Description

Specialties

Bedford County’s first winery and Virginia’s first all fruit winery is nestled at the foot of the Peaks of Otter where we, the Johnson family, continue the farming tradition that our ancestors began here in the 1700’s.

In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on our fruit farm, we make 25 varieties of wine, primarily from the fruits that we grow. During the season, you may sample fruits, from which our wines are made, as well as jellies, jams, and butters. Some of our gold medal wines are Chili Dawg, Blueberry Muffin, Sweetheart and Strawberry Reserves.

Our facilities and farm are always welcoming to guests and families. Our Kiss the Devil has a second overall in one national chili pepper contest.

We have farm animals that guests can visit while visiting our winery. We have a farm vacation rental house and The Horse and Hound Wine Festival is held here on the second Saturday in July. Open January — March weekends, noon to 5 PM and April — December, daily noon to 5 PM
