Just bought two glazed doughnuts. I took one bite of mine and it was hard and cold. Yesterday’s doughnuts.

Love this place! The apple fritters are so flavorful and delicious! Perfectly crisp and chewy. The donuts are sinfully hazardous… I would say to stay away, but I’m giving this place five stars… It’s got a great variety of donuts and various other sweets. Great place to satisfy a sweet tooth! Definitely a must-try when in Battle Ground!

When we moved to Battle Ground we were eager to find a bakery. The donuts were okay, but not as soft as a grocery store donut. However, the chocolate marshmallow cookies were amazing. The two star review however comes mostly from the unfriendly staff. The counter is lined with little bobble-heads and dollar store-type toys. These naturally appeal to children. But, the second the owner saw my kids just LOOKING at them, she ran over and very huffily started moving the toys backwards. It didn’t exactly make us feel welcome or wanted as customers. Additionally, my kids were naturally super excited to look at the display case and choose their treat. Again, the staff acted as though were were inconveniencing them and wasting their time. She stood there looking very annoyed. Sort of off-putting and sad that we weren’t welcomed. Just might go back for another cookie though…

I REALLY wanted to like the donuts here but grocery store donuts are better than these. Store could use some updating and employees were less than friendly. I will try again in hopes it was an off day.

This is a no-frills spot that makes good donuts. I can’t speak for their cakes or anything else yet. Yes, it is dingy. The floor could use a good cleaning and the moldings a good dusting. And yes, it is not a place that invites you to sit and enjoy, but complaining about that is like complaining that a fast food place doesn’t have lace tablecloths and a hostess to seat you. This bakery isn’t about sitting and enjoying. It’s about good food to go. I’m from out of town but would definitely hit this place again when I am back. I like supporting the little businesses when I can.

The old fashion donuts are the best I have found and the buttermilk bars are wonderful.

Best doughnuts ever! I love their apple fritters and butter bars. They are $ 9.25 for a dozen, but they are huge. I bought a dozen for my coworkers and cut them in halves. They were a hit!

This is why battleground is failing. If This bakery were in portland it wouldn’t last a week. I surprised it hasn’t been shut down by the health department. I smelled something great so I decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in I noticed how dirty everything was. We weren’t even greeted. When the owner finally addressed us we were told that the 2 different types of «pastries» they had out were all they had. I was instantly embarrassed for them. We were told that one was a cream puff and one was a cannoli in a very sarcastic tone. I ordered the«cream puff» and knew it wasn’t right just from how it looked. The little piece of bread was sliced in half and set on a mound of waxy white frosting. Yes, frosting… I get better cream puffs at ikea and they are frozen! Battleground bakery, please look up what a cannoli is and a cream puff and make them right. I’m insulted that they think we are that stupid. DONTWASTEYOURTIME!’

We stopped here on a whim to get a birthday cake for my mom. The smell of the shop alone was unbelievably good. The cake was a beautiful chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling, chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate ganaché poured over the top. I have to wipe the drool just typing about it. She added a happy birthday to our mom on top & proceeded to let us know the total would be $ 14.50… What? I’m pretty sure I can’t even make it for that price! We were so tempted by a maple glazed buttermilk donut that we caved and bought one for ourselves. When we got to the car we split it… we never left the parking lot. It was literally the BEST donut we have ever had. It was crispy on the outside, and buttermilk biscuity on the inside, the maple glaze was just the right amount. We looked at each other and agreed that we had to go back in and buy whatever else they had! We left with 9 donuts for $ 7!

I too have to make a comment on the cleanliness of the store. Floors should be clean and shiny for a bakery. It’s not warm and welcoming and has absolutely no personality. I just don’t get that«come in and enjoy your time here» feeling. The baked good’s are ok, but just that. To each his own but for those who get excited for this place makes me wonder if they’ve not tried anyplace different… Albertsons next door has wonderful donuts in the morning daily… and they are happy to see you when you arrive. I hope BG bakery reads these reviews and changes things up a bit. Too many family business have closed, I d hate to see another long time establishment dry up and blow away because they don’t pay attention to the details… Please clean it up and warm up the personality in there!

I liked the croissant turkey and swiss and the chocolate croissant, but gives them a one star review is how FILTHY the place was the floors didn’t look like they had been cleaned in years, along the wood trim there was a thick layer of dust, the drink machine had a thick layer of dust, they had a doughnut display case filled with pans and what looked like mocha or chocolate cupcakes on top of a display case UNCOVERED the entire time my husband and I were there, what a serious health code violation as we were leaving I noticed the fire extinguisher was caked in dust, this place needs a serious cleaning starting with the staff…

Kind of hidden as far as lunch goes. I heard about it from a local. This is a bakery but they also have lunch. sandwich’s, soup and what ever the special of the day might be. I ordered a few different kinds of sandwiches and everything was good. To top it off its a bakery… so I grabbed a few donuts as well. I would eat there again and recommend to anyone in that area to try it.

Bleah. I bought a few donuts first thing in the morning which happened to be stale, the place looks unclean, and the staff was friendly but only after they noticed I was standing there, the only person in the shop, at the counter just a few feet away. Do we have to go all the way to VooDoo to get marginal donuts around here? On the weekends, the fresh mini donuts made on site at the Vancouver Farmers Market were very good.

The donuts are large and made fresh each morning. My wife especially likes the apple fritters(which are huge and $ 1). The cakes we’ve tried are ok but not extraordinary. The staff is friendly and pleasant. They also make some bread. I will say it’s better than the grocery store bakerys in town.
