River Road Tavern

First let me say if I send mixed messages, I am going back there, The things I have tried I like and they are delicious.
For me the tavern is located in a very convenient location and has a great staff, so far. I love their chicken wings of all heat levels, they have pronounced flavors and their kobe burger, might be a bit small for the bun they serve it on, but is full of flavor (med rare) also. The French fries are crispy and thin and again tasty. Dip them in their sauce that must have sesame oil in it and you have a very tasty treat.
They always have a good selection of beer on hand, although we have liked some of their selections just to find them not there the next time we visited. The beers can be a little pricey along with the food cost also.
The most disappointing thing about visiting there, is the level of noise in there. It’s just a loud facility.
Good wings and burgers, a little pricey, and defiantly loud. Great place for the occasional visit.

Super small menu but every item they make is spot on. Delicious burgers, fries, bacon, and freshly fried donuts. Try the maple bourbon donuts!

Fantastic food, yes a limited menu but this is not a chain so support a local business. Service was awesome. I wish we had something like this in Arizona.

I went there for lunch and was pleased with my meal. The fries were amazing and I really liked the chicken sandwich. Nice atmosphere did take a while before they took our drink order though. But it was a very nice place. The chairs were a little high and we’re a bit difficult to get on. But was a nice place and I’ll be coming back

Cute bar set up and awesome food. service was quick and super friendly! split the buffalo chicken dip with 4 people for a starter and it filled us up. Not bad priced!

Great beer and drink menu with friendly service. Real hot wings an tasty burgers. Menu is small but they do it well! Kaleigh is a great server and Chris runs a tight bar!

What a really terrific tavern in Bedford! They have a terrific beer list from all over the Northeast, along with some national brands also. The food is good, although, I am extremely surprised they don’t offer (or even stock) ranch dressing. The buffalo chicken dip is way too overpowering with all that Bleu Cheese. The buffalo wings were awesome — meaty, moist, and just the right amount of heat… but the no ranch is just a killer. The poutine is really good! I always make sure to hit this spot up when I come back to visit my parents.

I have been here twice now. Each time I am underwhelmed. The menu us small and limiting but we knew that going in. The wings were decent and the burger was decent. The Reuben also… Decent. Service at the bar. Take a guess… Decent.
Beer selection was also decent.
Long story short this place never leaves me wanting to come back. Not sure why. Just seems like there are better options in the area
Also feel like this place is trying to a little to hard to be a rustic ski-​bum bar/​pub. There is no ski mountains in sight and the building is practically brand new.

Simple menu. Good food. Usually get what ever burger is the special for the day. Always changing. Great beer selection. Can get noisy, but is all good. Open kitchen shows they have nothing to hide. Not sure what that magic sauce is they give you with the fries. But I have a theory it would make anything taste great.

The food here is pretty good as are the drinks. I hATE the seating– high barstools that are so uncomfortable. However it is a fun atmosphere to go for a drink to catch up with friends. Never once have had a friendly (or attentive) waitress.

Typical pub food. Draft lines need to be cleaned more — I’ve had more than a couple beers there that had off tastes or the beers were flat off the draft line

Stopped in while looking for a quick bite after a long day of air travel. Although pregnancy prevents me from drinking at the moment, I’m always on the lookout for places with a great beer selection. River Road Tavern certainly has a variety, with about 12 taps that seem to rotate fairly frequently. At the time of my visit, there wasn’t anything of real note on draft — all fairly popular craft varieties (Abita, Dogfish Head, etc.) They could offer a better happy hour by including beers other than Bud Light and PBR. (Maybe it changes, but that what was advertised on my visit.)
The food menu is tiny, but offered some decent, while over-​priced options. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and ordered a side of fries since they were not included. The chicken was juicy and well-​breaded. It kinda tasted like there was ginger in the breading batter and the sandwich was served with a side of what tasted like peanut sauce… definitely something different. Also of note was the pickle on the side which still tasted very much like a cucumber — homemade perhaps?
Over all, I probably would have enjoyed my experience more had I gotten a friendlier reception. The bartender was obviously disappointed that I only wanted food and not beer. It took about 10 minutes for him to take my order and then 10 more minutes to offer a water. I never received a napkin or silverware.

Awesome casual place. The burger and donuts are awesome. (And whatever magic is in the fry sauce!!)
Good beer, simple food, nice people.
PS — menu is very simple and always changing. Don’t expect a large spread, but everything offered I have had is very good.

Friday evening was my first time to this Tavern. I read mixed reviews, but I was joining a few co-​workers for a going away drink.
I’m not a beer drinker, but my colleagues said they had a great selection. I had a «decent» wine… Which is how their wine list is presented… I thought that was pretty creative.
We ordered appetizers. Sliders, fries, bacon. Wings. Sliders were awesome and tasty… Fries were thin, crispy and fresh and the bacon… Who doesn’t love bacon? I didn’t have the wings, but our group thought they were good. The best part is the peanut flavored Thai sauce they serve on the side… (No idea what it’s called but it was addictive).
I found the place open (which is not typical for a tavern — but I like it), clean and well kept. Even the bathroom was clean — also not typical for a tavern. The waitress was pleasant and the service time and final bill were all reasonable.

I love this place! The staff is so incredibly friendly and knowledgable, the food though limited in options is really delicious, the atmosphere is so cool comfortable, and their beer selection is amazing!
I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been working in the area for a year but never went in because I’m not a drinker. But one Wednesday evening, I joined a few colleagues here for some beer and food. Surprisingly, the food was pretty good. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, while colleagues ordered chicken wings and Kobe burgers. My sandwich was delicious and the shoe string fries were crispy and hot. The price was not bad either.
Service does become little slow when it get crowded, so be patient.

Engage Chris behind the bar. He is as worldly as he is warm and welcoming.
Top notch beverages and service. The French fries with cheese and gravy were not too bad either.

Not at all what I expected from the outside of the restaurant! It was welcoming, but the food menu was pretty limited– much more of a place I would come to have a beer and watch a game or enjoy a drink out with the girls… Don’t look for healthy options, instead consider their burger specials or bourbon donuts for desert! Don’t bring the kids, this is an adult only place!

Been coming here for a long time so I guess it’s time for a review.
I absolutely LOVE their wings. Best buffalo sauce I’ve had («Stupid») and they cook them just right so they stay crispy. I recommend you order with a side of fries and be prepared for the tastiest burn you’ll likely experience.
The beer selections are also great, but the bartender has been light on the pour a few times. I’d stick to beer (which is their strong suit anyhow).

Went for drinks and some comfort food, was really nice. Small cute tavern, had good stupid and spicy wings, fries and a beer. For a relaxing Friday in town is a good spot. Service was warm and did explain about beers which I needed since I’m not from here.
