Bellmore Taxi

Worst taxi company I’ve ever experienced.
The guy answering the phone is so rude and I am not the only one who thinks so by the many reviews on Unilocal.
All the cabs smell, are dirty and are falling apart.
I’ve been in cabs that smell like smoke, torn seats, and bare floors. Whomever answers the phone does not give a crap about customer service.
The good thing is that This place will soon go out of business if they keep operating like they are and expect people to still use them now that people have better options like Über.

I can’t imagine how anyone has had a positive experience with these guys. I’ve used them many times only because there are no other options, and every time I dread it. I call to schedule a pick up in advance, they give you an attitude and tell you to call back. I call for a cab without giving advance notice, and they send me on a wild goose chase directing me to their cab service locations in every other town — each of which yell at me and tell me to call Bellmore because that’s where I’m located. Cabs wreak of smoke and drivers are often very rude (though occasionally they’re friendly). The craziest experience I had with these guys was one time I scheduled a pickup from my house to JFK Airport, and heard the dispatcher over the radio say «Sorry if I’m not making any sense right now, I’m pretty DRUNK!» Hopefully Über takes over this area soon so I never have to bother with this cab service.

I needed a cab really fast, because my original flight was canceled. I called the dispatcher and he gave me an attitude said I needed to reserve a car a few days in advance when going to the airport. Told him I would kick his ass if didn’t get a cab to my house ASAP. He sent a cab and the driver had tourettes. I have nothing against someone with aliment, but the driver was driving 20 MPH on the highway and with the tick he had everytime he twitched he would almost pull the car off the road. Thank god I got there in one piece and just made my flight. I would only use this car service if you have too…

Deserves no stars. Awful customer service on multiple occasions. Called once to get a cab to the train station (less than a mile away) — 45 min before my train. Said they couldn’t give me a time frame bc «a train was letting out right now.» My friend needed a cab one night — same story. They said they had no time frame and no cars. So basically they want to only pick up people getting off the train. I ended up calling Über twice — much nicer and more reliable.

The cab company is now owned by all island yellow and they’re absolutely the worst cab company in the world. A few of the drivers are actually nice but most are rude assholes who treat you like crap. If you call up to book a cab they say to call back when you need it and that they don’t do time calls yet when you call up when you need it they say they don’t have any cabs and that wherever you’re trying to be at a certain time isn’t going to happen. They also cannot manage to pick you up from the waiting room at the train station. The other night my family and I were coming home from the airport late around 12am and it was pouring out, so I called up all island yellow and explained that the train was in Freeport and that we would be in Bellmore in a few minutes and could they please pick us up at the waiting room so we didn’t have to walk in the rain across the street with all our stuff and get wet. Well the guy was as rude as could be and even after I asked twice he said its first come first serve and you have to cross the street we cannot pick you up even though the taxi stand is across the street from the train station and it would’ve cost them nothing to get us there. Needless to say we got soaked walking to the stand but luckily we got one of the nice drivers but the guy behind the desk was just such an asshole. It was late and there was no one else taking a taxi so there was no reason they couldn’t get us especially since we were 3 people so we filled a car. If you manage to get the black driver or the one with shoulder length hair during the day you’re lucky they’re the nice ones. At night the chubby one is really nice. During the day if you get the guy with the long ponytail watch out he’s rude and thinks he deserves a big tip of more than $ 1 for a 5 min ride even though he wasn’t nice at all during the ride. He’ll give you a dirty look and actually have the gaul to express how he feels he should have a bigger tip by saying things like «what that’s my tip» or «really.» If you get an older guy who wears a cap he’s also pretty bad he’s rude and doesn’t even open the trunk and try to help you with luggage in the rain. He shows up about 5 minutes early and gets annoyed with you. Overall if you can avoid it don’t take a taxi from all island yellow. They’re rude, unreliable and just downright not worthy of the business. I’m a very lazy person and I’d rather walk then give them more business. It makes it very hard knowing that if I’m in a spot I would not be able to get a taxi. One time I actually missed my train into the city and was almost late to my class because they failed to show up.

its st patty’s day i didnt wanna drive… i got the nicest cab driver in the world and he was awesome, it was 7.50 and it was worth it. i highly recommend

I gave them 1 star since I can’t give a zero… the person who answered the phone was rude, and acted as if I was bothering him by requesting a cab… the driver of the cab that did show up barely got me to the train station on time, and I was forced to share a cab with sev er al other people since apparently they pick people up in the same manor as a school bus… if you have any other option to get to the train, I would take that
BTW, they are doing buiness as «All Island Taxi» now… and the service still sucks as much as when it was bellmore taxi

I just returned from a trip this morning and I have to say that Bellmore Taxi rocks! The dispatcher was courteous and helpful on the phone and the drivers were personable and professional. They arrived on time in clean updated cabs, loaded up my bags and delivered me safely and quickly to the airport and back home again. I will continue to use Bellmore Taxi and I highly recommend them.

They will listen to adults but when a young adult calls they won’t be as diligent. I asked to be picked up and they came 10 – 15 mins late as they always do for me. Where as when my dad calls, they will be there early or the latest on time. They also pulled up to the house next to mine and as I was getting in a guy working at my neighbor’s house said that he had just called for that taxi.
Their phone service on the other hand has I’m proved.

The person answering the phone was extremely rude. Told me that they were too busy to pick me up at the time I wanted and to call another cab company. Terrible customer service!

I would have given them five stars except I didn’t actually ride in the cab, my parents did. However, the driver and the dispatcher were super nice. My parents needed a ride to the airport except they weren’t sure what time they were leaving. So I called Bellmore taxi and said I needed a car for 3:30, Bellmore Taxi said no problem.
Then my parents called (they were stuck in traffic on their way to Bellmore) and said they needed a car for 5:00, so I called Bellmore taxi back and said I needed the car for 5pm. The dispatcher called someone into work to make sure my parents would have a ride to JFK because they were very busy the evening this happened and when I first called Bellmore Taxi wasn’t even sure if they could have anyone available.
Fast forward to 5pm, driver arrives, picks parents up and all is well. That is until my mom calls me and says she left a bag on the car! So I quickly call Bellmore Taxi, the dispatcher calls the driver and the driver returns to where he dropped my parents off to give them the forgotten bag. No extra charge and they were super polite about it!

I’m upgrading them as they seem to have gotten rid of the bad drivers they had before. My wife has taken them a few times now and each time had a good experience and when she told them about past bad experiences they have said she should tell management right away. Let’s hope it keeps up.
