A great find! We had Sunday Brunch in the dining area which is very modern and makes you feel as if you are in a fancy hotel rather than a street in Belmont. Had the zucchini bread french toast which was AMAZING! It came with a maple cream cheese glaze that I couldn’t get enough of! My boyfriend had a California omelette which was chock-full of fresh produce. We stopped by the deli bar and were given many free samples and ended up walking out with a tub of hummus and curry chicken salad. There is a great selection of wines we will have to come back and explore!

Our new date night spot!!! Just got back from a great dinner with my husband and 6 month old. We enjoyed awesome food, wine and atmosphere. The owner was also super nice and friendly and gave us some great appetizer samples to try while we were waiting for our food. Also I could eat their kale chicken caesar daily! 10 stars! Will be back :-)

O. Em. Cheese. I was a first time customer as of today and I am suitably impressed. Having lived in Belmont, I’ve seen this location through all of it’s iterations(White Hen anyone) and this is hands down the best. I got the Green Goddess sandwich which was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. I asked the manager if she would sell me some of their pesto because it is so delicious! It was a tiny bit on the expensive side, and I wish it had come with a side, but man that was so yummy. An excellent selection of beer, wine, and liquor as well!

The manager was incredibly friendly and really cared about our satisfaction. The food was amazing, came out very quickly, and the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I think I found my new go-to restaurant!

This is a gem in the quiet north Belmont neighborhood. They have a good selection of delicious warm and cold food. Things are fresh and healthy too. For instance their vegetables are organic as the owner told me, and lamb burger was not full of grease or mayonnaise sauce. They also have a large variety of wine. The store owner is very friendly.

A great place for brunch — it’s not crowded, plenty of parking, and the food is excellent. I thought that $ 11 might be too much for a(lamb) burger, but it was HUGE, seriously 2 meals worth. All the toppings were fresh and crisp, and the lamb was very flavorful — served with freshly fried potatoes and a side of house sriracha mayo, mmm! The owner was around and very gracious — introduced himself to all the patrons in the store and seemed genuinely happy to be there and very helpful. There are lots of yummy looking things on the menu, plus a fancy coffee bar and pastry shelf, I am definitely coming back! What a nice addition to the neighborhood!

I love this plane so much as it’s right next to where I live. They serve great pastries, coffee, and sandwiches! They provide such a beautiful dining place and this is the perfect place for breakfast/brunch!

Have been back three times for the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich– by far the best in Boston. Eggs perfectly cooked, bacon, avocado, arugula on raisin bread — incredible! Coffee is excellent too! Adiós SBUX.

This is the place that Belmont needs! Delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The entire space is clean, beautiful and comfortable. You can tell everything is approached thoughtfully from the tasteful place settings to the wonderful food to the genuinely kind staff. The owner spent a good deal of time talking with us during our visit for brunch. I wish all establishments in Belmont were this nice!

We just finished our first Brunch at The Loading Dock. I’m thrilled to have another great dining option in Belmont. My lamb burger was very tasty as were the sweet potato fries. The chicken and waffles featured crispy fried chicken. We will definitely bring our friends back for another Sunday Brunch.

First time in. Ordered chicken sumac bistro sandwich– chicken was dry as well as the focaccia bread. That’s the reason I gave it 3 stars. Mayonnaise was more than I expected on a Mediterranean sandwich. This was also $ 10.95– pricey for what it was. You can try the dishes they make in store– served in plastic containers that are unfortunately not recycled, even though the recycling bin is 10 feet away. Cute place, nice to have in neighborhood, and am hoping they do well:) Beer and wine selection is good for the size of the store. Friendly people.

The Loading Dock underwent a long transformation from a convenience store/deli to a high end food emporium at really good prices. My wife and I wondered what was going on during the long construction and then stopped in one night after it opened during an evening walk. The owner was very friendly and invited us to sample a number of the prepared foods. Everything was excellent and he also mentioned that the bakery is features the works of a talented and experience french baker. It’s a convenient location for us with lots of easy parking(and right of the bike trail coming from the Alewife T station to Belmont). I have become a regular since the coffee is great and I do love baked goods. Less often I buy lunch or other items for dinner at home and am always really pleased. Since they sell bottled beer and wine and it has a nice selection, we have taken advantage of that although my wife still does her big wine shopping at her regular place. Last week when I was in picking up pastries and other baked goods to bring to a friend’s house(they were quite well received), the counter person mentioned that they were now serving Sunday brunch. I went by on Sunday and both my son(17) and I loved our meals. It’s $ 10 – 15 for anything from a lamb burger to a Mediterranean eggs Benedict. I’m reluctant to post about the brunch because I plan on becoming a regular for them and I don’t want to have to wait too long for a table if it gets overly popular…

Wonderful neighborhood hot-spot with an urban vibe that has great service(plus is free from the craziness of Fresh Pond traffic!). For me, the Loading Dock will become: 1) The new alternative to ready-made foods I normally buy at Whole Foods when I don’t feel like cooking: there are lots of yummy fresh menu options to take home, including cashew curry chicken salad, hummus, tabbouleh, and a tasty dill beet tzatziki(they also seem to have lots of sweets, and I tried the heavenly éclair); and 2) A new hangout: it has a stylish atmosphere perfect for my next coffee date, and the elegantly designed patio is perfect for soaking up the rays! Will definitely be back! PS Didn’t try the coffee yet, but am looking forward to it!

My experience at the Loading Dock was nothing but positive. The service was great, the food was fresh, homemade and healthy. Although it was a little pricey it was worth every penny. Their sweet potato pistachio hummus is awesome.

I really want these guys to do well. Their food is really good — no lacking in quality there. The only thing I have to complain about is the pricing. The food is all a little bit too expensive. I can get food of the same quality anywhere else for cheaper. $ 11 for a sandwich at a market? Com’on. And the beer is very oddly priced. It needs a serious price reevaluation. Some beers are priced decently — $ 11 for a 6 pack of Dogfish head 60 minute is okay… but $ 19 for a 12 pack of corona? I’ve never seen it priced even remotely close to that high anywhere else. ever. Loading dock– if you are reading this I think you should take it as constructive criticism. My roommates/friends really want to buy from you guys– you are so close and convenient. But your prices(mostly on beer) are crazy. Bring them down to average, or even slightly above average and I will be buying beer from you every week.

A lovely addition to the neighborhood. Gorgeous on the exterior, pristine on the inside. Owner is aiming to please, happy to give samples. Everything I tried was tasty. HUGE sandwiches, priced accordingly, could be shared. NICE wine selection, according to my hub. They still have gallons of milk if you run out. High hopes for the unexpected but shiny/glam Miami looking dining room…

Great, unexpected addition to the neighborhood, right by the train tracks — a spotless little grocery/deli store with delicious sandwiches, curry chicken salad, bakery goods and reasonably priced wines! The owner was incredibly friendly, giving lots of samples of the various prepared salads and dips(the sweet potato hummus was delicious), making a custom sandwich for my picky 8-year-old, and humorously tolerating my 2-year-old’s methodical reorganization and stacking of their tempting spice tins. Artisanal chocolates(chocolate caramel, praline, pink lemonade, strawberry cream) were delicious bites for dessert at just $ 1.50 apiece. We ate outside at the café tables with pretty white umbrellas. Happy to support a local business with such a friendly and hardworking owner!

My family stopped here on a Sunday evening. We got sandwiches and a salad(red quinoa, tomato and cucumber — super delicious) and sat at one of the tables outside. The space inside is really nice. It’s a small market + liquor store + fresh prepared foods + sandwich shop. The sandwiches were great, and the treats in the dessert case looked beautiful but we didn’t try any of those. I’d love to see another vegetarian option or two on the sandwich menu, but they already have a few, so I was happy with that. The guy behind the counter greeted us and all other customers who came in with a warm welcome. Little things like this make a difference! The Loading Dock is just down the block from the Fitchburg Cutoff Bikepath(which is the path that leads from Brighton Ave to Alewife), so we took a walk along that path and into the Alewife Reservation after dinner. This is a nice little restaurant/shop. We’ll be back.

I noticed this while driving down Brighton Ave and stopped in. I tasted a couple of items and purchased two selections from the prepared foods section including a chicken breast and the sweet potato hummus. Both were very fresh, tasty and obviously prepared with love and care. I also purchased two yummy scones from the impressive pastry selection. Lastly, I know my way around wine and these folks seem to know what they are choosing so although it’s a small selection it’s a fine one to browse. This is a family owned place that is clean, friendly and welcoming. If you are someone who typically gets prepared foods at Whole Foods in Cambridge(Fresh Pond) or Pemberton’s Market think about checking this place out. It’s nearby and you have the opportunity to support quality small business. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the selection is not as big as I hope it may become after you all start shopping there!

Just stopped by the soft opening of the café/store, and I am SUPEREXCITED at how good the quality of the food I bought is — since this place is walking distance from home and will surely become a huge boost to the area, currently a kinda sad little strip mall despite some of the interesting stores there. FIrst off, the owner did a really beautiful transformation of the physical space, it almost takes you aback how nice it is given the location — and he managed to receive a liquor license so I’m guessing that will be what first gets people in the door. There will be a restaurant as well but for right now what is open is the liquor store and a café/sandwich place. I bought prepared containers from the grab-and-go section, perfect lunch sizes. A surprisingly light and flavorful baba ganoush, a really fresh and well-done black-eye pea, roasted corn and pepper salad, and a zaatar and cheese scone(yes, you read that right, as soon as I read it I knew he was onto something, it did not disappoint) — all really well prepared, flavorful, apparently all made or baked in-house, for a total bill coming in under $ 10. Yippee! Oh I am so, so happy and relieved at such high quality food, to match such a beautiful space! I can’t wait to see what else the owner has in store!
