Specialties
Namaste Yoga & Wellness is the East Bay’s largest yoga studio and wellness center, serving Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville, Albany, Walnut Creek and San Francisco. Our services include yoga classes and workshops by local and national teachers, massage and wellness, and retail boutiques.
History
Established in 1997.
Namaste Berkeley was founded in 2012 after merging with the much loved community studio 7th Heaven and with a common vision to provide a supportive space for the yoga, movement, and healing communities in Berkeley. Now a staple in the Bay Area’s yoga scene, the studio has served as an urban refuge in the growing yoga culture and industry.
Namaste Yoga and Wellness offers a full schedule of classes each day including prenatal, vinyasa, power vinyasa, restorative, yin and hatha. We welcome all levels and our teachers each have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
Meet the Business Owner
Kimberly L.
Business Owner
The first Namaste, in Rockridge, was opened nine years ago by Kimberly Leo, an Oakland native and devoted yoga practitioner. Opening Namaste was Kimberly’s way to fully integrate yoga into her life as well as provide a vital service for the community. Namaste provides a refuge from our busy urban life in its neighborhood settings; a peaceful environment nurturing physical health and spiritual growth.
Kimberly grew up on Lakeshore Ave, where the Grand Lake space is located and has always dreamed of returning to serve the community. Many Rockridge Namaste students and teachers live nearby as well, so it felt like the natural place to expand.
Now, almost a decade after opening Namaste Rockridge, she is able to return to one of the first yoga studios she called home, 7th Heaven Yoga & Wellness in Berkeley, to expand Namaste’s provenly successful culture and serve the newly combined communities.
