Thanks to Bob who came out and my tree was «lying down», lifted it up and secured it to the fence. He also dug a deeper area for another tree that was tilting. He wouldn’t let me pay him! He asked me to do something nice for someone. What a guy! I will recommend him everyone I know.

Very professional from the office to the arborist (Bob) that came to provide the estimate. Decided to go with another company because quote was cheaper but really appreciate professionalism all the way around with this company.

I needed a tree removed from the front lawn of my rental property. It was dead, tall, and the neighbors had been complaining for awhile. I had put it off for too long! I live in SE Portland, but my rental home is in Beaverton. I called J&F Tree Service and talked to Kristi. I described to her where the tree was at in the yard. She was wonderful and talked my through all the different options. After I let her know what I wanted she let me know someone would be out there the next day to give me a free estimate. Someone was out there bright and early the next day and called me right away with an estimate. I was so excited by the great price I booked the service right away. I ended up getting my tree removed at the stump and all the debris hauled away. The tree was also touching the power lines. Dan had people out there in a few days and got it done! My neighbors said the work crew was very professional and the job was done well.
I really couldn’t be happier with my experience! I put it off for so long because I wasn’t sure where to start. Kristi, Dan and their work crew made the process so simple. I was able to coordinate all of this with them without ever having to leave SE Portland! (I did drive by after it was cut down to take a look, I was very happy with everything.)

I received excellent service from J and F and I will definitely use their services again if needed and refer them to my friends. They were prompt, efficient and they cleaned up all of the debris as well. Kristi in the office is very helpful too.

Over the last few months, I’ve called a few tree services from coupons I’ve received in the mail, and and never received a call back. I finally did my search through Unilocal and found J&F Tree Service. A friendly gal called me back the same day I contacted them, and I was able to get an estimate the following day by an equally friendly and professional guy named Dan. We decided the tree in question needed to go, and within a few days it was. Because this tree was leaning towards my neighbors house, I was concerned about the removal making his walkway a mess, and my concerns were unnecessary. These guys leave a clean job site. So happy with the service I got, will use them again, and would recommend them to anyone!

My neighbor came to knock on our door at 7am on a Thursday morning, right before I headed out to work, to tell me that three huge branches from our sweetgum had landed on their garage roof and car.
J&F were the only tree company that called me back immediately and sent someone in less than ten minutes. John, the owner, examined the sweet gum and declared it a hazard, and recommended that we remove the entire tree to avoid more falling branches in the future.
John and his crew were extremely careful and efficient, bringing in a crane to remove the fallen limbs from my neighbor’s house and car, and cleared everything afterwards. Both the fallen branches and the entire tree were gone by 3 o’clock that afternoon.
I am very happy with their service and responsiveness, and gladly recommend them for tree service truly well done.

Outstanding Service… I needed a large branch cut down as soon as possible as I was in the process of selling my house. They came out the same day I called. Gave me a quote on the service and completed the job the next day. I was extremaly happy and pleased with their service and would recommend them to anyone.

We had such excellent service from J & F Tree Service. Dan came out the same day I called to give us a quote. Our sick trees were removed the next week with such thorough care and speed, I was completely impressed. I will always recommend J & F to all of my friends without hesitation.

I went on the net to check out the reviews for tree service last night and read reviews like this.
Wow, got a call early the next morning, got a quote within a couple hours. Asked if it could be done this week, John said he would check it out. Called me back within 45 minutes saying they could do it today.
Fifteen minutes later they were here and in less than 2 hours, had taken out my tree that was listing toward my neighbors house.
The folks that did the work were courteous, friendly and got the job done fast and easy.
My yard looks just like it did when they showed up.
Hire these folks, they are very good at what they do.

I had 6 alder trees removed last week from J & F. They quoted me a fair price and I had them cut down the trees the next morning. Very professional company and they seem to know their job very well. They could have put an X on the ground and hit it with every tree if they wanted to, no collateral damage was done to the surroundings.
It’s a hard job moving all the branches and tree trunks around but these guys made it look easy. I asked to have the left over wood so I can cut it up for firewood and they also gave me the chips from the truck when they were done.
My recommendation is to get more than one quote but be sure to add these guys to your top of the list. Two thumbs up, thanks guys.

J & F Tree Service was excellent. We had them do some extensive tree trimming that was long overdue for us in Gresham. They were easy to schedule, they promptly did excellent work, and it was right in our budget range. We would highly recommend them for any tree work that you need.

Yesterday at our church, the crew unearthed a tree trunk in the area where the permeable pavers will be. Today after digging down to the necessary grade, the trunk obviously needed to be ground down. I Googled stump grinders in our area. The company with an address closest to the church was on Shaw in Aloha… J & F Tree Service.
Within ten minutes of describing our predicament, an estimator was on site. He made a call, and within ten minutes a MAMMOTH grinder was on site and ten minutes later… PROBLEM SOLVED! This trunk had a 36 inch diameter, and they ground down 12 inches. I would highly recommend this company.

After purchasing my home, I realized that the trees on my property needed some work. After receiving four estimates for the work, I chose to hire J & F.
The staff was professional, knowledgable, and they did a great job. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work and the speed in which the work was done.

We had a large alder tree split and break off, and a 25 foot section landed on our roof. We had called several different companies for an estimate, but only two bothered to call back and they were booked out for a couple of weeks. I found J & F on Unilocal and gave them a call. The office sent a message to their man in the field, who called me back quickly. John was finishing a job and headed back home but he offered to come by on his way. When he got here he immediately called in his crew members who came right out and cut the tree section off. They even cut it up into firewood for us. These guys are professional and efficient. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks J & F!

I found these people to be horribly inconsiderate of my property. They just finished at our condo complex after 3 noisy days with no warning. When it came time to do the trees around my building they started throwing branches everywhere. I had to go and yell at them to stop throwing rather large branches onto my garden. After that they left a huge mess of small branches all over both my front and back decks. I will be complaining to our management.

Fast, efficent, timely service, and the price was right. A great experience all around. Why didn’t I get this done sooner? Thanks for a great job!

A wind storm blew down a very old plum tree in my backyard. It was leaning against another tree, going over the top of my wood fence. A difficult job to remove the tree, save the existing trees, and my fence.
I always try hire local services when I can and J and F Tree service came up when I did a little googleing. The office lady was very friendly and the estimator came by that day. I wasn’t home at the time and Jeff called me right then. As it turns out, he removed a stump in my front yard about a year before and remembered me!
They removed my tree, saved my fence and other trees, and cleaned everything up. They even left me the wood, cut up in fireplace sizes.
Great work, great price, very thoughtful and experienced staff. I highly recommend.

How I came to use J and F is quite funny actually. I own a local moving company that is also featured here on Unilocal and Kristi of J and F called us to use our services. During our conversation I discovered that her and her husband own a local family business as well. I asked what they do and she said tree service and removal.
How perfect because I had a tree that I was concerned was dying in our front yard. So I went from being the service provider to the customer in the same conversation. Kristi set up an estimate to diagnose the tree and assess the situation. It was found that our tree was dying and would need removal. They quote was beyond reasonable and I agreed immediately to have them do the work.
The appointment was scheduled in the morning at 9am. They showed up with some very impressive and newer equipment and I was immediately very confident in what was about to transpire. I was greeted by Pete who was the crew leader. He explained to me what they would do and we had a small conversation while the others two workers set up.
It was fun to watch them climb, limb, and fall the tree. They did this in well under an hour. They knew that I wanted to keep my wood for burning as a courtesy Pete cut up the tree into wood stove size rounds for me to split. That saved me a bunch of work.
Also, I should mention that the tree being removed was only about 6 feet from the road on a busy street so it could have been hairy. Those guys made it look easy and there was not a second that I thought they were not in total control of the situation. They had that tree limbed, felled, and cut so fast I was amazed.
Next they ground the stump and that was the coolest thing to watch. That gnarly blade just melted through the stump like a hot knife through butter. Actually it reminded me more of the eraser feature in Paint Brush or Adobe Photoshop. The stump grinder swept side to side and the stump disappeared with each sweep. I would say that they ground the whole stump out in less than 5 minutes. They dug it out 18 inches beneath the surface. Very impressive.
This was all around a great experience from first contact to the end of the job. I will be eager to refer J and F Tree Service to anyone needing tree service or consultation. I tell you, when you find a provider that is so straight forward and does such a flawless job it really makes and impression on you. I know this is a glowing review but they earned every bit of it. Keep up the good work guys.

I had 2 huge Linden street trees (20 + years old) that were destroying our sidewalk and driveway! Before paying to repair the damaged sidewalk we had to get the trees removed and stumps ground down ASAP! I googled beaverton tree removal and found J & F with great google reviews. From the first phone call to the final stump grinding, I had amazing customer service. Not only did the estimator come out the same day I called, but the price they quoted for both trees was great! At every step of the process J&F was courteous, on-​time and did exactly what they promised. Great crew, very professional. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
