Our gutters were installed before we purchased our home and recently we had to call about an area of the house where the rain was not being diverted properly. Kevin sent someone over to fix the problem. Everything is doing much better now. Three thumbs up for Mr Golden and his guards! Our neighbors have a have a tall and highly-​productive unpruned oak that generously deposits a dense layer of leaves on our roof each fall, for weeks at a time. They’re leaves that don’t break down easily and It has been a chore for the several years we’re lived here to hump long ladders around and perform feats of aerial bravery. No the neighbors won’t cooperate and prune the thing… Gutter Helmet solved the problem and this year, one good windy storm blew many of the leaves back over their fence, just as a bonus.

I highly recommend Gutter Helmet of the Bay Area. We live next to a huge oak tree. I used to be on the ladder twice each winter to clear the blocked gutters and downspouts. Now the water goes into the gutters and the leaves stay out. As I am getting older, this is a godsend. When we had them installed, Kevin came out to give us the estimate and came back afterwards to inspect the work. His installer did a nice job. This was several years ago and they still look great. Recently, Kevin came by again and gave a free inspection to make sure the system was still solid and working correctly. A great product and great service.

We have had gutter helmet on our home for seven years and could not be happier with the product and the company. Kevin Golden, the owner, is personable, professional, and reliable. He has contacted us two times since our installation to offer an inspection of the product. We have had no issues with our gutter helmets thus far.

Recently I spoke to Kevin Golden, owner of Gutter Helmet of the Bay Area, regarding some issues with my existing gutter system on my home in Livermore. He was doing a job in my area recently and called to ask if he could stop by to inspect our gutter system (most of our system has metal guard pieces over the gutter and the front of our home has the actual gutter helmet). Kevin cleaned out our gutter that was overflowing and inspected our whole system to assure it was working properly. He didn’t charge anything for helping us out, nor did he try to sell us anything. I found his response time to be quick and he is polite, honest, and above board. I would recommend him if you are looking into a gutter helmet system. It’s a terrific investment for your home, especially if you have trees that drop leaves on your roof and clog up your rain gutters.

I found Kevin from Gutter Helmet on Unilocal and thought I’d give him a call since the estimate from Leafguard was out of my budget. He answered the phone right away and we set up a meeting time for him to take a look at the status of my gutters and installation of the helmet.
He showed up on time for the estimate. I found him to be knowledgeable and informative. He showed me signs of early water damage in areas that I didn’t have gutters and also showed me signs that my current gutters were pretty worn out. We planned on both gutter installation and the gutter helmet. He put me on the schedule about 2 weeks later. His crew came in and removed my gutters and installed new gutters and several new downspouts, all within a day.
The Gutter Helmet took a few weeks to get delivered and after 3 weeks (from the time of my gutter installation), Kevin’s Gutter Helmet installer came out to do the job. It took about 2 full days to install the helmet it looks great. The color blends in well with the roof shingles. I can’t comment on how good the helmet works since they haven’t been put to the test yet. Its nice that the gutter helmet has a «never clean your gutters» lifetime warranty.
I do have to say that I found Kevin to be very knowledgeable, informative, and most of all, honest. He was prompt and reliable. I found that the best way to communicate with him was over email. I would highly recommend him!

At first I was really impressed with Gutter Helmet. Kevin came by to give a quote on my place in San Mateo and he was quick and professional. Unfortunately, that was the last time I could get a hold of both him and the company. After multiple attempts to contact him, I’ve given up, and went with another company.
Glad I didn’t put a deposit down. Look elsewhere.

Found them on-​line and filled out the form. Was contacted the next morning and had a thorough discussion about the gutter helmet, and available options.
Had an appointment today (4 days since initial contact) and was thrilled with the options, pricing, expertise and service.

We had a partial install of Gutter Helmet 5 years ago — and are soooo happy that we did. No more overflow and scary trip on the room to clean the gutters! At the time we skipped installing the helmet in the back of the house where there wasn’t much in the way of leaf debris, etc. to get in the gutters. But… those gutters still needed to be cleaned out on occasion so we finally go around to adding gutter helmet in the back on May 19. Elias was the installer — not only did he install the new helmet, but he spent lots of time checking all of the older helmet to make sure everything was ok, and made adjustments, fixed a seam leak, & replaced some corner (where roof @ different levels comes together at the gutter) screens where needed. Elias also took the time to notice and tell that our pool solar panel pipes are beginning to rub the shingles and that this needs attention (have to call Poco for this one!). He was careful and meticulous in his work, and a very nice person, too! It was a pleasure to have him doing this job for us. Now, all we need are some rip-​roaring rain storms! We have had our Gutter Helmet system in place since 2013 and it is one of the best investments we ever made. Our house sits on a steep hill and cleaning the gutters just became too dangerous. We also live on a heavily wooded lot so the gutters got full pretty often. All those problems have been solved! Kevin and his staff are top of the line in professionalism, caring, and workmanship. They even came out to help me this winter with cleaning and to answer some questions I had about the system. That kind of customer service is way above average — almost unheard of. I would recommend this product and Kevin to anyone. Get Gutter Helmet you wilt be sorry.

I was one of the first ones that had Gutter Helmet installed in this area. I have a number of trees and pine needles that used to accumulate in my gutters and I dreaded the chore of cleaning them. Up and down the ladder and scoop out the yucky mess. NO MORE!!! After Kevin installed the Gutter Helmet, rain ran off the roof and over and into the gutters with no blockages. Water flowed freely and NO MORE CLEANING GUTTERS! This company also stands behind their product. They have been out to install newer filters for the downspouts, at no charge. They come and check on me and my gutters whenever I call them. I HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who, like me, is tired of cleaning gutters and wants to protect them from all the things which clog them and make them less efficient. Thanks Kevin!

I had Gutter Helmets installed on my two-​story house six or eight years ago so that I wouldn’t have to risk my life getting on a ladder and cleaning out my gutters a couple of times a year. I couldn’t be happier with the product. Kevin, the owner of the business, stops by whenever he’s in the neighborhood to make sure that they’re still working properly and I’m happy with them, and if he sees a problem, he takes care of it, at no charge. When I saw him providing an estimate at a neighbor’s house recently, I mentioned to him that it seemed as though one of my downspouts couldn’t seem to handle a big rainfall (not that we’ve had any recently!) He came right over to take a look at it, and sent one of his installers down to tweak it when they installed my neighbor’s new gutters. To top it off, his worker blew off areas of my roof where leaves had collected. Amazing service, plus Kevin couldn’t be more pleasant!

Take heed! Based on earlier reviews, there has been a dramatic change with this company. I signed up for Gutter Helmet with Kevin Golden in June 2014 and put down a $ 400 deposit, which was cashed in July. After two months of no word on my installation date I phoned and emailed repeatedly with no response. I even contacted the Gutter Helmet main number several times before finally getting a message from Kevin in late Sept. that the installation would happen the next day. When I asked for an explanation about his absence, his response — nearly a week later — was thin («I dropped the ball»). I then canceled the job and asked for my deposit to be returned. He tried to get me to reconsider, but the tone was weird.
I’ve written several times about my depost and have not received it yet. Kevin seemed so nice and trustworthy when I first met him, but something has gone very wrong. I would not have turned to Unilocal if he had just returned my money.

Be aware that this company advertises that they are Diamond Certified. When they failed to appear at my home to do the work I had contracted for, and I was unable to contact them over a period of three weeks, I called Diamond Certified. When I asked them if they had any news on Gutter Helmet, they told me the company does not have Diamond Certification and is prohibited from using the Diamond Certified logo on their
contracts.
They might have been a great company at one time, but no longer. I still do not know why Gutter Helmet of the Bay Area resorted to false advertising, nor failed to do the work on my home as contracted. Luckily I had not paid them anything yet, but they have my credit card number in their files.

Just had Gutter Helmet install all new gutters and downspouts on my house after getting the runaround from a Lowe’s consultant for two months. Kevin answered the phone and came to my house the same day to prepare an estimate. This in itself was a very positive sign that I wanted to do business with these guys. That afternoon I had a estimate to replace my rusty leaking galvanized gutters with new 5″ aluminum gutters, downspouts and gutter helmets around the entire house. I wanted to be around during the installation to provide input and keep an eye on things and Kevin had no problem scheduling the crew to do the job on a Saturday.
Less than 2 weeks later, I had gleaming new glossy white gutters on my house. The crew even gave me time during the installation to go around the house and quickly paint the exposed edges of the wooden eave slats before mounting the new gutters. This was important to me as it would have been impossible to do after the new gutters were on. I know this was a lot to ask and I appreciated their patience.
The gutters turned out amazing and not only do they protect my house and foundation from future water damage, they will never get clogged with leaves from the huge ash tree in my yard. The gutter helmets sold the deal for me, they aren’t cheap but they are functional and look aesthetically pleasing.
I have nothing but good things to say about this company and would not hesitate to do business with them again or refer them to friends or family. A+++

Had Gutter Helmet put in 3 years ago. During the last rain storm, noticed that an area of the roof where the water was not coming down into the gutter. Thought it was clogged, so I called Kevin and he came out and had a look. He indicated that, it was probably spider webs that prevented the water from enter the gutter. Sure enough, he showed me pictures that the gutter was still very clean.

Not only do we feel we got the protection we need for our bungalow in sometimes-​stormy Santa Cruz, where the «historic» fir trees spray more of their share of debris, but what we appreciate most about Kevin’s business acumen is that he came over the hill twice to make sure all was well and we were well-​insulated from the elements.
Another cogent point: Because we have a lifetime warranty on our Gutter Helmet installation, I don’t have to worry about falling off the roof in my soon-​to-​be-​wobbly senior status.

I was familiar with the gutter helmet product because I had them installed on a vacation home in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2005.
In 2007 I had gutter helmets installed on my Oakland hills home by a contractor based in Concord, CA. After a year or so I experienced some problems so I tried to contact them, but they were out of business. I thought «So much for the lifetime warranty», and suffered a few years with overflowing gutters.
In 2014, I saw that a company in Santa Clara had gutter helmets, so, with nothing to lose, I filled out a web form on Sunday and got a call from the company president, Kevin Golden, the same day! The next day he was at my house and we worked out a schedule together for the repairs. It turned out the other dealer made a few mistakes during the installation. Kevin’s company honored the lifetime warranty, too!
Needless to say, I am a very pleased customer.

About a month ago we had all new gutters installed by Gutter Helmet, and we are very happy with the result and would definitely use this company again.
It seems strange using the term «this company» though, since we pretty much just dealt directly with Kevin, who is the owner. He was the one who came out and did the measurements and wrote the quote, and he was the one we called if we had any questions. He even came out on the installation day to see how things were going. Over the last few years, we’ve dealt with a bunch of contractors, and Kevin definitely stands out as one of the best. In our opinion he’s an honest and honorable guy who does good work.
A couple other specifics I’d like to mention. We felt that we benefited from Kevin’s experience. As with any job, there’s always a couple questions of whether you should do it this way or that way. We felt that Kevin understood our concerns, and gave us good advice. In terms of schedule, we were quite happy that even during the rainy season, Kevin was able to fit us in pretty quickly (within a couple weeks). In terms of workmanship, we really like the way our gutters look, and the they did a great job on our square downspouts (which each need to be custom made). And lastly in terms of price, we really think Kevin was very good. He wasn’t the cheapest quote (but he wasn’t that far off either), but we feel that there’s a difference between price and value, and we think Kevin gave us the best value we could find when you factor in the workmanship and peace of mind that the job was done right.
