I absolutely agree with the other reviewers that Monty is friendly, approachable and an excellent listener; however, I would STRONGLY advise not hiring him.
Last year I reached out to Monty in January to complete my 2015 taxes, which I will admit were somewhat complicated. After several months probing him, he decided he could not complete them on time for the April deadline and an extension had to be filed. I have never had to file an extension before and could not believe I had to based on Monty’s poor planning (or communication). After the extension was filed, he continued to procrastinate and only responded to me in very short, non-​informative emails. He never did the things he said in the time he promised.
Finally in June, I decided I could not wait any longer because the penalties and interest were continuing to accrue. I ended up hiring someone else who was able to get everything submitted in July. In the end, there were several hundred dollars in IRS penalties and interest, which were completely due to the fact that Monty failed to complete my taxes on time.
I believe the tax assignment, which dealt with income from other states, was way outside his expertise and comfort level. He needed to be brave enough to tell me, so I could make other arrangements. Instead, Monty continued to lead me to believe I was in good hands, but instead left me high and dry. He is NOT a man to be trusted.

Monty helped me sort through some complicated tax issues. He was patient with my questions, clearly explaining the steps necessary to complete my taxes. He completed all of the work in a timely and professional manner. I trust him fully. Monty is friendly and approachable. I highly recommend him.
