Just had our Valentine’s dinner here. Made a reservation of 7:15pm and walked in to be taken right to our table. Our 8 yr old daughter was with us and we all had a great time. They made a meal especially for her. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again.

I must say this has been a most delightful experience! The servers and staff are very polite and attentive. All appetizers were tasty and delicious! The main course meals were as tasty as their presentation beautiful. I would definitely return again for a family meal. Kudos!

Meh– went there for a group dinner the other night– there was problems scheduling it before we even got there which was already a turn off. Food was ok, it was very salty… The waiter was very nice and very attentive– that’s why I am giving them 2 stars– but I definitely could go somewhere else for better Italian food.

I like the ambiance here, and the food is usually good. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it seems that it has been getting a little worse each year. I have been coming here for 14 years and it’s just not as good as it used to be. It is definitely way over priced too. Needless to say because of the decline in quality of the food, and the rise in prices I don’t frequent this establishment anymore.

We frequent this restaurant and as an Italians and well-traveled we love the creativity on this menu. Everything is extraordinary and the service is wonderful. Chuck, a server this evening, made our dining experience fun and interesting. He is a great young man with an engaging personality that aims to please. The stuffed artichoke stems are beyond and the salmon oscar are just two of our favs. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

I made reservations for a party of about 20 people for a surprise birthday party. Our server, Kyle, was great. He accommodated the kids by getting their food out early to keep them occupied and made sure everyone had their drinks refilled every time he came by. All of the guests were pleased with the food. No one sent anything back, and everyone was full or took home a doggy bag. I requested a cake for the occasion. It was delicious, nicely decorated, and plenty left for people to take some home. Thank you Filomenas for a great night.

My family and I have been dining at Filomena’s for years especially when there’s a special occasion to celebrate. My bridesmaids threw my bridal shower here, threw a 90th surprise party for my grandmother at Filomena’s, and even came for New Year’s Eve a few years back. It was always the place we chose when we wanted authentic Italian food with a romantic ambience. With all of that in mind, my 3 star review probably comes as a shock. For the past few times that we’ve had dinner at Filomena’s it has been a bit of a disappointment. I kept waiting to give it more chances before I wrote a review, but this past visit sealed the deal. I’m not sure why but they don’t have eggplant parmigiana on their menu. When I asked about it they said they could definitely make it for me considering they had every other type of parm dish. When the bill came my eggplant parmigiana cost more than their veal or chicken parmigiana. A whole $ 4 more. Is it me or doesn’t eggplant cost a fraction of the price of meat? When I inquired about this I didn’t get an explanation but they took $ 2 off which still put it at a higher price than veal or chicken. And the meal was not even that good considering the eggplant wasn’t even ripe! I will never order it again. When we dined at Filomena’s a few weeks ago for my birthday, I called ahead for a Sunday dinner for 9 people. They had a table ready for us in one of their more private dining areas which was awesome. We ordered a bunch of apps to start including the calamari, clams/stuffed mushroom/bacon wrapped scallops medley(for $ 12 we could have done without considering it was quite bland and they only gave you two of each item), and their steak bruschetta(which is our favorite). This time the steak was very chewy and it had a weird sauce on it which changed the taste of the entire dish. All of our meals were good, nothing to write home about, but definitely just good. My main issue this past time was our server. Albeit very friendly, he wasn’t attentive enough for having a table of 9. We asked for bread several times, which they serve with roasted garlic oil and roasted red peppers and is amazing. We asked during our soup/salad course as well as before our actual entrees came. He kept saying he was going to get it but actually didn’t come out until 10 minutes into our meal. Not cool. He also had to be reminded several times for drink refills and seemed a bit annoyed when we wanted coffee and dessert. For a $ 300+ meal he should have been way more attentive or asked for someone to help. This probably won’t be my last visit to Filomena’s since its always been one of my absolute favorite restaurants. It seems lately they are skimping on things they would not have in the past. Perhaps, for now, I’ll try their other locations in Deptford or Blackwood.

I was extremely disappointed with my meal last night. I was excited in the begining to have chicken saltimbocca for dinner, because i love veal or chicken saltimbocca, its one of my favorite italian dishes, and not many people are familiar with it or know what it is. Apparentlly niether does Filomena know what it is either, because what i had for dinner last night was not chicken saltimbocca, it was closer to chicken cordon blu stuffed with spinach and topped with marsala and mushrooms. The only thing resembleing saltimbocca was that the meat was chicken and there was a piece of prosciutto with it. It wasnt flatten, it was butterflyed and stuffed. It wasnt pan fryed or sauted it was baked. There was no sage, it was stuffed with frozen spinach that lacked any flavor. They added mozzerella cheese and mushrooms which doesnt belong in chicken saltimbocca. The chicken was also dry and lacked flavor, it seems like they cookednit in the oven then spooned sauce over it before they served it to me. It would have been fine if the food was as advertised, but it was the equivalent of asking for chicken Florentine and getting chicken marsala. The chef needs to go read a cookbook and research what actual saltimbocca is because it doesnt contain spinach it doeant contain mushrooms and it isnt stuffed and baked and most times it dredged and pan fried with sage and prosciutto in a white wine butter sauce. I understand having some creative liscence when you cook but when you change every aspect of what the diahnis sopposed to be it isnt that dish any more and it becomes aomething completely else Overall the bruchetta and ceaser sald were good, also had tiramisu which was tasty.

I had decided this would be a good place to take my parents for Father’s Day this year. When we had arrived, the waiter came over to help us after a good 5 minutes. Generally, the service was very slow. They messed up on my meal even though it was simply pasta and spinach, yet they forgot the spinach so they took it back and just threw it on top. The server was not very apologetic and he did not check on us in the midst of our meal to see how everything was going. Then before we knew it, we were done and it had taken about 10 or 15 minutes just to get someone to come over and wrap up our meals. We were low/out of water and no one came over to fill it. Also, it took awhile for them to get our desserts. When I had gotten home, I realized they wrapped up the wrong salad(somebody else’s). The food was fair but I am not happy with the service, so I will not be going back anytime soon.

It’s killing me not to give this place 3 stars but my food was just so good. They couldn’t find our reservation and the service was sooooooooooo slow and disorganized. But the food was incredible. I got a veal chop(omg pic attached). It was stellar. The environment is really nice and classy and they offer outside seating as well. Our waiter was friendly as well. I’ll give it another shot and keep updated if the service changed at all.

Admittedly, I have my favorite places and I don’t know HOW I could forget about this place… My brother loves this joint because Frankie treats him well. Frankie, though a tough act to follow isn’t the only great server in the place, though! My husband and I went there on a Friday night and asked for the Filet Bruschetta.(its not on the menu but they’d do it for you if they can. If not, don’t be offended, ask again the next time. A perfectly toasted italian bread, warmly softened gorgonzola, a filet mignon slice and oddly sweet roasted red pepper with a sweetly mellowed balsamic sauce lightly drizzeled atop this dynamic creation. Quite possibly the perfect appetizer. I don’t think this is much of a place for families with small children. It is quiet, elegantly casual and a bit upscale. More a place for a quiet dinner or a small adult gathering. I have never had a bad meal here. Again, admittedly I forget about the place but it’s so worth remembering… it’s going to the top of my list.

Perfect for special occasions! Whenever family is in town, we make reservations. It’s a great atmosphere and they have such good appetizers, we have good memories being there and passing food around. The bruscetta! Soooo good! We’ve also had luncheons here after funerals. The staff is nice, we get the private room in the back, and everyone really enjoys the food and being together in tough times. I definitely recommend this place and if the price is a little high for you, go for lunch!

Filomena, I love you. I love your impeccable service, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left — impeccable without being phony or over the top. I love your efficient, courteous, and genuine style(Ok, our server Kevin gets much of this credit, but still — it shows you hire and train well!) I love your pristine décor and ambiance — so clean! So pretty! I love the fancy things that come with your bread. I love the fact that salads come with your reasonably priced entrees. I love your homemade white balsamic vinaigrette. I love your selection of food — too many Italian places underwhelm with a lack of variety or ‘different’ menu items.(I’m talking about your stuffed artichoke hearts here, OMG! So, so good. And the Filomena Trio, while fairly common with its clams casino, stuffed mushroom and scallop in bacon, it was prepared perfectly). I haven’t had a date with my fiancé for a year(we have a 2 year old, ugh) so I had BIG expectations for tonight, and you did not disappoint. For dinner I had the seafood risotto, way more than I could eat and every piece of seafood was perfectly prepared. I’m a picky with my scallops, but yours were top notch. And the risotto itself was cooked perfectly. The basil really made the dish! You are only 5 minutes away, so you can be sure that this won’t be our last visit. Thank you, Filomena, for giving us a new favorite spot and a new reason to devote some much needed time and energy into our relationship. We originally planned to do ‘dinner and a movie’, but who needs a movie when the dinner experience is so fantastic? Thank you — I needed this night!!!

I’ve been to the Berlin Filomena a handful of times now over the last couple of years. If you’re looking for a classy Italian restaurant without traveling to say Philly or AC, Filomena is a pretty decent option. Believe it or not they have some bangin’ chicken parm. I’d venture to say it’s some of the best in the area. The chicken is thin, sauce is flavorful, and the cheese is just the right amount. You also can’t go wrong with their muscles in their red sauce. My only complaint in regards to their food is that the caesar salad was dressed a little heavy. The service has been pretty top notch for the times that I visited. The last time I was here was for my grandmother’s birthday. One of the waiters keeps a guitar handy and came out and entertained my little cousins, and I must say I was entertained as well. Can’t speak for the prices as I’ve never paid on my visits but judging by the quality of the food and service, I imagine that it’s worth your hard earned cash.

I came for dinner with a large group over the weekend to celebrate my mommom’s 80th birthday. First the(sorta) bad stuff: The restaurant was busy so they had our large party at a long table that was crammed into the back of the dining area. It made it a little difficult to be able to talk to everyone and getting in and out to the bathroom was a little awkward, but overall that wasn’t too bad. The servers also seemed a little disorganized; we had several servers and they didn’t seem to talk to one another. Now the good stuff! The food was much better than I was expecting. I ordered the pork chops, which came out with two large chops with caramelized onions and peppers on a bed of mashed potatoes. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the chops were so tender! I only ate half of it so I took the rest home and it reheated beautifully the next day. We also had a bunch of appetizers for the table and the few things I sampled were delicious. Since I’m not in this area much anymore, I’m not sure if I’d come back here unless we were having another party, but if we did have a party here, I certainly wouldn’t mind!

Recently had dinner with friends here and had a great evening. We waited forall of the party to arrive at the bar and the bartender and the drinks were very good. When one of our party felt that her cocktail wasn’t really what she wanted, the bartender immediately asked her what she was looking for(sweet, sour, dry etc.) and made her a new drink on the spot. I have been before several times and Filomena’s is consistently good. The calamari and the stuffed long hots were very good and food ordered by everyone was also very good. Veal Saltimbocca, the gnocchi and rigatoni Bolognese were delicious. The only negative thing about the night was our server — he was very lackluster, not engaged and while that is tolerable, his lack of knowledge about the menu was ridiculous.

Having dined here regular for the past seven or so years, I have to say — very little has changed. If something has changed, I haven’t noticed. Kudos. I’m not a fan of change especially at a restaurant that offers my favorite chicken parm. Food is delicious. Service is on the better side of good. There’s a bar. There are desserts. What more can I say? I wish I could comment on value, but the man friend always pays.
