Turn the Page Again

Awesome little new-​to-​you bookstore that employs individuals recovering from mental illness (from their website). Found some great books… All for $ 1 each on sale for the month of February. Will need to come back again for more books.

A gem of a little store on Bell Blvd. reasonable used books. The staff has always been gracious. It’s a pleasure to shop there.

Great used book shop! They have titles that I would’ve never thought and such classics too! Always specials going on, like this month (FEBRUARY 2016) all books are ONE DOLLAR!!! During summer the cookbooks were 3 for $ 3… They also take donations of books for store credit (be sure to call first, though, because a lot of people donate and sometimes they stop accepting donations for a couple of months). Proceeds go towards a mentally handicapped adult work program, and they employ same as well. I love this place and hope it’s here for many years to come!

This is a wonderful part of the Bayside community that deserves serious respect! They carry on the tradition of hard covered physical books as opposed to e-​books. It’s a rather small store but there are so much precious treasures here that have yet to been discovered! As soon as you walk in, there are bookshelves and bookshelves of books, none of them being over $ 5. Even outside the store, there’s a little cart with $ 1 books that can cater to all sorts of readers. I’m sure that there’s a book for everyone here. I got some of my favorite books here for an excellent and unbelievable price. Bought a baking cookbook here that was like the size of a dictionary for $ 1 and some of my favorite novels for a good steal! The staff is so very kind and help you in what ever way they can. The book store exists for a wonderful and meaningful cause and I definitely support more small stores like these in our neighborhood rather than big chain stores. They have different sales every month, depending on different genres or buy one, get one free kind of deals. They also have a stamp card where each time you buy a book, you get a stamp. Over time, after you collect a certain number of stamps, you get a free book. I definitely recommend this store to any book lover! You’ll feel like you’re in book heaven!

Great little bookstore! The staff was friendly and the used books are in good condition. I was able to buy 3 books for $ 5. Only wish the parking around this area was better.

I visited this shop the other day with a fellow book lover and was singularly unimpressed.
After driving out from Nassau County and then cruising around trying to find a parking spot for 10 minutes, I was hoping for more.
What we found was a little hole-​in-​the-​wall shop with mostly modern paperback fiction.
The folks there are nice enough and I suppose this is a great place for the locals to get cheap books.
But it wasn’t worth the trip out there.

This is an excellent part of the community. Used books stores are such a treasure for the whole family… there’s nothing like having an actual book in your hands (plus it makes you look cool, don’t even try to pretend that’s not true). This establishment is for a good cause as it helps individuals acclimate into the work place (so please be patient) as part of a type of community outreach program. You never know what type of treasures you may find here, so it’s worth a trip if you have a bit of time to browse. If they do not have a book in stock they do go downstairs to see if it’s there or put you on a wish list for the item. There are a lot of classics here which is helpful for folks in school, or. to those who want to know what the fuss is all about lol. Also keep in mind they take donations, totally a great cause! And everything here is less than 5bucks, amazzzzzzzzing

This is such a great, small bookstore in the area. The price are great, conditions are generally very good and the staff are very nice. If you don’t find the books you are looking for, they will take your information down and call you if it does come in.
I had requested for children books and it did come in, the condition was very good, almost brand new & for $ 1.00, it was such a bargain and a very pleasant experience.

This is a cute bookstore with a pretty decent selection. The book prices range from 50¢ to $ 5 (nothing in the store is priced over $ 5).

I was surprised how cheap their books are. They have books no more than $ 5 each. Most of the books are either $ 2 or $ 3 each. Buy 5 books, get 1 free. Don’t expect a large selection of books. This store is pretty small.
I purchased a book, «Ultrametabolism». It only costed me $ 3. Pretty cheap considering it’s a hardcover book.
The staff is pretty friendly. They also sell coffee for $ 1 each. I never tried their coffee through.

HELP! SAVE ME! My life is over now that I have found Turn the Page Again. I can’t stop thinking about it, planning when my next trip will be, making lists of the books I NEED! I LOVE this store. I didn’t want to share the best thing in the world with other people, but somethings are too good not to share! The staff was soooo friendly and helpful, if there is something you are looking for that you don’t see, they will find it for you or have it in the archives. All the books are organized by author and by genre, not like other used bookstores that I have been in, where it is a free for all and there are books everywhere and there is no rhyme or reason. This place even has a Children’s nook that contains early readers, picture books, as well as what I like to call «BABY BOOKS». The selection is so wide, I need to go back and find more! I am now officially hooked on Turn the Page Again!

This is a delightful little place, and I stopped by here quite a few times last year on the way home, lugging 20 pounds worth of books home happily with my wallet only half-​empty.
I wasn’t aware that the store had a cause, until I came across the NY Post article that other reviewers have posted about below. But now, I find that that’s more of a reason to love this place.
The employees here are very kind, and well-​informed about the books they carry. They also have their favorites, and won’t hesitate to tell you a tale or two about their favorites if you ask them. They do their best to help you find a certain item if you have a certain title you’re looking for; I asked them if they had a copy of McTeague, as I was reading it in school and wanted another copy for the sake of convenience. The next time I’d stopped by, I noticed that they had five different copies of the book, and the employee who noticed me perusing through that shelf recognized me as the person who’d been looking for that title! Can you get more attentive than that?
I also like the fact that a lot of the books they carry are «mainstream» and are in great condition; I’d been wanting to complete my collection of the Series of Unfortunate Events books, but it was a bit pricey since they’re more than 10 dollars per book, generally, and there are 13 of them. But thanks to this neat bookstore, my collection is now complete!
They also have a nice little coffee station and a sofa area in the back where you can relax and have some coffee. I’m not sure if the coffee is free anymore, but it used to be when I stopped by last time (which has been a while, unfortunately).
All in all, a great place! Totally worth a visit.

Oh my. This was a wonderful find in my neighborhood. For the month of February all books are $ 1. The books are mostly all in very good condition. Everything is organized and easy to browse through. The people are friendly, there is a coffee station in the back, and they even have stacks of FREE books. Love love LOVE this place.

I’m happy this place opened. My toddler son loves the children’s area in the back. It’s clean and organized. He makes a bee-​line for it to play with the blocks on the little table and then we spend a lot of time reading together back there. The rotating employees (see other reviewers’ links) are always helpful and the store has a good cause. I hope it continues to flourish. Please support it.

Discovered this place two months ago.
The good part is that used books here are dirt cheap. The owner also employs people with certain disabilities. (Another reviewer already posted a link, but I’ll post it here again:

The bad part is that most of the books are pretty mainstream. Unless that’s what you like to read, then that’s cool. Hey, don’t mean to sound like a snob, ’cause really, I’m not. I’m just not happy with the selection of titles. My mother might like it though.
Still, I wish this place good luck.

A wonderful bookstore with an important cause.
Not only can you get recent bestsellers in excellent condition, but you can find some rare books and early editions, too. I try to stop in every week, and there’s ALWAYS something new that I want to pick up.

I was so happy to find this store! As far as I’m concerned there are just not enough used bookstores around anymore. This one is tiny but I’ve found something every time I visited. The owner is a lovely woman and I hope business is good and it stays open!

I found out about this store when I attended a local community board meeting on Monday. Turns out they *just* opened that day (Mon ²⁄₁). I stopped by yesterday to see if I could sell them any of the books that I couldn’t sell anywhere else, and I got $ 47.40 in store credit! Woo-​hoo!
Their buyback policy is store credit for 25% of cover price (I’m not sure what happens if the book is in horrible condition, though, as all my books were in good conditions). I wish they gave a choice of store credit OR cash, but since they just opened, they need the cash so I forgive them.
Also, you can only use 50% of your store credit at once, until some point when they determine that your balance is low enough that you can use all of it. Kind of annoying, but again, since they just opened, I’ll forgive them for trying to work out the kinks in their system.
Finally, as a promotion, all books are $ 1. Or, if you bring books to trade with them (ie. books that don’t have a cover price), you can take an equal number of books for free. I’m not sure (and I don’t think they know yet either) what you’re going to get in exchange for the books you trade them after the promotion is over. Because of this promotion, I got 5 free books, woo-​hoo!
Starting next month, all their books are priced at 50% off cover price.
Ooh~ one more thing. I think I spied a coffee-​making set-​up in the back of the small store. I was in a hurry to go to work, so I’m not sure. The store itself is pretty small – a long, narrow space with one wall of books. But I’m excited about this store nonetheless. I prefer small indie bookstores (that pay you for your books, even if it is in the form of store credit) over large superstores where I feel so overwhelmed, I end up not reading anything at all.
