Firestone Express Tire

This place is solid, fast reliable service. Now; I only had a tire patched, which took all of 35 minutes on a week day. «Great Time». Customer service is what you would expect at a Tire Repair Center… courtesy but to the point, the Mechanics where all business. But again, we’re talking about a Tire Shop… not a 4 star Restaurant. I would recommend this location. My overall experience was 8 out of 10.

In and out quick for an oil change, under 30 minutes. What I paid was less than half of what I paid at other service stations for the same oil! The staff at Firestone Express Tire are very helpful and willing to explain any and all auto related questions, even for the most curious of auto enthusiasts.

We live in town and over many years have taken at least six different vehicles to Express Tire for repairs, an oil change, new tires, etc. In other words, we were long-​standing customers who gave this location a lot of support and even more money. Everything was fine until our last visit. We had $ 300 in repairs done to one of our vehicles. The mechanic obviously did not do a good job and shortly after, we had to take this vehicle back. Before we did, we had an independent mechanic look at the failed repair and he not only confirmed the work performed was faulty, but he wrote down the exact problems.
I took this car back with the list of things that needed to be fixed. The man at the counter looked up my account. We had never had a single issue with Express prior to this and had never complained about their work. He immediately became defensive and confrontational. He said I was not being truthful and that I and this mechanic were «obviously wrong» and he was right. He then stood up so he could tower over me and literally talked down to me. I felt he treated me like an idiot and was accusing me of lying. I asked him for print outs of the history on this vehicle and he refused to give them to me. The entire time he was treating me like a criminal trying to rip them off, the owner was sitting behind him ignoring my obvious distress and displeasure. I was finally told I had to pay another $ 150 to fix their errors and the damage they did to my car. We have never gone back to Express and if anyone were to ask, we would tell them how poorly and dishonestly we were treated. They obviously do not value their long-​standing, loyal customers who have given them a great deal of money over the years.

This is a tough one for me. I hate to be critical of a long standing local place with genuine service competing with Belle Tire.
The good is — this business is honest. They treat you with respect and give you good information on your car needs. If a repair might wait — they go through those options with you. They are pretty efficient too. Most work on my vehicle has been done in reasonable time when you consider they are busy. No unnecessary delays.
The bad — there is little doubt in my mind they use poor quality parts. At least the first time through on your job. Let me explain.
I have had at least 3 different services done on my car from tire, to break, to struts, etc. and have had to equally return my car the same (3 different times) because something was not right within a week or two later. The tires are the only thing that has held up at this point. Mind you, my car actually handled and sounded worse than the original after they did the work and replaced parts.
To their credit they always accommodate me and took care of the problem. In each case though they cited the parts and «warranty» and fixed the issues. No charge.
Yet, I think I have easily spent as much time with correction of their work as opposed to anything else. So there is just something fishy going on with that. Are they using cheaper product hoping they get by or the customer just doesn’t do anything if it goes faulty? I don’t know for sure and won’t unless I was inside the business itself. But, all the five star rave reviews on here? The bad luck and irony of multiple problems cannot have just hit me only in such an absurd manner.
I will stress again their honesty though and that is really the last saving grace here.

Honest, quick assessment and repairs, and OUTSTANDING customer service.

I’ve takien my cars here for years. In fact, after I moved from Belleville to Royal Oak, I STILL take my cars here. Why? They guys are honest, reliable and do quality work. And they don’t talk down to you because you’re female.

Agree 100% with Christopher W.‘s review. The guys at Express Tire are the best — honest, good workmanship, and they’ll never try to sell you a service you don’t need. Prices are good and they do all work for your car, not just tires. I’ve been taking my car to them for a few years now and have always been really happy with my service.

You know that feeling. Your car needs work done and the fear hits your stomach, where do you go? Suddenly every car repair shop seems to turn into pariahs, waiting to feast on your ignorance. But then, then you find it, a honest repair shop, where the prices are low, the work dependable and the guys ethical in every way. It exist in my small corner of Belleville and yes it’s worth the extra towing miles to take your car here. We’ve likely saved 1000s of dollars at this place. They have earned our loyalty and you need to try them out. Quick note: This place has lots of loyal customers so expect repairs to take a couple (no more than 2 or 3) days. It can also be faster, so call ahead if that is a concern.

I’ve gotten service from these guys twice, and they’re very good. The first time I came in with a punctured tire, and they had me back out the door in under an hour with a patch for less than $ 20. I was really pleased, so when it was time to get new tires for our RAV 4 we stopped in, and got some very good tires for roughly half what our dealership was going to charge for replacement original equipment tires. They’re understanding of schedule changes, and seem to know their product quite well. The ability to drop your car in the evening is also quite handy.
