Absolutely LOVE this place! Always have 12 packs of Stella for $ 15. And told one of the guys that works here about how much I love Shipyard’s Pumpkinhead(which they didn’t have at the time) and he said he’d look into it. I just went back today and guess what they had?!?

The store is renovated lately and it looks very nice! Outside might look little dark since the lights are calmed, but the store looks very moody and romantic like a small café. I usually go there on weekends and I noticed they are now doing WINE/BEER TASTING on Fridays! They sometimes serve wines with crackers with cheese and it looks like people enjoy the tasting more. I also like their selections on wines especially French and Spain. They always have sales going on each month and I just bought Kim Crawford last Saturday since it was on July Sale for $ 15.99! Great place :)

This is my go to spot for beer and wine! The customer service provided by Sean and Jacob is extraordinary and a model for how businesses should treat patrons. They treat you like a neighborhood friend rather than a customer. They happily direct you to beer and wines that meet every taste and budget and if they don’t have what you are looking for they are only too happy to order it and have your favorite beverage brought to the store.

I like Montgomery Gourmet beer and wine because it’s incredibly convenient for those of us who live in the immediate neighborhood. If it were IN the mall, I’d never go, too much trouble. The place does a brisk business for its convenience, and it’s popular for the lottery. Prices are to be expected for a smaller store that doesn’t buy in bulk. The main reason this place gets four stars is because the employees – every one of them – are polite, friendly, and provide good service every time. It may be in little ways, but it’s appreciated by this shopper. Unfortunately, those little niceties are missing from most places.

Located in a small strip mall just down the block from the enormous Montgomery Mall, this is yet another wine & beer store that people zip right by w/o even knowing it exists. If they had opened this store IN Montgomery Mall instead of a block away from the entire(enclosed) Mall, — they would probably have a thriving business… Unfortunately(for them), their«tucked away» location really just doesn’t get much traffic. On top of that deterrent, prices on all the wines are higher than you would pay in DC. I’m pretty sure that the«owner-thinking» is that(local) people will pay a few bucks more rather than drive all the way into DC. If you’re buying one or two inexpensive bottles(less than $ 25), — that may be true, but if you’re buying more(quantity) or higher-priced items, than that doesn’t hold true… Most of the wines don’t have ratings posted and the few that do tend to have their prices jacked up accordingly. This is a place dominated by mediocre(ie. 80 — 89 pt) wines. Like I said, — the few wines that exceed that are priced much higher(here) than you can find in DC.
