Well, the car (Scarlet) needed her biennial smog check. I checked the hours on Unilocal,and they open at 8:30. I stopped by JL Smog at 8:15 and the door was open and he was ready to go. I handed him the paperwork and he went to town. In just a matter of minutes I paid him ($ 50) and was on my way… Just barely after 8:30…
Jose Luis (JL Smog) is awesome! I have been coming here for years. It’s always GREAT. My cars ALMOST always pass. But when one didn’t — he knew what the problem was, told me how to fix it, and where to take it to have it done. (It is a Test Only place, he does not make the repair.) Being the weekend warrior mechanic that I am, I managed to fix it myself, and went back and it passed.
I don’t know what the going rate is anymore, but the last few times I went elsewhere, I had to wait a long time, and it was just not as pleasant as JL Smog. If he charges more than the average, I am okay with that because his service and professionalism is well above average, and I believe in great service.

My family and me have been coming here for more than 10 years. They are the best!!! Great service, great price and we are always happy with the work he does for us. It’s a bit pricey but it’s Understandable if smog is your only business you have to make your money somehow it’s $ 60 but it was open and no waiting for me I came in the afternoon on a Saturday to avoid the morning rush as I was told on here, overall experience was good it takes about 20 – 30 mins for the whole test maybe less but I’d recommend him definitely! The guy speaks English too so don’t worry :)

Quick service wasn’t busy everyone tries to go Saturday morning went during the week and it was quick and passed.

I came to this location because of a smog check and the slogan of pass or you don’t pay. I was excited and knew the car would pass, its a 99volvo s80, however; upon arriving I was treated with less than par service and the macanic took one look at my car and said he would not smog it. It was frustrating to be turned away like that. Eventually I went to another close place and got it passed there. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Waiting so get there early, I also did not under stand a thing the guy said other then pass lol.
