Established in 2010.

Fresh Bite started when Cindy and Terry, aka as the Fresh Bite Tarts, left their «normal» desk jobs and decided to take a fresh look at their lives and do something that floats their boats, that rocks their world.

The Fresh Bite Tarts are obsessed with food: how it’s made, where it comes from, and who grows it. Laugh, Enjoy and Be Nourished!

We no longer have to suffer through the bad fruitcake sent from some random place in Texas, now that my Mom has sampled the delicious fruitcakes made by Fresh Bite! My sister-​in-​law loved the dark chocolate, cherry, whisky cake, I loved the ginger cake, my sister enjoyed the gluten-free…yay! Oh, and we’ve all been fighting over the caramel sauce. And just yesterday I found my husband’s fingerprints in the jar… yes, not on, IN…

I love me some Fresh Bite! They do it right, from start (sourcing locally, organic) to finish (portions are right, flavors are bold). And the price is always right!
You can find them at various Farmer’s Markets in the East Bay, but the best bet is to check out their website, because they’ve usually got some seasonal special going (e.g. holiday gift-​package type stuff). Yum yum yum!

Terry and Cindy are magicians. Everything I’ve EVER eaten from Fresh Bite has been astoundingly delicious, even things I don’t usually like. They work their magic with the very best of the season– whatever season it is (I’ve stalked them at markets for the past year), and make it so luscious.
I love that they know their suppliers and are thoughtful with all their ingredients, from the freshest most interesting produce to the butter & flour. They’ve inspired me in the kitchen and are always fun to visit with, too!
I recommend Fresh Bite for a farmer’s market snack, something to stock the pantry, and catering for a special party. Awesome.

I sampled a bunch of their dishes at the Spice of Life festival. Butternut squash bread pudding, chocolate bread pudding… Their food was *amazing*!!! I live in the gourmet ghetto and we are so spoiled with great food but Fresh Bite really stands out. Plus I hear they’ll have a retail store soon. Yum!

Fresh Bite catered my event for 40 people. Not only did they work with me to keep to my budget but they kept the vegans and the mid-​western meat eaters happy at the same time! There was tons of food, the spread looked amazing and everyone was happy. So happy to have tons of cookies (definitely get the ginger!) and ate them as my breakfast the next morning. Hire them, you won’t be sorry.

If you can find these girls at a farmers market or sign up for the bakery box, you won’t be disappointed! From simple mac and cheese to the yummiest focaccias to the moist and tasty apple cinnamon bread — it’s the best!
