Description

Specialties

My approach to therapy is warm, interactive, experiential and engaged. I am not a therapist who just sits back silently, distant from your process. I believe in the profoundly transformative power of an authentic therapeutic relationship. In such a relationship, not only is safety and trust made paramount, but it is one in which your own innate inner resources and strengths are honored and placed at the center of our work together.

My work with both couples and individuals balances the need for addressing immediate, distressing symptoms –anxious or depressive thinking, marital conflict, rage, etc– with helping create long-term, lasting positive change.

History

Established in 2010.

My Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology is from the California Institute of Integral Studies in SF, where I also completed two years of graduate and post-graduate training at the Pierce Street Integral Counseling Center. Additionally, I have completed advanced training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), both humanistic and highly effective models for personal and interpersonal growth.

I offer EMDR (Eye Motion Desensitization & Reprocessing) as a both a stand-alone treatment for working through traumatic memories as well as an adjunctive treatment to ongoing therapy.

I also have an office in San Francisco at 3819 23rd Street, in Noe Valley.

I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT# 79 765)

Business Owner

I am passionate about the work I do as a therapist. Since 2010, I have helped dozens of individuals and couples improve their lives, and navigate difficult and often painful situations and transitions. My previous career as a study-abroad educator in South Asia, and my long background in both meditation practice and music inform my emotionally grounded and present-centered, creative approach to psychotherapy. Please contact me directly to discuss your specific needs, and how I may be able to help.
