Stu Miller’s Movers

I just moved again with Stu Miller Movers and would highly recommend their service. They are on time and professional. We did a full pack, move within town, and unpack. I love that they recycle all of their moving supplies and they come prepared for anything. I appreciate that they charge by the hour with no hidden fees. They are hardworking and conscientious. I used them 5 years ago and they were the only movers I considered this time. Not a single item nor our new home had any damage. They are very organized and take apart and rebuild any necessary furniture. Thanks again Stu!

Thanks for the advice, Unilocalers. Stu lives up to all the high praise. This May we did our second move with him. He checked two days before and descended at the appointed time with two vans, a truck, and a team of eight guys. Soon everywhere you turned there was someone lifting, shifting, wrapping objects, asking questions, while Stu was running around making sure everything was done just right.
One story from the previous move. My son and I had built a small wood-​framed house for him to play in, and we had to wrestle it up and over the corner of the garage to fit through the gap beside the house. Five of us – I had jumped in at this point — were struggling to control this large wood box above our heads. All of sudden Stu appeared on the roof, grabbed the house and flipped it up and over the garage. No ladder. I still don’t know how he got up there.
Billing is clear and simple. No monkey business. The team are great to work with. At the end of the day, Stu is a thoughtful guy who has made it his mission to deliver the best moving experience possible. One of his crew members has been working for him for twenty-​plus years!

Simply the best movers you can get. Attention to details was outstanding. We were not an easy move — lots of stuff and special items like piano, new fridge to install, fine wines and nice artwork. Stu’s knowledge of the business is incredible. We could not have done the move without the support of his entire team. They were fantastic and great to work with. We were completely satisfied!

Stu and his crew of attentive efficient movers made our move a memorable experience. We had a long hallway (about a block long) from our apartment to the elevator, and then two flights of stairs up to our new place. They worked tirelessly from morning til dinner, organized and cheerful. Stu is very methodical and experienced and plans out the move from loading to unloading with detailed skill. When they left they had reassembled important things like the bed, and had moved the key pieces of furniture where they were meant to be. All the boxes were piled efficiently. The plants were moved entirely without damage. I would never use anyone else again. And yes, they seem to be more expensive at first quote, but there’s a huge advantage in feeling so taken care of during a move — and having everything placed so that unpacking is easy.

Stu and his awesome crew just moved us from Danville to Santa Rosa and the move was great. They are fast, efficient and careful. Stu has a calming presence about him — a real asset in the heat of the move. He is very careful to see that everything is done correctly and his price is fair. Stu and his crew were fantastic! They made our move a million times easier. They showed up on time, knew exactly what they were doing, and didn’t break or damage a single thing. He even fixed up some of our old busted furniture! I can’t say enough good things about Stu.

I just got internet installed in my wonderful new home, and promised myself the minute I was set up, I would write with many thanks to all the wonderful people who have helped me arrive here – these guys were literally angels sent from the Universe, and I feel deep, deep appreciation for all the amazing help they offered me and the superb energy they brought into my home.
I have moved 19 times in my life, and am pretty organized and responsible in ways that I don’t necessarily expect others to be. Well, moving with Stu and his crew yesterday just blew that out of the water for me. Stu has truly mastered the art of bringing order to what is inherently a chaotic process. I’m not totally done going through everything, but I’m pretty sure they broke not one single thing, which is really remarkable.
Stu was so diligent. When the team arrived, he asked if there were items that would be staying at my old place, and I pointed them out. Honestly, I did not expect this, and assumed I would have to return the next day to bring miscellaneous shelves or shower curtain rods, bath-​tub drains, etc. back. He communicated well with the team, and they didn’t miss a beat.
I also figured I’d have to come back the next day to spackle the various holes I’d placed into the walls. Stu had a huge toolbox with him, and offered me tools and showed me how to work on each piece. He also asked one of him wonderful teammates to patch all the wall holes. So cool.
When we arrived to my new home, I couldn’t believe how much stuff I have (seriously, it doesn’t look it – where do all these things come from??) and assumed it just wouldn’t fit, the team would leave it in random places, and that I’d be dealing with chaos for months. They did an amazing job with the limited space. One of them even remembered exactly which plants had been indoors versus outdoors and sorted them accordingly. In possible the only moment of imperfection. part of my lunch got spilled outside. I made a mental note to come back and wash it off the stairs, but at some point in the midst of everything else they were doing, the team cleaned that up.
The crew is composed of the most delightful individuals ever. I enjoyed chatting with them while they were working, and just loved having them in my home. Thank you so much, Stu Miller’s Movers. I will always appreciate your work and your wonderful energy bringing me here!

I have used Stu twice now. Both experiences have been fantastic. He is *meticulous* in everything he does and is a true craftsman of the art of moving. His crew are all extremely hard workers, friendly and efficient, and Stu provides constant supervision and guidance to them. Every single item is treated with the utmost respect and care. Stu and his team book up quickly and for several weeks out at a time, so you need to be prepared and organized yourself. As others have said, he is not a discount mover, but even my extremely cost-​conscious husband has said Stu’s work is worth every penny.

They will be completed my second move next week. Stu Miller and his team are wonderful, and I would not trust my move to anyone else.

It is only a slight exaggeration to say that being moved by Stu Miller and his crew of Tibetan refugees was a Zen experience, but it was as peaceful as a move can be. They moved me from my house in Berkeley more than a year ago but I will never forget how gracious and patient they were. They worked so fast and effortlessly and treated my belongings with tremendous care. Several days after my move, Stu called and said one of the movers needed to speak with me. It seems when he was rolling up a huge living room carpet, he found a $ 5 bill under it and put it in his pocket to give to me, but forgot. He had just found it and was profoundly regretful. I had to insist that I would be most happy if he would keep it. I have not forgotten what a wonderful experience it was, which is why, after all this time, I wanted to write this review. I will never use another mover in the Bay Area.

Stu and his crew did an excellent job moving us earlier this month. We had a lot of little items that needed packing, and we were too busy in the weeks prior to do it ourselves. Stu and 9 of his guys descended on our house and packed and moved everything. They worked from 8 AM to 10 PM that day, and came back at 8 AM the next morning to finish the job, which took them until about 4. Throughout, they were always cheerful and courteous, and never failed to ask us if they had any questions about where to put something or how to pack it.
This story really captures our experience: We had tickets to a concert the evening of the second move day. I kept the tickets in a folder in a file cabinet in our office. They unloaded the files into boxes and moved them and the empty cabinet to the new house. They were so careful about labeling where everything went that when it was time for me to find the tickets I went to the new office, found the cabinet right where it should be, opened the right drawer, and found the folder with the tickets exactly where I expected them. You can’t ask for more than that!
Stu does not charge the lowest rates in town, but if you want a quality job done with a minimum of stress and hassle, you should put Stu at the top of your list.

Hired Stu Miller to move my daughter. He was terrific in all respects. Although Stu gave me a four hour window on the arrival time, he called repeatedly to update arrival time. He and his crew arrived, walked the apartment and immediately went to work. They packed the kitchen and all breakables for us. Everything, breakable or not, was handled with care. The mattress and box spring were completely encased and kept clean. The bed frame was taken apart and put back together in the new apartment. Everyone was polite and helpful, so very interested in pleasing my daughter and me. Stairs in the old apartment and in the new apartment did not deter Stu or his crew. Stu is a bit more expensive than some others but well worth the price. I write this review without hesitation and give Stu the highest rating.

Hiring Stu Miller to move us to our very first home was the smartest move. He is a little costly but I think it was totally worth it. Our new home is located on a narrow street. Stu actually took the time to scope out whether he has clearance for his truck prior to the move. On the day of the move, he was punctual. He directed his crew and he also did the heavy lifting too. When we got to the new house, 2-​stories –they moved everything in with care. Stu and his crew moved the furniture and mattress up the narrow staircase without chipping or scuffing the walls. Before we moved the furniture in, we spoke briefly about where each pieces would go. Stu knew exactly what we had and wanted to make sure there was a place for it. What movers do you know do that?! Stu and his crew took such great care moving our stuff, like it was his own move. Nothing broke during the move, no furniture was scuffed up and no paint chipped in the process. Moving day is usually VERY stressful and I have to say I wasn’t stressed a bit. Thank you so much Stu for making this a great day! We will be sure to call you for our next move.

These guys are so amazing that I’ve finally decided to write my first Unilocal review. A month ago, I was on the sofa about to have a melt-​down as I looked at an entirely unpacked mess of a house. With two kids under four, one with pneumonia, I wasn’t in any place to mess around. So I called Stu just to see what it would take to move. He was there the next afternoon with his team of Sherpas (actually, they’re all Tibetan) that led me through the wilderness of moving.
They showed up in a very well-​designed moving truck that accommodated all my furniture without a hitch, everything wrapped and strapped tightly against the walls so that they wouldn’t get scratched or banged up enroute. They had ramps to smooth the path over the stairs at both old house and new. They covered the corners along the pathway of the move. They wrapped all my fragile items individually, even when I would have just stacked my plates together. They even found an errand for me to do out of the house when Stu realized that I was starting to stress out (it is crazy how emotionally distressing packing up a house can be!)!
They are thorough, conscientious, efficient, and oh, so sweet! I’ll definitely call them if I move again. Happy moving!

I cannot recommend Stu Miller’s Movers enough!!! My husband and I had them lined up to move us while I was 36 weeks pregnant, and then our baby came early (four days before they were scheduled to move us). Stu Miller and his movers handled EVERYTHING and were incredibly meticulous. I was afraid that by charging by the hour, there was no incentive for them to move quickly, but clearly their incentive is their reputiation. They were both detail-​oriented AND quick. Our total cost came in under what we had initially thought. The movers kept all of our things organized, even our refridgerator magnets! We will recommend Stu Miller’s Movers to all our friends and family and always use them in any future move we make. We HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Stu Miller and his crew did an excellent job of moving me and my girlfriend into our new apartment in El Cerrito. Stu was very attentive and made sure to walk through with us to identify everything that needed to go, identify fragile items, etc. We are both visually impaired, and he was very attentive to this issue when coordinating the move. His crew was fast but careful and efficient (the entire move took only 2 ½ hours!).
Stu went above and beyond by replacing some of the missing hardware to my bedframe and helping to set up a table that I had in storage for many years (both are now rock-​solid). This was the most stress-​free, easy move that I have ever had (and I’ve had a few over the years). Stu is a consumate professional and a genuinely friendly and curteous person. I would highly recommend his services to anyone and will continue to utilize his services for any future moves.

I used Stu Miller and company to move everything out of my mother-in-law’s living quarters after she passed away. His company was very accommodating about making FOUR stops as we spread out some of the furnishings to my daughter’s condo, my son’s condo, my home, and to the Salvation Army.

I’ve now had three moves via Stu.
The first was my primary residence. .. and I wasn’t there. 5 stars for organization, ability to disassemble and reassemble, get it done and do it right.,
2^nd was my Mother-​in –law’s move — I worked with a cheaper company, and learned why cheaper is cheaper, simply sub-​par. Stu came in for part 2 of the move and demonstrated competence, efficiency and skill a lifetime of memories are important regardless of your income level.
3^rd was my brother’s move. Complicated hallways, narrow entry door — everything was moved safely and efficiently without a scratch. They are on time, reliable and efficient.
Also, they bring tools to dissemble beds, tables, entertainment centers and re-​assemble them for you (at about ¹⁄₃ of the time it would take me to do the same). They have packing materials if you are moving things to storage to ensure everything is in tip top shape.
If moving valuables, treasures, things you won’t compromise. .. 5 + stars. A+ on quality.
