History

Established in 1995.

Alishia fell in love with the harp at the age of 4, and began her formal studies at the age of 9. After 7 years of lessons, she began playing for weddings on a regular basis at the age of 16. She graduated from Northwestern University with her BA in Harp Performance, studying with Liz Cifani, former harpist of the Chicago Lyric Opera.

Alishia is a wonderful person, as well as an amazing harpist. Harpists have trouble schlepping their 35 kg, very delicate, pedal harps to new cities, but we must also practice daily. Thus, we rely on a network of generous harpists to let us rent. I had to prepare for a gig at my best friend’s wedding in Bellingham, and Alishia opened her home to let me practice on her Style 30 for several hours, and didn’t accept payment. She also also gave me excellent tips on purchasing harps and other harp-​related matters. She had specific advice about the particular venue I was to perform in (Woodstock farm) and is very detail-​oriented. Listen to the stuff on her website; it’s awesome!

Alishia really went above and beyond for our wedding. She adapted two Robyn songs to the harp for us, and made them sound amazing on the harp. It gave so much meaning to our ceremony to have these songs incorporated (don’t judge, Robyn is the shit) and we really appreciated her efforts. When we went to listen to her progress on the adaptation, we both totally cried, so we knew she was on the right track. Highly recommended!

Alishia performed at our wedding at the Bellevue Art Museum, we initially opted for the smaller harp as we didn’t want to spend too much and cash was getting tight, but the little extra money to get the larger harp was well worth it! It was a beautiful instrument to look at for the guests, and many were wowed, we had LONG delays during the ceremony and alishia improvised so well the entire time. she kept her eye on everything that was going on and switched to the next songs accordingly. we estimated a 15 min– 20 min ceremony but because of the unexpected delays, it prolonged to 30 min, making alishia extend her time, which was not a problem at all. i would definitely recommend her to any bride and groom, as she was very fun to work with as well.

Amazing!!! We had Alishia play her beautiful harp at our wedding in Cllnton on Whidbey Island and she was absolutely the best to work with. She is as nice and relaxed as can be. More importantly, her music is spectacular. All of our guests were very impressed with her grace and beautiful music. We absolutely loved her! Thank you Alishia for helping us have such a wonderful Wedding!!!
