We bought two houses and sold one with Anita and her partner Liz. They are amazing! They worked tirelessly to find us the perfect home in a very competitive market. They are attentive, creative, and diligent. The helped us negotiate the best offer possible and once we bought the house they provided wonderful recommendations for contractors.
We cannot recommend them enough if you are buying or selling a home in the east bay.

Anita helped us buy our first home in Oakland after working with us for over a year (!). Working with Anita was GREAT! She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the market and the area, is a sharp negotiator, and was so willing to walk us through every step of the process. We just bought our first home in South Berkeley with Anita as our agent. We had a great experience working with her, in fact, this was the first place we put an offer in on! Our offer was not the highest one made, so I credit Anita’s good advice about contingencies, as well as her tough negotiating for the fact that we were sold this home! The sellers had a quick turnaround time and Anita stayed right on the ball with us and our lender, giving us reminders and updates every step of the way. And since it will have been vacant for almost two months when we finally move in next week, Anita even sent out her gardner to do some yard upkeep for us – very helpful. We had a great experience working with Anita and are grateful that we found her.

Having found a very desirable house in the Richmond Annex, her expertise in this competitive market helped us craft the perfect offer so that were were able to get ours accepted over 15 others.
Anita has great integrity and really cares about her clients. She’s conscientious, efficient, intelligent and so nice to work with that she even made the stressful process of home buying fun. We’ve recommended Anita to friends who have all found wonderful houses in a relatively short time.

Anita helped us buy our Berkeley home eight years ago and when we moved to the midwest last year there was no one else we would ask to sell our home but Anita. She just simply knows the market — she knows what to do and not do to your house to encourage interest (and she manages all of that), she handles unexpected issues with ease, and she works miracles at the Open House showing your home. We simply had the best experience and an outcome we secretly hoped for but didn’t dare say out loud, until we got it, thanks to Anita.

As a nervous first-​time homebuyer, I had a fantastic experience working with Anita and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. It’s hard to know what to highlight from the experience, from getting to know the (competitive! whoa!) East Bay buying market to finally closing on our charming, move-​in-​ready 1917 bungalow. But here goes!
Anita is exceptionally trustworthy, honest, and reasonable. I always felt she was looking out for us. Her tone is just right – spending time with her, she’s patient and straightforward, with a good sense of humor. She talked us through what we could afford in the area and recommended a consciencious mortgage broker. She drove us all over, getting to know East Bay neighborhoods, and exploring every option– from Berkeley and Emeryville condos, to fixer-​uppers, to short sales, to the great Oakland house we ended up with. She emailed lists of relevant open houses and was honest with us about the benefits and drawbacks of each house and neighborhood we saw. I always felt her advice was realistic and right for us as individuals.
We never felt pressure from her to buy a house we didn’t like or to bid out of our budget. We never felt rushed to make a decision. And yet, the housing market around here requires fast action and she was always poised and ready to move into gear when we were ready: she pushed paperwork through, getting our bids in on time, getting houses inspected. Anita was ready to do everything it took to help us win the house we wanted, but with her, somehow things always stayed sane.
She was great during closing, which could have been a really stressful time. She went out of her way to protect us as the former tenant of the house slooowwwly moved out, as we lined up repair work that had to be done ASAP so we could we could stop paying rent on our apartment, etc. Anita made herself available for even small questions about things that seemed beyond her job description, even after we had closed and moved in.
As other reviewers have said, she goes above and beyond, you can trust her, and she always has your back. Anita is a great choice!

Anita is awesome. We worked with her last year to find our new home in Berkeley. We had been looking for a while on our own and were feeling frustrated with the search process. Another realtor in SF pointed us toward Anita, and we knew from our first meeting that she was knowledgeable, insightful and dedicated.
She patiently stuck with us for months while we hemmed and hawed about which houses to actively pursue. When the bidding started to get crazy, Anita wasn’t afraid to tell us when she thought something wasn’t worth it and when it was.

In 2010 Anita helped me buy my first home with my then-​husband — a foreclosed condo in a great Oakland neighborhood (see my original review, below). Fast-​forward three years, and we needed to sell it. I immediately called Anita, while my ex-​husband hit it off with Cheyenne Ward, an agent he met at an open house in the neighborhood.
Anita and Cheyenne paired up to help us sell, and what could have been an extremely sticky situation was managed flawlessly.
Throughout the entire process, I felt that Anita had my back. She made sure that I was always comfortable with any decision made, and used her vast amount of experience to secure a painter and a stager we could afford in record time. She and Cheyenne priced our home perfectly, had it painted and staged within a week, and had it sold for a great profit in a matter of a month. It was way more than I could have hoped for, and I am so thankful.

It can be scary to sell or buy a home and Anita and her partner Liz did everything they could to make use feel comfortable and get us the best price for our home… which they did in spades. Anita also has a endless roster of people to help you through the housing process. Need the house painted? She’s got the right person. Require movers? She knows the company.

Anita was recommended to us by the realtors who sold our house in San Francisco. Head’s up home buyers and sellers: there is a network of amazing professionals out there who are there to guide you. We feel so, so lucky to have found it.
The Mr. and I knew we wanted to live in Oakland, but we didn’t know a ton about all the various neighborhoods. We gave Anita our wish list, and she introduced us to areas we didn’t know existed. She’s sharp, patient, honest and knows her market inside and out. At every open house we went to, when the realtor would ask who our agent was, we got the same response, «Oh, Anita! Everyone loves Anita.» There’s a reason for that.
When we finally found an amazing house, Anita worked really hard to help us get it – which wasn’t super easy. But she’s got strategies, and knows how to get what you want. We bid on only one house. And we got it! Pretty much entirely due to her guidance.
If you want to buy a home in Oakland/​Berkeley/​Alameda, you could not do better than Anita.

I dreaded a lot before I started my first home searching process and I really had no clue where to start. I read through pages and pages of posts on redfin/​trulia etc and decided that I really want to work with a buyer’s agent that I can personally trust.
I naturally turned to Unilocal as I was searching for signs from others’ experiences. But to my dismay, many seem to be written by people with only one or two reviews in total (a sign of astroturfing/​fake reviews to me), not to mention some have a really sketchy filtered/​unfiltered review ratio. By pure chance that I found Anita’s page and all reviews seem to be from real Unilocalers. I decided to take an interview with her and so far my experience has been nothing short of fabulous.
She has been extremely patient and helpful working with me and has listened to all my needs very carefully. She even taught me all the problems and things to look out for when buying a home (bolted foundation/​sheathing cripple wall/​drainage etc). Furthermore, she would tell me exactly which homes are not suitable to my needs and turn me AWAY from those homes. That’s something that I truly value from a buyer’s agent, knowing all the typical incentives etc of getting a transaction done asap.
I’m still in the searching stage so far and I will definitely update once I get my first home through Anita (hopefully soon).

We initially got referred from someone who had made charts (!!!) of realtors and what he was looking for… and he chose Anita who sold him a home.
We started looking for a home around 1 – 2 years ago, going in phases of starting and stopping. Anita was so patient with us and yet so inspired to show us properties that were a good fit for us, regardless of the outcome. After taking a break of 4 – 6 months we were casually looking when Anita found us the listing of our dreams! We just bought a condo in upper Rockridge and we are thrilled! She knew just what we were looking for and negotiated an amazing deal for us. Since we are first time home buyers, she also helped up with all aspects of the escrow as well as getting bids for contractors to do work on our home before we moved in. It seemed as though we were her only clients, she worked tirelessly day and night to help our deal come through in a month or so!
She took extremely good care of us from the begining of the process to end and I would be happy to share our experiences with others.

My fiancée and I recently bought a home and Anita was our realtor and was awesome. We were first time home buyers, so you can imagine we had a ton of questions, concerns — you name it and she was great about answering all of them.
We actually found the property on our own, and contacted Anita afterwards to help us finalize the details. What was great, was she took us to a bunch of additional properties in the neighborhood to make sure were found the «one» and also showed us other neighborhoods to consider. She then helped us with making the offer, all of the inspections (we had a bunch), and has continued to follow up afterwards. We appreciated Anita’s help all along the way and would definitely recommend her for a realtor.

My boyfriend and I moved to the Bay Area almost a year ago and knew we wanted to buy a house, but we just didn’t know where. This is where Anita swooped in like a superhero to help us out. I found her based off the Unilocal reviews and I highly recommend her. Buying a house can be scary, but she broke it down into small bites and explained everything in the process. She is so on top of everything — every little detail doesn’t pass her by. She drove us around through neighborhoods she thought we’d like (El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, North Oakland), telling us the local hotspots (she’s so knowledgeable!). She would tell us if she thought a property was a good buy or a dud. I would often email her listings I would find online and she would find out the story with them or let us know if it was in a good/​bad location within a few minutes/​hours of sending the email — SUPER QUICK. She took all our needs into consideration (being close to public transit one with a large backyard and a moderate priced non-​fixer), and found us the bestest house. Of course we had put bids on other houses and had been coming in 2^nd. She would always tell us to put our best offer we can. She was great at motivating us to keep on trying too. And when it came time to bid on this house she was a trooper through our negotiation with the seller. And it finally happened. The house was listed at the top of our price range and we got the price down. We couldn’t have done it without Anita’s excellent help.
We ended up buying a 2 bedroom/​2 bath totally remodeled house in North Oakland (near the Berkeley boarder). We have super nice neighbors, near public transit, have a backyard for the dog and near some great local hot spots. Anita couldn’t have done any better.

Whoa! I’ve been meaning to write this review for ages, and with this new wave of friends looking for homes, seemed like a good time to write this up.
When my better half and I decided to look into buying a house… it was a mix of trepidation (more like sheer terror) and common sense (rent was starting to make mortgages look more appealing…). Add to that very involved parental influences on both sides (my mother was the last inspection – I flew her in to hear all her thoughts on all levels of mind boggling minutae… remind you of someone? …me, perhaps?). And add to that the fact that other than price limits, we had no idea of what we were looking for.
Enter Anita, who was calm, knowledgeable, and a natural communicator/​negotiator. She worked hard to show us the gamut of what was available (and some of what wasn’t, just so we understood the vagaries of East Bay living), and even managed to discern what it was we were looking for. Through the entire process, she took the time to strategize and advise us on every step and detail. Her friendly professional demeanor meant that we could count on her to navigate relationships with the sellers, inspectors and was gracious and an excellent communicator with both sets of parents.
We couldn’t be more happy with the entire process, and with our home. Thanks to Anita, we managed to find a place that we love, where we hope to make a home for many years to come. If you need a real estate agent, I can’t recommend Anita highly enough.
