We are a tiny team providing middle– and high school students with math and science assistance and enrichment; competition coaching; and authentic mentoring.

We are helping hands to our students, proactive collaborators with their teachers, and strategic consultants for their parents.

History

Established in 2002.

After ten years in the tech industry, I decided that education was the place to make a difference, and that gifted students were the ones who most needed help, precisely because «anyone getting an A must be fine» is simply not always true. These are the kids who are most likely to cure cancer one day, and they need a lot more help — and challenge — than they are getting.

We’re here to help change that.

Business Owner

I finished my secondary education at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana, where I captained the math team, and graduated from MIT in 1992, with an SB in Computer Science and Engineering and a minor in music.

I have been a full-​time professional math tutor since 2002, and coached the Urban School Math Competition Team from 2008 to 2013 (when I moved to Berkeley from San Francisco).
