The Midway Bar

The crowd is a chill bunch of friendly individuals. The prices are AMAZING and it’s everything I like in a bar.
Good beer, good people, cheap. ’nuff said. Don’t come here looking for anything more. We don’t need your kind ’round these parts.

My first time at this bar and WOW what a damn disappointment. My husband kept telling me about how good the micheladas are, and I finally got a chance to try them. We find a seat (1) next to the arcade machine and thought cool! We meet Allie and hand her two single dollars before ordering our drinks for quarters so she does not confuse the change for a tip, she said ok! She walks away and comes back empty handed, we then asked for 2 tall Modelo micheladas and 1 glass bottle. She comes back with three small glass cups and we politely remind her it was two tall cans and I glass bottle. She says, «oh»! A simple apology would have fixed the first round/​confusion. We were willing to keep the incorrect order and still pay for it. Allie grabs the three glass and walks them half way down the bar to only hand them off to a group of people who seemed exited for free drinks. She then comes back with the two micheladas we ordered but also a large mug instead of a glass bottle or a glass bottle and a small glass cup. We didn’t make it a big deal so we payed the tab. My husband had to reminder to bring the the tall can we paid for was not completely poured in to our mug. Fair argument I think! As she brings the half empty tall cans, we ask her for the quarters we requested for the arcade machine. She looks at us like we’re stupid. My 7 year old can take better orders. After being a totally b*tch, Allie walks to the register machine and grabs our eight quarters. She walks up to us like we are worthless, throws the change on the counter, and says «thank you guys»!The inly reason why I gave this place a ONE star is because the drinks are good at least. She got a 25cent tip she still didn’t deserve and the stupid arcade machine doesn’t work.

Midway is a cool little dive bar located on Bellflower Blvd just after passing Fronk’s restaurant. It is quite small and can be easily missed if not paying attention.
I’ve come to this bar on multiple occasions… for birthdays where they give you a beer of your choice in a gigantic mug for free, just to have beers with friends or just to mellow out after work. No matter the occasion, it’s always cool and the service is great.
If you’re looking for mix drinks then you’ll have to head somewhere else because only beers are served. Luckily for myself, I love an ice cold beer. There’s also free wifi as well so connect while visiting to save on using your data.
There’s days where this bar is packed and others where it’s less crowded. I’ve been on both occasions and the vibe never changes making this my go to for dive bars.

There is literally alot to say on this place… Aside from it being small, its a great spot and altho some dont like that its just beer, all i gotta say is micheladas!!! Yummmmmmmm

I was visiting a friend that just moved to LA (where I used to live) and he asked to go to a good bar since I probably know the area better (not really). I just Unilocaled this place, had good reviews and said sure lets go I got the spot. So we headed off not knowing what to expect and I had to say Great service. Surprised since it was only 1 bartender. she was very quick and friendly. I guess the fact that its only beer makes it quicker to attend customers. loved the environment and then at the end, told my friend I had never been there after he thanked me for knowing all the hidden gems. haha the power of Unilocal.

This is one of my favorite hole in the wall bars! I must start off by recommending the michelada! Hopefully you get Chris to make yours because out of all of the ones I had (which are mostly all great) his is the best. He doesn’t put too much tomato juice and it is just perfect! This place has all kinds of deals, you get a bang for your buck because every day of the week there is always some type of special! The bartenders are great and friendly! Some days it can be chill, while others (mostly weekends) it can be full of people with good energy! A lot of locals, but anyone is welcomed!

This is a nice little bar.
The prices aren’t too bad and the service is good.
When it’s packed, look for tables in the back.
In short, they have a good selection of beers, but the place is small. It’s a good place to kick back when they’re aren’t too busy.

My go to bar when I need a brew after work or just want to drink. As everyone else has stated, the Micheladas are amazing. Service is great, enjoy all the bartenders that work there. Love dive bars and this one is definitely in my top 3. Happy it’s only around the corner from me which adds to the whole neighborhood bar feel I get while going to The Midway. Good place to catch up with friends and play music. The bar can definitely get packed and loud. Be prepared to stand if you get there at the wrong time. I usually prefer my dives a little less busy, but The Midway is great anytime. Cheers

In all honesty, my friends and I go for the Micheladas, they’re amazing!!! «Best in Town» they only sell beer and have a good selection of them too. The only down side is that it’s really small, still a great place!

I used to like as the little hole in the wall dive bar, but with the new manager and the bar guy that ID’S me like every two seconds after he poured me a drink at the bar top.
Micheladas are bomb from most of the bartenders but idk if it’s worth all the drama and the sometimes rude service.
My last review got deleted because I got into detail how a female bartender accused us a few times of smoking the greens in the bathroom. BEING AN ENTIRE HYPOCRITE because I’ve witnessed lots go down in that bar. It wasnt us smoking and to be honest I always feel harassed leaving. I used to tip nice too

After adulting so hard during the week, I was in dire need for a brew with friends. ya know to talk about feelings & my mid-​youth crisis…
So initially, we were gonna make the trip to our usual dive Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, but the trip to Hollywood seemed like a pain in the ass. After scrutinizing reviews on local dives, we decided on here.
The place is modest in size, but I don’t care too much about aesthetics, so I was not discouraged. I was just eager to catch up with pals & try the raved about micheladas
In summation, this is a great little dive with tasty micheladas & super cheap beer. It totally gave me that house party vibe with its little outdoor area where a heated beer pong sesh was taking place, which was nice & nostalgic especially in a generation so pretentious.
Anyway, my friends are now up to date with my feels about life, & we didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Would definitely come back
The ONLY con was that someone played Adele’s «Hello» & I became really emo for 6 mins.

The best micheladas! I was on a hunt for the best ones and these definitely made the cut. It’s small but such a chill place to hangout and catch up.

Love coming here with my boyfriend, the micheladas are AMAZING and the bartenders are always very friendly and eager to help you. They only offer beer but definitely one of my favorite bars.

Long story short they have the best micheladas and IPA’S and I don’t even like IPA’S lol

The bartenders here are really friendly and their prices are SUPER reasonable. I’m sure you’ve heard but if you haven’t, they have the BEST micheladas here. My friends really enjoy the snake bites too. Very small but they have extra tables in the back. It can get a little chilly though so if you get there early enough make sure you try to sit at the bar. They have «ladies night» but the guys get their drinks super cheap too lol. $ 3 pints, $ 5 schooners, $ 9 pitchers. Definitely coming back.

This place is perfect to just go chill and have a beer or there bomb miches… Let Matt do it though

I don’t feel like writing about the midway right now. I don’t know how long this review has to be in order for it to post. I tried writing «beer» and it said it was too short. Some bs. I love this place. I like beer. I like girls. Especially when they’re naked. Or dancing on me. This place isn’t the place for that, but they have beer. Toms cool. They have micheladas that cure the hangover. I like tacos. But they don’t have any either. I also like beer. They have that. Hi Meagan. Meagan is cool too. Not as cool as tacos, but she’s aight. If I had to pick between beer, tacos, and Meagan, I’d say beer. Or maybe tacos. Eh, I don’t know. Come here. Drink. Do it!

I never liked micheladas until i had on here. they are legit the best I’ve ever had. followed with cheap beer and a great atmosphere what more can you ask for.
Its a nice little place to chill with a couple of friends and have a cold one. bar tenders and the owner are super chill.
Nice spot for a good time with chill people and good CHEAP brew!

I love the Midway. They have an excellent beer selection (Although I’m not big on beer)
On Mondays if you follow them on Instagram you get a a free pint. Wednesdays is Ladies Night they have even cheaper pints, schooners and pitchers. Yes, it is mostly locals and regulars but they don’t start anything unless someone is being a dumbass. Then you will be evicted swiftly.
The bar and restrooms are super clean. There is always quick and friendly service.
