As a first-​time home buyer, I was looking for an agent who would take the time to walk me through the process. I interviewed 3 agents and was immediately impressed with Jeff’s willingness to take over an hour upfront to explain the process. He’s polite, straight-​forward, and doesn’t sugar-​coat his advice, which I really appreciated. He was very accessible by phone & email throughout the process as well.
When I got in an offer and we found additional issues upon inspection, Jeff held the deal together and got two concessions from the seller. I don’t think I’d have gotten the house at the price I did without Jeff’s negotiating skills.
Since closing, his recommendations for tradesman have generally be excellent. I certainly plan to work with him again the next time I’m in the market.

I heartily recommend Jeff. Three years ago he helped us purchase our home in Berkeley. Jeff knows his stuff about buying and selling real estate, and he knows all about the neighborhoods in the East Bay. He is always prompt, patient, and professional. We were minutes from closing on our second choice when our first choice unexpectedly became available. Jeff made the switch easy. He helped us to navigate some unusual situations around this new house that had been abandoned by the builder and finished by a bank. Ultimately, he negotiated a better price than we expected. Jeff was the best Realtor for me when I needed to find a house in the Oakland Hills and I wanted a view of the San Francisco Bay. Plus a very tight market. I had been looking myself but didn’t know the area very well. When I saw Jeff’s photo, I had this feeling he was a go getter. I was right and he works with a great set of people (Julie) to find you a mortgage that suits yr needs. Plus he knows houses, foundations, lateral sewer (all new in my vocabulary) — he pulls it all together and I thank him for all that he did for me. I highly recommend him to sell or purchase a home!

Jeff helped us purchase our first home in 2013. It was a very competitive time to buy but I learned that Jeff knew how to win the deal. We were coming in 2^nd or 3^rd right away and shortly after starting to make offers, we won the deal. Now we are using Jeff again to purchase our next home. He’s responsive and knowledgable, really great to work with.

My husband and I were first time home buyers when we contacted Jeff about purchasing our first home. When we found our home in Oakland, he quickly explained to us what the process would look like and what we should expect given the current market. We used his recommendations with lenders and we are so glad we did! They worked so hard (in sync) to get us through hurdles that other agents had once said were impossible to get over. We can’t thank them enough. When it came time to submit our offer, he was an expert at guiding us through the offer and negotiation stages. Our offer was accepted and we were ready to move on to the next step. Throughout the closing process, Jeff maintained constant communication regarding updates with our purchase and answered any and all questions we had (even the most basic) in a very timely manner. We can’t recommend Jeff enough, he truly made our experience a most pleasant and knowledgeable one.

Jeff was as good as his reviews say he is. He’s always available, had a lot of clever solutions for listing the house, and he and his team took care of all the prep for a very good price. He’s top notch.

Jeff was really wonderful to work with. I was a first time home buyer and very intimidated by the process. Jeff took the time to explain the process to me and answer any questions that I had, even the most basic ones. He was very responsive and knowledgeable about the process and the area. He kept at it with me for over 6 months until I found my home. He was also very helpful with recommendations for lenders, home inspectors, and repairmen needed for the home once everything was closed. He was also very straight forward and honest which was a blessing given my limited knowledge of the process. Once I found my home, he made everything as easy and smooth as possible.

We just purchased a house in Oakland while we are still living in Michigan, with Jeff’s terrific help. He was very responsive, informative, and helpful. Any house in which we were interested he would go within 24 hours and do a video walkthrough that he would upload for us to see. He had a good sense of what we were looking for, and advised us on a range of considerations. He did *not* push the most expensive houses — in fact, at the end we were seriously deciding between bids on two houses and he thought the smaller and lower priced (relatively speaking!) was the better for us. He had a scheduled vacation during the crucial last week of our purchase, but he had a colleague on call for us but he also checked his email regularly and ended up answering most of our questions quickly, before his colleague could get to them.
We bought an older house (1912) that needs a number of infrastructure updates. Jeff is continuing to help us after the sale, providing leads to contractors. He’s also stopping by the house to keep an eye on it until we move out.

Jeff, all in all, helped us get an amazing house in a great neighborhood for an unbeatable price. He really knows a lot about the different areas of Oakland and how the real estate market works. Furthermore, he know’s a lot about houses in general. For every house we checked out, he explained what the condition of the house was and showed evidence to support that. Also worth noting, he helped us close on a house within 2 weeks of beginning our search! He was very responsive and was almost always willing to check out a house with us within a moments notice any day of the week. These are just some of his many strong traits as a realtor.
There were a few areas, however, where Jeff could have made the process a little less stressful for us. For one, the lender he got us in contact with ended up being unreliable and extremely unprofessional. Also, Jeff has a personality that can be a bit voracious at times. Generally this can be a good thing if you are trying to close a deal quickly or get what you want in a competitive market, but in our case, we often found it to be pushy at times. For instance, Jeff was adamant about having us work with his people (i.e. lender, insurers, contractors, electricians) and did not seem to appreciate when we wanted to do our own research. On a few occasions he made it seem like we were in a position of either having to go with his recommendations or risk losing the house. Therefore I would recommend being clear from the start about whether you have your own lender, inspectors, etc. or want to go with his recommendations.
In the end, everything worked out very well for us. We are happily situated in our new home and have Jeff to thank for that.

Jeff recently helped me with the sale of my family’s duplex in Berkeley. Though I’ve experienced a few ups and downs with the long distance management of the property, I was not prepared for the multiple challenges of selling income property long distance.
Jeff was amazing. He took an extreme amount of time from the start; providing details about the process of selling property before I had even considered signing with him as my agent.
Jeff is extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable, organized, honest, and professional. His team of inspectors and contractors saved me and my family time and energy. He gets high marks for communication, planning, and maneuvering through the toughest challenges without loosing his cool.

Jeff was incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, proactive, professional, connected in the real estate community, trustworthy, and responsive, and I’m not just saying that because he’s my father! Jeff was a joy to work with. He has an impressive understanding of the East Bay housing market and offered invaluable advice that helped me as a single woman in my 20’s looking to purchase my first home.
One thing that is good to know about Jeff is that he’s a straight shooter. If you encounter a tough situation, he won’t sugarcoat it and you might not like what he has to say. You will, however, discover in the long run that it is in your best interest to listen to his advice. He stuck it out with me through several offers and counter-​offers over the course of ~6 months and I truly appreciated it. I thoroughly intend to go with him when I consider purchasing my next home.
It’s important to mention that he can be quite busy from time to time, so I also worked with his showing assistant, Susan. She is an absolute sweetheart and I loved viewing homes with her. She had a very bubbly and friendly personality and I felt just as comfortable seeing home with her as I did with Jeff.

With my wife being relocated to San Francisco from LA, I was not looking forward to dealing with the ins and outs and utter frustrations of dealing with the red hot market real estate market in the Bay Area. I read all the reviews I could find in getting an agent that would help us navigate these turbulent waters that would be responsive and ethical, one who would seem to have our interests at heart rather making us feel like we were just another dollar. We found Jess Weismann and could not have been happier. He definitely rose above and beyond the call of duty in helping us get our dream. We found a great home at a great price and honestly owe it all to his patience, perseverance and expertise. We even bought it under the listing price. Along the way we came to feel that he was part of our family and not just an agent. You won’t do better.

We followed Jeff’s advice about lenders and bids, we asked him lots of questions, and got a great house.

After searching for a place to call home an agent to show me the areas, I was very lucky and pleased to find Jeff Weissman. Being a first time home buyer, Jeff reassured me that he would be there through every step of the process and even has gone above and beyond to guide me after the house purchase. Escrow went smoothly, Jeff was on my side at all times and very knowledgable about how to go about negotiations. He took the time to explain every detail and even inspect the property multiple times with me during our «free» time. My wife and i were looking for a house near work within our price range. We found a home on Redfin and contacted Jeff. By the end of the night, he showed us the place, we made an offer, and the offer was accepted. Jeff negotiated the sewer lateral and closing cost to the sellers and we didnt have to worry about any of that. :) He answered all our numerous (perhaps in the range of annoying) questions through out the entire process (first time home buyers). I had reached out to Jeff via Redfin for an agent in my first home buying experience.
After getting pre-​approval through a lender he suggested (who also hasn’t been very helpful), I asked Jeff to show me a few properties in Oakland. Over a few weeks of suggesting properties that I was interested in, he repeatedly tried to talk me out of properties, or was simply unwilling to take the time to show them to me.
Maybe he was just busy — but regardless, he wasn’t willing to show me properties, inform me about the local market, and just seemed totally disinterested in me. Finally he got an assistant to show me one property that I was very interested in, but by the time she finally responded the house was no longer accepting offers! (and ended up being a place I would have loved to make an offer on)
I’ve since found another realtor that I’ve been very happy with, who has shown me dozens of properties, patiently taken me through making offers on a few places, and been helpful and informative.

Jeff has been incredibly helpful from start to finish. While we decided to pass on that particular house, Jeff was very helpful in helping us find the right fit. His website was also a great resource. In addition to sending us listings that fit, Jeff was a great help during home tours. He didn’t just stand around while we checked places out. He was very engaged, checking out wiring, potential water issues, home condition and the like. He didn’t just let us into places… he really was an extra pair of eyes to help us make a determination if each place was the right fit for the right price.
While my husband is on house #2, this was my first purchase. Jeff helped move things along at the pace we set but ensured that I didn’t get left in dust during the process. Not only did he help explain the details of the transaction, he has tons of very helpful insights on different neighborhoods, contractors, inspectors and city nuances that could effect us in the future.
