History

Established in 2013.

Founded in September of 2013 by Dr. Jim Thornburg, a native or Portland Oregon. Dr Jim and his family moved to Bend and purchased Adventure Chiropractic. A change in the name but not a change in patient care. Adventure Chiropractic was well known for their relationships that they built with their patients and Dr Jim wants to continue that vision with Central Sport & Spine. Dr Jim graduated from University of Western States in Portland Oregon with his Doctorate of Chiropractic and he completed a Master degree in Exercise and Sport Science at the same time. These programs helped Dr. Jim to find a wonderful focus in working with the athletic population. He considers himself a sports Chiropractor, but is able to help all types of conditions.

He has carried his passion for sports throughout his life and it has helped to shape his interest in Chiropractic and Sports Science. Dr. Jim (as his patients call him) received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho in April 2009. He knew he wanted to become a Chiropractor and so Dr. Jim then pursued his Doctorate of Chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland Oregon. UWS is a leader amongst Chiropractic schools, and is leading the way with their dual degree program. While studying for his Chiropractic degree Dr. Jim was also enrolled in the Masters of Sport and Exercise Science.
