Hertz Rent A Car

Shady. I only used this company because my auto insurance said they could bill them directly while my car was getting fixed.
I dropped the car off on Friday early evening. I got a call Monday around 315 saying there was a size able chip on the driver side windshield. I said yeah, right. If I had noticed or suspected anything I would own up to it. What really makes it shady is not only it took them 3 full days to claim this, more importantly I was told there is a ‘flat fee’ they could charge me to fix this. RIGHT. That right there made me question the validity and veracity of this claim. I will be calling my auto insurance company to make them aware of this shady dealing and tell them to stop suggesting hertz as a rental agency.
I told them to send me documentation of this ‘chip’. He took down my email address. The next day I still have not received any evidence. Probably because there was nothing wrong and no damage to actually send me.
Avoid at all costs.

The people at this location are friendly, but be AWARE that if you go over a toll bridge even 1 time a company called Plate Pass will charge you $ 30 for their «service» of overcharging you your toll bill. It’s total garbage and was never explained. It just showed up as a charge on my account a month later. Hertz and Plate Pass both said too bad. Never again!

This is the worst rental car place in my experience. They provided me an old Camry full of bad smell and smoke smell and I had to return it after 10 mins. The staff said sorry with a weird smile. he drove the car to the site right before he gave me the key so he knew that well ! And I was then given a chevo cruise, still old but smell is not crazy. I drove the car across SR520 bridge once then I was charged 33 $ on my credit card for toll! I would never rent at hertz again.

i rented an SUV on October 8, 2013. I requested a RAV-​4 which was their advertised car. Instead I was given a Ford Escape. The car’s interior was the filthiest I have ever seen. Both front seats were covered with dirt stains. The cupholders were covered with spilled coffee. The dashboard was covered with dust. Hertz did not even bother to clean up the spilled coffee. I was in a real time bind so I took the car.
I kept the car for less than 24 hours. I returned it without filling up with gas because I used such a small amount and I was in a hurry.
I did not opt for any of the additional insurance coverages.
MY BILL FOR 1 DAY + 4.5 HOURS WAS $ 169.56.
i learned a very expensive lesson and will return to Enterprise next time I need a rental.

Complaining to the State Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection WORKED! I should get an $ 18 refund on my credit card soon. We all know the «inadvertently» part is baloney, so if you elect the fuel-​purchase option, check your receipts VERY carefully, and protest if they add the 17.2% tax.

Under staffed. Just one guy who didn’t seem to care much about people waiting in line. We waited about 30 mins to be helped, and then waited another 10 minutes when he decided to get the next person in line started off as well. This was a Friday morning.
As another reviewer mentioned, the guy didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry, constantly trying to making casual friendly conversation with each customer while others waited agonizingly in line.
I wish I’d looked up the Unilocal reviews before going here =).
Note that additional drivers always have an extra charge (about $ 13 per day, I believe).

Be very wary of this company. They nickel and dime you to death.
I was getting my car fixed and I was swindled into using this company. My insurance company used these guys and only paid $ 30 a day and the bill amounted to $ 400 because of all the secret squirel hidden charges.

I was getting my car fixed from RnR, best of all body shops I have seen, and insurance agency got me a rental from Hertz. I must say they all under staffed and under-​paid, not very friendly. Though getting the car was fine but returning it was hassle. I waited for them about 30 minutes and nobody showed up to collect the car, I left the car keys at the body shop for Hertz to collect later. I was told I should call them to make sure they inspected the car and no charges will be posted to me. I call the body shop 3 hours after I picked up my car, Hertz still had not picked up the car, and the body shop was closing for long weekend. I called up Hertz and only got that they are too busy and was put on wait for 15 minutes. After which I hung up the phone and called again their CSR just said they know nothing about the car, call tomorrow. What an awful service … never renting from Hertz again.

I had a terrible experience with Hertz and ended up walking out without a car. I made a reservation to rent a minivan for the weekend. I responded to an ad on the Prime card website (for Microsoft employees and spouses) saying «up to 25 percent off or $ 35.00 off weekday or weekend rates.» When I called to make the reservation I confirmed that I could use the special offer of 25 percent, giving them the coupon code that was on the Prime website. I showed up at Hertz at the time I specified for the reservation, where I had to wait for over twenty minutes for the one person working there to give two gentleman visiting from another country directions on how to get in to Seattle, what sites they should see (Snoqualmie Falls? You must go!) and general friendly small talk. I was pleasant and polite while waiting, assuming that I would get the same great service. But no, when I mentioned the Prime card discount, the first thing the man said was «You don’t look like you work at Microsoft!» Nice. Then, when I told him that it was my husband who was the Microsoft employee, I was told that he could not give me the discount — it was for employees only. Sorry, dude, but if you advertise on the Prime card site, you have to go by their rules and Microsoft says I get to use the card. But no problem, I told him that my husband was waiting just outside and I could go and get him. He then told me that I would not be able to drive the car if my husband rented it. No matter, I told him — I really don’t care which one of us drives it. Again, I started to go and get him. But I was interrupted AGAIN. No, no, he said — it’s only a five percent discount anyway, so don’t bother. Whaaaaat? No. It was a twenty-​five percent discount, which I confirmed when I made the reservation. But the Hertz guy just flat out wouldn’t believe me, so despite the fact that I apparently don’t look computer literate, I whipped out my smart phone and showed him the discount. And he still wouldn’t honor it, saying he didn’t know anything about it. Grrrr… I walked out and made other arrangements. I will never consider renting from this company again.

Does returning a car early in the morning, with a filled tank, means automatically getting an ridiculous amount of «Gas and services» charge on your bill? YES if you rent from Hertz!
The bill for our one day rental turned out to be $ 200, $ 140 was attributed to the additional «Gas and services» charge. ridiculous. I did a simple search to see if other people experienced the same problem with Hertz, apparently there are several complaints from customers that they do this to cars returned outside of business hours, even with the tank filled.
Seems like you have to call them to remove this bogus charge, we did and they are currently «reviewing» it and will have the amount «readjusted». what? why can’t this be done before sending the actual bill? why waste everyone’s time to go through this after the extra amount is charged? do they think people won’t find out?
oh yeah, not to mention they also completely disregarded our request to be picked up at our residence instead of going to their lot. We had to call them 30 minutes after the original pick up time to have them drive over.
not sure if this is specifically to Hertz or just this location, but pretty bad experience overall.
