stepdaughter to Funway’s open skate so she could learn how to skate. Open skate, by the way, is offered Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. Funway offers little «walkers» for kids who are a little unsteady on their feet, and that really helped our little one feel more comfortable. They also played popular music and games like Red Light, Green Light or Four Corners, which were fun as well.
It became clear though, that my stepdaughter was not going to learn how to skate on her own, and she was certainly not taking my advice or my husband’s! So we signed up for a few private lessons, which Funway offers for $ 20 per half-​hour. (Funway also offers group lessons, which cost $ 30 for four half-​hour lessons, obviously a better deal but unfortunately, the times did not fit into our schedule). A wonderful young man helped her figure out her footing and worked with her on balance. She learned a great deal in just two lessons, and we were thrilled with the instruction she received.
I do want to mention that we did not realize it was Christian family night, during which Funway plays Christian pop songs. While I think that is absolutely wonderful for people who are looking for a wholesome night of family entertainment, we are a Jewish family, so the songs were not exactly up our alley. It was no problem at all — we still had fun — but I would not go on a Thursday night again.

We’ve been here 3 times already and all 3 times have been overall good experiences. Two times were for birthday parties and our last time was on a Groupon deal. We’ve done bowling, skating, arcade, laser tag and video games. There is just so much to do that your family won’t be bored. It’s very kid friendly. The bowling alley staff that took care of the Groupon order was extremely helpful. The kids absolutely love the laser tag (I do recommend going in a large sized group if possible. And the skating rink staff went out of their way to make sure our younger kids were well taken care. I definitely recommend them for a fun night out with the kids.
Food from the concession stand did take a little long. That would have been my only complaint.

This place is so much fun. There’s bowling, laser tag, bumper boats, batting cages, a huge arcade, mini golf, go carts and a roller rink. If it wasn’t for the Groupon I’m not sure I would pay for everything there it is a little overpriced. The food at the concession stand is really overpriced and don’t expect good service at the concession stand, they take forever. I would have given this place at least four stars if their customer service from their inexperienced teenagers knew what they were doing! Overall I had a good time.

This place was overpriced, for one thing. The concession place was a total nightmare. Food was overpriced, and not that great. It took them 20 minutes to deliver 2 hotdogs and 30 minutes to deliver a BLT. There were NO people in line at the time. The concessions were being run by high school age kids. There were no apologies for the order taking so long to deliver. Yet, we saw the people at the concession stand standing around, making their own food to eat, and one girl was reading a book. The Ladies Room had no toilet paper in any of the stalls. My daughter had fun, but most games or activities cost $ 350, so it takes no time to go through $ 25.

This is the second time I had thrown a skate party for my daughter. First time went well, second time– party itself went well. She originally invited 30 kids from class, I was told booking the party I would only be charged for who showed up but ultimately responsible for ten. Needless to say: 16 girls showed (and that’s including one that literately walked in n out n went home sick). At the end of the night, I was charged for 20 kids. That’s $ 59 over-​charge. I called on a normal Monday business day to speak to an adult (manager or supervisor) to address the situation. She did call me promptly back and basically told me there was nothing she could do about it because a) that’s what the counter girl had wrote down (actually she had 21 wrote down. LIE B) I didn’t address the situation then (keep in mind it was a Friday night and by the time this party was over it was 11pm, oh yeah n I’m 8 months pregnant. And as stated before– 60 $ is $ 60, but at the end of the day I wanted to speak to an adult or someone in management– not some kid at the desk regardless of how many yrs she’s worked there– as put in my face several times. C) I didn’t have any complaints on the comment card I filled out after party, and if I had a problem with what I was being charged, I again I should have addressed it then. (BUT– I was handed this comment card BEFORE I paid– which was not brought up because again she didn’t give the opportunity.
I obviously was prepared to pay for 30 kids, we invited 30.
Sooo, the lack of communication in this place blows. To be called a liar is a slap in my face and never ever again will I throw a party there. Originally I had called to just address the situation because there was also a few things I didn’t even get to mention because this «GM» had to argue with me the whole conversation. Included in this teen skate package– each girl was supposed to receive a glow stick (I had to remind them at the counter of that 3 hrs into our party. The bday girl was supposed to receive a tshirt, which we never received but who cares… There was supposed to be a special bday announcement that never happened, but again who cares. Just bringing up their lack of professionalism, I don’t like the feeling of being ripped off and then told I’m the liar!

This is a great place to bring kids for an hour or a whole day of fun.
There are a ton of things to do — bowling, an arcade, cosmic mini golf, roller skating, laser tag, and in the warmer months, go-​karting and bumper boats. We came here to celebrate an adult birthday and spent our time bowling, skating, and at the arcade.
We arrived about noon on a Sunday and were able to get a lane right away. I don’t think the lanes were ever completely full, but that could have just been a coincidence. We rented a lane for the hour. With the hour of play and six pairs of shoes rented, the total came to $ 32. There are some coupons posted online, which gave us a free pitcher of pop with the lane rental. Four adults and two kids were able to finish a game a piece in the hour, just barely.
From there, the group went to the indoor roller skating rink. They had music, a DJ, and even stopped for games like the Hokey Pokey. No one really goes that fast on the rink, but even so, the little kids are helped to the middle of the rink, where they can go slow and use these small walker-​type devices to help with their balance. They allow you to use your own rollerskates/​blades, but they check them first for the wheels. I guess certain kids of skates can ruin their floor.
Finally, we headed up to the arcade to finish off the afternoon. They have a ton of games for little kids, and some classics like DDR and Mario Kart. We did find a 4 person air hockey table that we had fun playing for a while.
If we had a little more time, I would have liked to try the cosmic mini golf. It was $ 3.50/person, but I saw an online coupon for 2 for the price of 1, so that would have been an inexpensive additional activity. Do check online before you head here — they have coupons that seem to change fairly often.
We won about 25 tickets at the arcade and we traded them in for a small plastic dinosaur figurine to remember the day.
In total, we were there for about 3.5 hours, and we could have stayed longer had we not had other plans. Overall, a good place to go for a day of family fun.

The overall complex was pretty amazing. The prices were reasonable. But the customer service was questionable. In fact, there was one young lady who was so overwhelmingly rude from start to finish that I would hesitate to ever go back. For a staff member to treat customers with such attitude reflects poorly on management.

Nothing opened before 11am other than the bowling. The website wasn’t clear about this, so we arrived at 10am thinking we would get to mini golf inside… that wasn’t the case. So, we had to bowl first, then golf.
Bowling balls were reallllllly greasy. I did like the lanes, however. Bumpers went up for the kids, and came down for the adults. Computer screens were pretty hightech for what I’ve seen at other places.
Staff members were okay… not totally friendly, but not rude either.
Decent prices. Be sure to check in on Unilocal for a discount on the indoor mini golf.

My nephew had his 7^th birthday party here, so I am looking at it from that aspect. There were a lot of fun activities here that were advertised (mini golf, laser tag, roller skating, arcades, etc) but this is for the bowling and the party room aspect.
The bowling was for one hour, and it was a timed game across 4 lanes for 20 something kids. It got a little crazy, but the kids are seven, so it’s to be expected!
The party room was a little insane and loud, but that added to the excitement of the kids. The workers there were mainly teenagers, and they tried to control the kids as much as they could, but there’s only so much they could do. It wasn’t even my birthday party, but I found myself using «gym voice» with the kids because they weren’t listening to the workers. They were grateful for the help, though, and said thanks. They were sweet.
When my nephew was opening presents, they had a dog in a costume (Funway’s mascot?) sitting by him and high fiving the kids. It was cute! They also have one of those «money machines». The pizza for the kids was «meh», but it was frozen pizza, can’t expect too much. My husband bought me a soft pretzel and fries from the concession stand. They were typical concession stand food. Nothing to brag home about, but they got the job done!
It seemed like a fun place for a party and my nephew and kids really enjoyed themselves, so that’s the most important part.

I’ll be honest, I would give it a 4 star rating but that declares I am a fan. This place is just what the 3 star says «A-​OK». Wasn’t a bad experience. But for me wasn’t an over-​the-​top experience. We bowled for a couple hours, enjoyed a few beers and watched some playoff baseball while bowling and it was a good time. I just couldn’t see saying «You know what I wanna do tonight? Go to Funway!».
I would suggest giving it a try, the place seemed clean and well run by the staff. The biggest plus I got was that the beer was nice and ice cold.

Pros — Decent prices, tons of activities, great fun for kids and adults.
Cons — Apathetic staff, confusing compound to navigate, poorly lit outside at night
Overall, our group had a good time. Skip the Lazer Frenzy at $ 2 for less than 2 minutes of play. Even with the summer «unlimited» pass, it was a wasted effort for our kids.

Date night at the bowling alley last night and we had a blast. The place was pretty packed with a league but they always save a few lanes for open bowling. Rocked pitchers for less than $ 10 and rolled to our hearts content.
I mean what is not to like about Funway? Go karts, bumper boats, batting cages, indoor and outdoor mini golf, laser tag, roller skating, huge arcade and bumper cars.
You kind of have to suck at life to not enjoy yourself here, just saying.

Fun Indeed. At any age– part of nostalgia weekend. J hadn’t been here since he was 17. Place was pretty crowded with a lot of kids and adults. I stood by the railing and looked down at all the bowlers who looked to be having fun.
Nice enough place. Stopped in here to kill some time before the STC parade. No entry fee. Just walk in and hop on whatever old school or new game you want.
Pretty good sized place with a bowling alley, arcade games, lazer tag, bumper cars, roller rink and skee ball. Worth a visit and looks to be fun for the kiddies and adults.
It’s amazing how the littlest things bring us back to what used to be so much fun!
