Georgetown Square Beer and Wine Shop

I’ve been here a few times, and this is a great place to find brands that you normally wouldn’t find in the regular county liquor stores. I was able to find some beers that I had been looking for, for a while. However, their prices are definitely on the higher side, so I would strongly recommend against picking up regular, run of the mill drinks from here.

I swung in here to grab a bottle of wine on my way to a holiday party and this place was exactly what I needed.
The store has a nice layout and a decent selection of wines. I loved how they had it organized by price ranges on the shelf, the higher the shelf, the higher the price. At eye level were bottles around $ 25 – 30, the shelf below were $ 15 – 20 bottles, having them grouped this way made it easy to find exactly what I was looking for. The staff here were also really friendly and helpful in selecting what I wanted.
I’ll definitely pop back in if I’m in the area.

I live in Virginia but work in Bethesda so I end up going here pretty frequently as it is close to my office. The place is well laid out and it usually packed so I guess it is pretty popular. The prices are excellent but what I find best about going here is the service. The employees are really knowledgeable and great at recommending wines for any budget. I highly recommend checking them out.

Georgetown square beer and wine is in a great location right off of Old Georgetown Road and Democracy. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable about all the different wines and beers they carry. The wine selection is huge so I sometimes ask questions and everyone is very helpful. The staff will also make wonderful suggestions, I have never been disappointed. Another plus is the prices are reasonable. Hands down my favorite wine and beer shop in the area.

The staff and management is bar none the most knowledgeable in helping me cater many perfect house parties. It sounds ridiculous since all it takes to essentially have a successful event is friends, alcohol and some decent music. If you are, however, interested in taking things to the next level, read on.
The staff have time and time again made suggestions that in turn have made me look like a genius to guests.
Examples of Exceptional Service:
— The moment they got their shipment of Maui Babe Lager, they let me know.
— I mentioned in passing that I loved Barcelona Honey Crunch Cashews and was bummed more places did not carry them. Next time I went back, he special ordered them for me and even went as far as thank me for the recommendation. It has sold well since.
— We now strategize weeks in advance of an event and they always come through with specialty wines, beers, and even snacks.
If you care to craft a true personal culinary experience, Georgetown Square Beer and Wine Shop is the best in the DMV.

For Maryland they are perfectly fine. Let’s face it, unless you’re willing to go into D.C. you have to accept higher prices, and less than stellar selection. But they have a good selection of both beer and wine, and the people that work there are always friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t buy bud here, but I’ve found Dogfish Head 120 and Southern Tier Unearthly at prices comparable to anywhere else (Even Total). Wine prices are ok, but not like the bargains you get in D.C. All that said, they are my choice for Bethesda.

So I was looking for some really good wine to get for the wknd party for my birthday and I stumbled upon Gtown Square while headed to the mall. I walked in and the selection seemed to look really good (not like I know much about wine) so I went ahead and asked the guys working there and they were great! They were able to help a novice out like me with selecting the perfect wines for the taste I was looking for and they were able to fit my budget perfectly. I ended up getting a few bottles of Malbec and a bottle of Conundrum (which my gf LOVED!)
They also have the best beer selection I have seen in awhile so I picked up a few bottles of Delerium. needless to say, my birthday wknd was great!

Solid beer and wine selection with fair prices in this area.
Staff is knowledgeable about pairing wines and beer selection advice. Staff friendly and willing to help out. Great location for Bethesda.

Good Selection of beers and wines here, they also have a good amount in stock so they are willing to sell in bulk on short notice. It is also nice that they offer bulk rates.

Great wine selection, good beer selection, fair prices due to the location. Staff is knowledgeable about pairing wines with various types of foods. If you want to throw a great wine party, good place to pick up the necessary items.

Decent beer selection, but the high prices offset the rating that I would normally give a beer/​wine place. $ 6 – 8 for 6 pack of bud/​miller. $ 9 – 16 for a 6 pack of quality beers. I guess because they sit in between Bethesda and Rockville «aka North Bethesda» they can get away with this stuff.
Not worth coming back here. With the amount of beer I purchase, its probably worth it for me to drive somewhere farther out.

I’ve been in here a few times now, very conveniently located (for me at least) nestled in the Georgetown Square shopping center. This place has helped me out in a pinch when I’ve needed to pick up wine to bring or offer at a party. They have a pretty good selection and also decent beer options in the back. (They get bonus points for always having and old favorite of mine in stock!) The prices are reasonable, plus there are generally specials on wine and you can usually find some good deals. Staff are friendly and I have yet to come at a time and find the store overly packed, making it easy to run in quickly and come out with a successful purchase.
