A Washington D.C. area native, Vince Marletta graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 1987 and obtained his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, MD in 1990. He began his experience with disability law working as staff counsel at the US Department of Veterans Affairs Board of Veterans’ Appeals, which adjudicates veterans’ appeals from denied service-​connected disability claims. Upon moving to the Bay Area in the early 2000’s, while preparing to take the CA Bar exam Vince worked as a claims adjuster at the State Compensation Insurance Fund. Following admission to the CA Bar, he moved to the State Fund legal department and worked as a defense attorney for several years, both at State Fund and in the private sector. Always sympathetic to the plight of the injured worker (even while working as a defense attorney), Vince opened his own practice as an applicant’s attorney in 2012.
