Econo Lodge

We love this place. Yes, it’s an inexpensive motel so no bells & whistles but it’s clean & conveniently located to old town Bend. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They accept dogs too. We actually walk to town from the room & it’s just a little over a half mile. We always stay here when we come to Bend for the past 10+ years. I recommend this no frills motel.

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Modern updates, clean, good heater, nice TV, free wifi. Fresh smelling. We reserved day-​of through Priceline and got a rate of $ 59 including taxes and fees. Well worth it!

What ridiculousness. We pricelined this motel just looking for a place to crash on our road trip to Washington. We were really excited to check out Bend, otherwise we would have stopped sooner in a smaller town where we might not had encountered the issues we did.
First, the front desk wrote the wrong room number on our key packet. After 3 attempts at using the key, the door opened and a half naked man appeared along with more pot smoke than I could imagine that room could even hold. After mumbling an apology, I walked back to the car and looked at the small print on our rental contract. Ahhh, wrong room.
We finally settled into the room and caught the second showing of American Horror Story (yay), and proceeded to relax and go to sleep. Except, there would be little to no sleep with the crackheads staying around us. I could hear them talking through the walls, banging the walls and walking back and forth past our room. All. Night. Long. Husband is pissed, and decided at 4am we were leaving. We’re pretty much skipping Bend now completely, which is pretty sad considering we drove three hours out of our way to go there.
The room itself was okay, pretty much what I expected for the price, but I have stayed at many motels in this price range where you can actually sleep. I guess next time I down the extra money to stay somewhere the crackheads can’t afford.

Overall this was a great place to stay for the budget-​minded traveler! The room was minimal but very clean, staff was friendly and it was only a 10 minute walk to downtown Bend. The breakfast was very minimal, but you can get an English muffin and some coffee, which worked fine for us! It’s nothing fancy but was a great price so would definitely stay again.

What an utter pile of Shit. The Best Western we stayed at the previous night was like a suite, very nice, and cheaper. Econolodge is a 1 star hotel because I can’t give it a zero. Stayed here after 10 hours of driving. The rough receptionist was unfriendly, rude, and slow. It was packed, and there was nowhere to park. The room was a step below Motel 6, and the A/​C was garbage. Many of the lamps were missing switches. Bedding very itchy, wouldn’t be surprised if there were fleas. Bedding just looked like it was made without being cleaned. And what’s with the floors? A cheap fake wood? Every step is loud enough to wake your neighbors. 147 $ for one night at a 1* hotel. DO NOT stay here. Oh and the Wi-​Fi doesn’t work. Receptionist said it’s the signal… umm no. This place sucks

Fleas. Wouldn’t have upset me so much if the staff actually cared. There’s much worse you could get from a cheap hotel, but still not fun and not actually that cheap.

I don’t ask for much when I stay at a Econo Lodge. All I really want is a clean room and a clean bed. Both beds had strands of hair throughout. The pillows were stained and also had hair attached. We were so tired after a very long drive the thought of changing rooms (to what?) was to much so we pulled out our sleeping bags in slept in them. If I had not gotten the room for free from Choice Hotel reward points I would have complained to the management. Guess the adage «you get what you pay for» really applied in this case.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. The room was large and clean. The bed had a pillowtop and was very comfy. A shower with a tub. We had a large flat screen tv. The staff is very friendly. The price was 77 after tax, which I feel is very reasonable. The hotel is very near a Walgreens and Safeway, and only half a mile from beautiful and hip downtown Bend. The breakfast was the only thing that could have been a bit better. No milk or cereal. Just oatmeal and muffins.

It is sad when your teen son is staying at a nicer hotel than you are…
He was a few blocks away at the Bend Three Sisters Inn and I wish that I could have joined him, although I’m sure he didn’t mind having me out of sight.
The Econo Lodge is a budget hotel and an older property along the busy 3^rd Street. My stay was during the peak summer season on a particularly popular weekend, so I didn’t get the low rate mentioned by others. Kudos for the cleanliness of the room and easy access to downtown Bend (by car, not by foot). Unfortunately that is where the praise essentially ends.
Probably the most minimal continental breakfast I’ve seen at a hotel. Packets of oatmeal you mix with hot water are about as close as you get to a hot breakfast. They also had under ripe tangerines, that were essentially inedible. Seating is a couple of tables at registration. There is a small outdoor pool across the parking lot next to Kayo’s Roadhouse.
My least favorite aspect of the hotel is the layout. It is an old style hotel with exterior hallways running the length of the property along the parking lots. The only windows in your room are along the hallway and there isn’t a privacy shade, so you either have the blackout curtains closed and you’re in a dark room, or have them open for everyone to see in as they walk by. And if you are on the first floor, that means cars parking facing your room.
The room is basic and mine had two queen beds, a flatscreen TV, mini-​fridge, microwave and in-​room coffee set up at the sink. While the TV is upgraded, and they do have HBO, it is basic cable quality, not hi-​def. The free wi-​fi reception was fine. My bathroom was clean, but like another reviewer, the drain was slow so you end up standing in a few inches of dirty water by the end of your shower.
My experience with the staff upon check-​in and check-​out was fine.

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel for the budget-​minded person! My husband and I have stayed at this hotel on 2 different occasions and during both times were impressed by the cleanliness of the room, the hot continental breakfast and the nice service. We found it to be a very comfortable place to stay, and quite a steal for the price!

The location was easy to find, and not far from the highway. The room was clean, and the people were nice. The breakfast wasn’t thaaaat continental. I’d still stay again, though, because it was a good price.

Pleasantly pleased to have stayed here just prior to the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Reasonably priced, excellent customer service. Decent continental breakfast. It’s just okay. The room had a fridge, which I was happy about. Pretty good place for the $.

Believe me when I say that I’ve stayed in cheap hotels and I’m accustomed to just having the basics. I am not picky about where I stay. Having said that, here’s our experience.
Drove 10 hours. We were exhausted and:
–Arrived at Bend Econolodge and the person who checked us in was rude, never smiled, and looked annoyed that we were there
–Our keys didn’t work on the first try and it was somehow our problem
–The room was 90 degrees when we walked in and it took 2 hours to cool it down
–The sound on the tv didn’t work
–The carpet had wet stains on it
–At 4:30am, a truck fired its engine under our window and it went on for 15 minutes
–The bed smelled terrible
–There were 3 choices for the wifi the password we were given only allowed us to access the weakest signal. The strongest signal was inaccessible.
We will never stay here again, nor will we stay in an Econolodge.

ECONO Lodge. Not LUXURY Lodge, or the Hilton but way better than Motel 6. Just the place for when you’re low on cash but you need to crash for a night. This one is quiet, comfy and clean. Bathroom recently remodeled, small fridge and microwave, 4 cup coffee machine, iron and hair dryer.

Decent location and easy to get to off the highway. About 20 minute drive to Mt. Bachelor even in light snow.
Big parking lot, perfect for our giant Suburban. The hotel room itself was clean, typical of most Econo Lodges I’ve been to. No weird smells or stains. The bathroom was remodeled nicely and was very clean, however the drain was a bit slow. Can’t really complain though, the bathrooms are always the scariest parts of hotel rooms and I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw this one. It even has a small window!
Front desk was amicable enough. Forgettable, but very cordial and no complaints. WI fi was free, but very shaky and sometimes slow. When possible, we tried to steal from the nearby café.
I recommend this place if you’re looking for a cheap place, short stay in Bend.

$ 59 bucks with pet… good for the economy.
