Do yourself a favor and do not visit this restaurant. The service was terrible, and the food was not fresh and seemed to be heated up and thrown on a plate. The waitress forgot a food item I ordered twice, and I had to track her down to ask about it. I think this place is overrated and I was not satisfied. Not to mention the cashier who was extremely rude because they couldn’t understand what I was asking for a request and made me feel embarrassed in front of other customers.

New Year’s Eve tradition — this year it was exceptional. We arrive before six and dine in each year. They add staff so the service is still good even with the crowd. It’s a shortened menu for the holiday, but still plenty of delicious choices, all served fresh and hot. This year we had crab rangoon, veggie fried rice, chicken pad tai and two brothers shrimp — all were superb. I never tire of this place!

The food may be decent, but the cashier is rude. She made me feel like an a**hole for asking what kinds of vegetables are in the chicken with garlic sauce dish. She said«I don’t see the food, I just ring it up». Seriously, what a biatch. From the looks of her, she does a lot more than just«ringing up» the food. My total was $ 11.94. I gave her $ 20 cash, and when she went to give me the change($ 8.06), she asked me if I needed the penny or do I just want the nickel. What the hell? Just give me my change!!! I said«whatever is easiest for you». She gave me all of the change. I found that whole thing very strange. Who does that???

My husband and I have been ordering from Cheng Yang Li since we moved to the area a couple years ago. Their food is always good, and available about 15 minutes after calling in. We always get their pork fried rice, general gsao(not sure how you spell it), peeking ravioli and schezaun(again with spelling) dumplings. All excellent. We always get free crap Rangoon too(SOoo good) for spending more than $ 30. The place is a tad pricey but we keep going back because it is delicious.

My favorite Chinese restaurant! Wonderful food and service. Love Two Brothers Special Shrimp and Grandma Chen Spicy Tofu pot! The perfect spot for gatherings with additional rooms available. I’ve had parties here that everyone loved!

I have lived close by for years and just never tried it until last week. Sadly it is my loss that I have waited so long. It was simply fresh well prepared and cooked ingredients. I also like that they didn’t load the dishes with cheap filler ingredients like some chinese places do… what comes to mind are huge slices of carrots and chunks of green peppers and such. I ordered the combination lo-mein and was pleased that it was not cooked with an excess of oil or soy sauce. It was done really nicely. A simple dish that so many other places screw up. I also ordered the Dragon and Phoenix which is two dishes… General Gau’s chicken and a stir fried lobster with snowpeas and water chestnuts. The chicken was fresh and tender and the batter was nicely crispy even though I took the meal home for takeout. The Lobster dish was nice, but I take away a bit because they tenderized the lobster and the flavor was lacking a little as well as the texture was off for lobster. They also added way too many water chestnuts. I believe it was the owners, husband and wife at the counter and she was pleasant, friendly and efficient in the order/delivery process. I look forward to trying some of their other offerings.

We’ve been long time Chen Yang Li fans. Its quality and atmosphere has always been the best of the Chinese restaurants in the area(though we also like Taipei & Tokyo, just that CYL is probably 2 points better). Unfortunately last night CYL disappointed. We had takeout. The chicken fried rice was almost tasteless. More like little grains with dried vegetables and flat chicken. The sweet & sour chicken was heavy on the«sweet» sauce with very limited vegetables and fruit. The beef with brocolli was the only item meeting the usual excellent standards. Also, separately, I’m disappointed that its only«extras» options(when you order more than $ 20) are all fried. How about some maki or sushi?

This place is pretty good. I LOVE their Black Bean Chicken dish and it is what I usually order. Can’t get enough of this! Have had the Mango chicken as well, which is also good. I like the pickled items that they give as a bit of a snack before you get your food, it is good if you are into that. Their scallion pancakes are good, although I’m not overly fond of the sauce that they provide to dip it into.

Chen Yang Li never disappoints. They have sushi and Thai food. You can get all you can eat sushi for $ 19.99. You can order off the menu for the all you eat sushi however, you have to eat all that you order so start slow. The Thai dishes are excellent too. The Royal Pan Fried Noodles with seafood is a big favorite.

Based on some of the reviews decided to give this restaurant a try… Service was slow considering the restaurant was quite empty. The food was just ok. Ordered dumpling appetizer with spicy peanut sauce, the sauce was plain melted peanut butter. Other apps and rice were not bad but, nothing special. The search for a great Chinese restaurant continues…

Came here for the first time with some co-workers during lunchtime on a friday. It was a very nice room, and they quickly seated us. We came in for our usual friday Sushi fest, which we try different restaurants every week. Since this is what we came in for, we asked if there were any sushi specials for lunch. Nope… Ok, no big deal. The waitress seemed to want to rush our order, there were 5 of us. So i tried the sushi(Spicy tuna roll) and some pork lo mein. It came with Soup which was ok… The lo mein was ok, not totally impressed, have had better at Dive Chinese take out places. The sushi was very spicy, not complaining, and very fresh. Not sure if i’d go back. Seems like overkill and over priced for what they offer…

This is some of the best Chinese food in NH. The food is good and the service is great! Be forewarned the place tends to be packed on Friday nights!

I have been going to Chen Yang Li for the last four years. Over this time, I’ve come to know the owners(Kim and Frank) and the wait staff. We love this place and the people who make us feel welcome and well fed! We started coming to Chen Yang Li after we moved to the area. We used to take my mother here every Saturday for lunch, and we ate our way across the menu over time. We have our favorites: Ginger Shrimp and Scallops with String Beans is a particular favorite; we like the Pineapple Fried Rice, the Hot and Sour Soup, the Ginger Salad(LOVE the dressing), the Seafood Rice Noodle Soup(a little bland, but nice and clean flavors), the standard General Tso’s Chicken, and the Sushi(pretty tasty and generous portions). The Lo Mein is good and tasty as well. I’m not particularly fond of the ‘East Coast’(brown) fried rice here and at most restaurants on this side of the country, which is why we opt for the Pineapple version when we’re in the mood. This is not ‘real’ Chinese food. I’m half Chinese and grew up eating the real deal. South Garden in Merrimack has the closest thing to ‘real’ Chinese in the area. However, I find the dining experience pleasant and the food consistently good at Chen Yang Li. Lunch specials are particularly a good deal, and the friendly, warm and caring service we get from Kim and Frank make this a place we will continue to visit.

Updating my review from a few years ago since this restaurant no longer impresses me with food, value, or service. Specifically, «crispy soft shell crab wasn’t, e sashimi came with cooked shrimp and fake crab sticks, and the service was efficient but far from warm. We’re done with this place. Even with coupons, it’s no longer worth it.

I love Chen-Yang Li! It’s my favorite, go-to, Chinese food restaurant whenever I’m near home. The owners couldn’t be nicer and the food is always good. I recommend the steamed dumplings and soy sauce is superb. Fantastic hot & sour soup! This place is classy, friendly and always curtious! They have a couple of private rooms for smaller dinner parties, besides the main dinning area. In fact, I had my Bridal Shower in one of them! They created a special menu for my guests and had an assigned server for our area make sure we had everything we needed. Wonderful people, wonderful food! Note: If you want chopsticks, just ask for them!

I dig me some Chen Yang Li– really the only sushi that I’ll ‘trust’ here in NH. Quick and tasty. The appetizers are great too!

This place is tucked away in the back of Woodbury Court, only accessible to/from South River Road(US Route 3) southbound across from the Bedford Mall. In the dining room, each table had a white linen table cloth placed over a plastic table cover and white linen napkins, regular utensils(no chopsticks) and glasses for ice water. The waiters wear tuxedos and name tags. I ordered the Happy Family(Taiwan) Luncheon Special($ 8.95) with vegetable fried rice and wonton soup and a pot of hot tea served in a ceramic pot. The Wonton Soup had two wontons, cabbage, scallions, & pork strips in a light chicken broth. The complementary fried crispy rice noodles with duck sauce were tasty. My Happy Family(chicken, pork, shrimp, beef, scallops, broccoli, mushrooms, snow peas, bamboo shoots in a brown sauce) was warm, but tasted good anyways. The vegetable fried rice(with peas, carrots, onions) was okay. When I was done, the waiter brought the check over with a chocolate fortune cookie and Andes mint. Overall, the service was decent and the food was average.
