Surprisingly well made Korean food tucked away in a quiet corner of Beaverton for very reasonable prices. As a native Korean who’s had the real deal from Seoul, I will say that ARA makes some very solid dishes.

Great food and great service! Complementary hot tea was served immediately after seating. As we have a group of 4, they provide us a pot of hot tea to refill ourselves. This is often seen in Chinese retardant but seldom in Korean restaurant. Definitely a nice touch on service! We ordered four dishes and they proactively make the short rib+soup a combo price for us, indicating a better pricing(we did not notice that on the menu) — another nice move! The food is exceptional — 1) seafood pancake: probably one with the most onion in town! The pancake is on the thick side and loaded with good amount of seafood. Definitely one of the best I have had 2) short rib bbq — on the sweet side but not too sweet. The meat quality is good. 3) seafood tofu soup mild spicy — oh, how I love this seafood tofu soup! The soft tofu is awesome and there is full of seafood. I will definitely have this every time I come! 4) spicy squid — another nice one ! This is more like a larger dish to share. You can choose to add rice noodle on the side(which we did) it was very delicious and really not so spicy! Overall, this visit has made this restaurant my favorite Korean restaurant in town! Will be back!

Glad there is a place that opens until 2am. Came with friends at 10 pm for late night menu. Price isn’t cheap but i think it’s worth it because of the portion. It was more than enough to share 2 food(bossam and boodae soup) with some drinks. The atmosphere was great. I even felt like I was back in Korea. Wait staff was cute and kind. Can’t wait to visit again!

Finally, it is nice to have proper tasting Korean restaurant in Beaverton OR area. Well, it is rather excellent quality of Korean food that doesn’t allow comparison with other old-fashioned restaurant. However, I recently had a series of unpleasant experience with service. After extremely long wait time, waitress served a food that we did not order, insisting that we ordered wrong, insisted again we have to eat what she brought us. Also, we’ve ordered to-go’s. After an hour, yes 1 hour, same waitress asked that if it is ok to pack a cold soup without heating it up. If your are too craving for good Korean food that you can stand their worst service, ready to wait for 1 hour for cold soup take out and heat it up at home, or obey what waitress says you have regardless what you ordered. I recommend this place. We had enough.

What’s the point of being open late if you don’t even have any food left? Are here twice and that happened. Tried to order food but the waiter couldn’t understand English very well, which is fine but when I’m pointing at the menu trying to spell it out that gets annoying. Ended up eating a bowl of rice because of miscommunication, won’t be eating here again.

Friendly staff. We ordered the spicy squid and loved it! The size of this dish can serve 3 to 4 person. Also had the beef bone soup with chives, it has tons of MSG… not recommended.

Decided to check it out from the positive reviews I found the food quality to be average. The seafood pizza was flour and vegetable dominant I couldn’t taste any distinct seafood flavor. The hot squid dish was large and generous but here again average in flavor. My longing for seafood tofu soup that looks delicious in Unilocal photos did not materialize in my mouth. The kalbi short ribs was good. The condiments to get things going are always welcome and they were no different from other Korean restaurants.

Got seafood tofu soup and was good! Pretty awesome and well decorated place with no wait for now. Probably cos it’s located in a not too popular plaza. Honestly think traffic will build up. Spacious and have plenty of room, I believe they do bbq too on the other side of the room. I also realized they OPENTILLLATE when we got there they gave us a late night menu and it says till 2am. Woot! Sides were great too(had this fish side dish that was good) and I will definitely be back. :)

Very cute small mama papa casual Korean place on Murray. Entrees comes with 8 little side dishes, hot corn tea, and cold sweet rice tea. The short ribs and beef bulgogi comes in a cast iron skillet and were delicious. The soft tofu soup was amazing! Service was excellent.

The Korean food here is pretty tasty. If you need a good place to eat at night and want something yummy and homemade this place really is not bad man. The waiting staff here are terrific, the food is great, and I really like that if I’m hungry at night and feeling like I don’t want to cook food myself that there is a place I can go eat that is nearby my house.

My friend and I ordered the short rib and the order took 30 mins to arrive. Didn’t even get rice with it until we asked for it. More people came to join us after and the service got even worse. We had to ask for silverware and water a few times before getting it. I actually went to get our own chopsticks, We got our food and waited 15 mins before we could eat it. The short ribs were pretty good tho! Someone here talked about how good the hot tea is good, they pretty much gave me hot water…(See picture) It was so bland. Long story short, sit up front, you get no service in the back of the restaurant. I’d have to say the food was pretty good tho

Super sweet place. I loved the ambiance of this place. The food is average Korean food for Korea, but in this town it’s very good. I’m not scared to eat the soup(as most Korean places recycle the unused kimchi into the soup). I don’t get the impression they do this. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. The best part is the sides. They actually have GREAT sides. Not just crap that nobody but Koreans would eat. They’ve got the good banchan. Try it and you’ll love the place.

I’m so glad that my husband and I decided to try something different tonight. We’ve only had Korean food a couple of times before so we weren’t sure what to get but the server was very kind and helped us decide. Everything the people around us were eating smelled fantastic so I knew it was probably going to be good no matter what. They start you with tea, which is mild and pleasant. We got five little bowls of side dishes, including kimchi, bean sprouts, spinach and a couple of other things I couldn’t identify. All were very tasty and they bring more if you like. I got beef bulgogi, which came out first and came with rice. The meat was flavorful and tender and the shredded green onions on top and the white onion underneath were perfect accompaniments. We happily shared that until my husband’s order of chicken with green onions came out. I can’t decide which I liked better! The chicken was cut into pieces and fried very crispy and spiced with what tasted like a bit of cinnamon, maybe. It was like chicken inside a churro, almost. It smelled great and tasted even better. It comes with a delicious, sweet and spiced sauce that we couldn’t get enough of. After dinner, she brought us each a cup of mango juice, which was a refreshing way to end such an enjoyable meal. The outside of the restaurant is unassuming and the«ambiance» is unpretentious but don’t be fooled: the food is phenomenal, the service is good(and the server very helpful if you need recommendations), the portions are large, the prices are more than fair — and they’re open late! We will definitely be back again.

This was our first experience eating Korean food and our waitress was so sweet and answered all of our questions. She was patient and very attentive even when they became very busy. It was a good overall experience for us, and we would definitely come back to try more menu items.

I had the beef soup. It was more than enough food for me. The ingredients were fresh and the broth was divine. The fresh kimchi was delicious as were the other dishes that came with the meal. Very kind staff and nice atmosphere. I’ll be coming back to try one of the specials(today was Korean pancakes) and the dumpling soup. Yum yum yum!

I came here(August 8) for lunch with my boyfriend and We ordered Soft Tofu soup(mix) $ 8.99 and SsamBab special:(Spicy pork belly + wrapping veges + korean miso $ 15.99) Their side dish and main dish are all fresh and delicious. Very good price as well. The service was very friendly, very quick and the owner was super nice. We didn’t even ask to have the waitress(I think she the owner) fill it up. She took our small dishes and brought us more of those sides dish that we finished. I would highly recommend the «SsamBab Special» You will definitely leave feeling full and satisfied. Can’t wait to come back

its legit. I believe they grow their own veggies and it shows because everything was so fresh and so crisp! Everyone who works there are extremely nice and exceptionally generous(because we kept asking for more side dishes and veggies) most koreans would get annoyed by this gesture — i say this because im korean. lollll their bibim neng myun(spicy cold noodles) is my favorite by far. but everything else ive tried was all derricious~~! so glad this is close to my home. «i dont usually eat out when it comes to korean food. but when i do, im going to Ara.» =D
