Food was ok, but the fact that some dishes are pre-made or even delivered is a little bit of a put off. I asked a waitress about a dish and she told me it was pre-made. When I go out to eat is prefer food made to order. I’ll be dining elsewhere from now on.

Went on Easter with my family to bypass all of the overpriced Easter menus being offered from various eating establishments in Bel Air. Most places that offer an Easter menu or brunch are over crowded, the service is slow and the food is mediocre at best. We went here because they were offering their standard menu. They did have 4 Easter menu specials. I ordered the sirloin with mushrooms and peppercorn sauce with a crab cake and two vegetables. Since it was Sunday it qualified for their $ 4 off of any sirloin platter — even on a holiday, most places do not offer their usual specials on holidays. What a pleasant surprise on the discount and the meal. My meal was darn good. Steak served just right and a very decent crab cake. Fresh vegetables and decent service. The place was busy, but not crowded. The other 4 in my party all enjoyed their meals. My daughters steak was a little too down for her, but that’s the way she ordered it, well done and it was a little too well done. My meal for the steak, crab cake and vegetables was $ 19, a very reasonable price! I will be back again and try other items.

Nice restaurant with more of a classy feel than a lot of the big box chains offering a similar experience. We went with a good sized group and no one even batted an eye. Good variety of food with standard New American fare but also local classics like sour beef and dumplings, crab soup, crabcakes, the crab pretzel! Service was seamless. Been a few times and would def go back.

So bad! Went on a Sunday after the Ravens game, dining room was empty. Party of 9 for a birthday. Everything took forever! Waitress could have cared less. Grandma’s meatloaf was burnt to a crisp and then flipped over and covered in gravy so she wouldn’t notice. She couldn’t cut through it! She ordered something else but the waitress wasn’t even going to take the meatloaf off! She begrudgingly said oh I guess I’ll ask my manager. Just awful service and the manager didn’t care at all. Not going back.

Flavorful food. Ok service. We had an issue with the food server putting his thumb in the food but promptly replaced the food. The manager was helpful stating he was new and she would take care of the mishap. The sour beef and dumplings are not bad but the meatloaf burger was at best fair. We don’t go here often but will go back and keep an eye on the food server fingers.

Silver Spring Mining Company Bel Air MD is a Lone Star/Texas Road House Style very small chain — 3 locations. I had the ½ LBS broiled Maryland Style Crab Cake. $ 17. Mostly all lump crabmeat. Bernadette Connus had Crab/shrimp Alfredo $ 21. two cokes, two cups of Maryland Crab soup. $ 58,00. Our waitress Beck was very good. We would not go out of our way again to eat here. very very average… both men’s and Ladies room were not very inviting, so I wonder how the kitchen looks. Nice drive south on Rt 1. nice Saturday venture…

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. If you order carry out… be sure to check it before you leave! They have never gotten my order correct. We ordered their large salad which costs 8.50. We received a small amount of lettuce in a grocery type plastic container. Certainly not worth $ 8.50. Food is ok… not great. Plenty of other choices to go to to get a better meal.

Stopped in with daughter while we were having our cars serviced, waitress kept the drinks coming without asking and food was good. I just had buffalo wings(was actually shorted 1 lol) and she had the crab cake wrap. Quick, hot, and good for a lunch stop.

We stopped in after the Great Grapes Wine Festival, and we were glad we did. Awesome food, and really awesome drink prices. Buy a drink get the next one for a penny. Our table by the bar had its own tv and sound system. We split the huge crab stuffed pretzel, the chicken and shrimp scampi and the shrimp melt. All were really good! I would’ve given 5 stars but the waiter was at times either no where to be found or pushing us out the door. And the booths while entertaining but very uncomfortable hard wood to sit on.

Let me first start with a little history. I have lived in Harford County for most of my life, so I am very familiar with this restaurant. My family and I have eaten here on numerous occasions. We usually haven’t had any problems. Today was a different story. When my mom walked in, the host(a man in his 50 – 60’s) said hello and offered my mom a sample of wine. She declined but I said I’d like a sample. The guy simply gave me a blank stare before asking how old I was. I said that I was 21. He responded by saying I «couldn’t be more than 18.» My mother joined in, saying I was turning 22 in August. He didn’t appear convinced. Instead of commenting on his rude demeanor, I said that he was welcome to check my ID. He looked at my ID and then complained about how he had to do the math to figure out my age. Worse part? This guy never even brought me my sample. Pure incompetence. If he didn’t believe that I was 21, HE should have asked for ID. And when someone is of age, you should probably serve them. Our waitress was inattentive and spent the whole meal chatting with friends behind the bar. When she provided us the check, she hovered and waited until my mom placed her credit card in the check. No courtesy at all(some people like looking over their bill before they blindly give their credit card away…) My shrimp melt was shrimp and cheese baked onto several small bread slices. It was very difficult to eat and wasn’t memorable There’s no reason to return to this restaurant with rude and incompetent staff.

My family has been here a number of times in the past. Had a bad experience one evening when we came around 8:30 with 5 people and were told it would be 45 minutes before we could be seated. Friends, the restaurant was almost empty. I think they closed off all areas except for one. When I seemed perplexed over what the hostess said, she confirmed what she said. When I asked for a manager she disappeared and never came back. We left and I haven’t returned since. I brought this up to the manager via phone call but he didn’t seemed too concerned. He said he would send me a gift card in the mail. Three years later and I’m still waiting. Shame… nice place but too many other places to go in Bel Air that want my business. Two stars for past performance as last visit would have been zero.

The last time(and it’ll be THE last time) we at there was about two years ago. I am not a picky eater at all and rarely complain about food. But everything we got was disgustingly greasy and tasted horrible. We will not be going back.

Great food! I dine here on a regular basis. The food is always great, the service is hit or miss but never terrible. Go on Wednesday and get the half priced burger… what a deal! If you can get there before happy hours ends at 7 pm, you can get a burger and a beer for less than $ 10. The fajitas are also good and the crab cakes are some of the best around.

I enjoyed the meal at Silver Spring Mining Co. But don’t use the«get directions» feature for this location because you won’t get to the restaurant in Bel Air. I had a terrible time locating this place.

Nothing special here. Stop by for lunch and was first seated in the bar area where the televisions apparently cannot be turned off at your table. The host graciously moved us into the main dining room. The food was on par with a TGI Friday’s. And for me that’s not saying very much. I certainly will not rush back.

Nothing grand, but it hit the spot when other places were closed. The ribs are tasty and the sides were decent enough(avoid the green beans though– very watery). I would choose Famous Dave’s over this place though, if it came down to it.

Really good, well prepared food. Fairly quiet for a Friday night. Always friendly staff, Lisa waited on us tonight. Great service! The crab pretzel is enough for 3 people. Good taste. This is a place I enjoy, but seldom visit due to large crowds. Had a really great meal and a wonderful cocktail.

Okay, we went back again about 3 weeks ago, and this time was less pleased with the experience… It was mid-day on a Sunday, and there were hardly any customers in the restaurant, and we sat at the bar(three of us). In between serving the few people that were present, the bartender simply went off to a corner booth to sit and talk with [other employees???]. I can only assume, since I didn’t see the people there with her. As far as the food this trip, my boyfriend & his friend each ordered crab cakes, which they said were«okay.» I ordered the bourbon glazed rotisserie chicken – which was niether glazed nor rotisserie.(((Think of ANY rotisserie chicken you’ve seen at ANY store… they have a nice golden brown crispy skin, maybe some burnt edges from the cooking process.))) This chicken skin was still yellow, still floppy, like maybe they boiled it or steamed it, but definitely, in no way, shape or form, did they roast this or have it on any rotisserie. The«glaze”– as they called it – was merely a sauce brushed on to the chicken prior to serving it. A true«glaze» should have been baked onto the chicken itself. Surprisingly enough, the chicken was actually flavorful and tender, but it was definitely NOT what the menu claimed it was. I’m not sure who makes up these menus, or who checks the food quality, but they need to realize it’s false advertising when they put such a misleading name to a menu item. The sad part is that it’s such an easy mistake to correct. Why screw it up in the first place???
