Peter Weiss, MD

I just became a patient of Dr. Peter Weiss few months ago. He is very warm, knowledgeable and he is the only doctor that diagnosed me with adenomyosis. He still sent me to get an MRI to make sure, but he was correct. He was the third doctor I saw. No one could tell me why I’m having unbelievable pains on a monthly basis. We are scheduling to do a partial hysterectomy and I want him to do the surgery. I am switching to him immediately.
Overall, he is a great doctor and I would recommend him to anyone.

I am pregnant with my second child and due to a change of insurance I had to switch doctors. My first OB was amazing so I was pretty upset to switch. I saw all of the positive reviews on Dr. Weiss and thought for sure this would be a great experience. I was completely wrong… to the point that I’m only writing this review because I’m actually worried about the health of my unborn child. My first visit to the office took 2.5 hours and I only spent about 10 minutes with the doctor. Not to mention my husband took time off of work to come with me and we had our 1.5 year old with us, so the waiting was terrible. During the time seeing the doctor he basically just told me he doesn’t want to be waking up at 2am to deliver babies anymore so he only wants to do scheduled c-​sections. That is not my plan at all. If he knew this, why would he even let me schedule a first appointment with him?! After his talk about money he decided to do an ultrasound to check my due date (I was exactly 8 weeks). Other than that, he didn’t ask me any questions about my pregnancy, how I was feeling, my symptoms, if I smoke/​drink, if I’m taking my multi-​vitamin. He didn’t mention any of the no-no’s during pregnancy… ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I didn’t really think anything of this at the time, but after getting home this sort of horrified me. How can he just assume that I know certain things just because I’ve had one baby already. The nurse was incredibly rude and cold. She showed me to the room for the ultrasound and just pointed and grunted something that I couldn’t hear. She came back 5 minutes later and scolded me for not being undressed. How was I supposed to know to go in there and get undressed? My last doctor never did a vaginal ultrasound.
I tried to get past this first experience with the doctor and the whole office itself. I went to my 12 week appoint (this time alone). This time I was there for 2 hours! And I never saw the doctor once. I was literally the last person in the waiting room as they were locking things up in the office and turning lights off. My appointment was at 4pm and I didn’t get in to get my ultrasound until 5:55pm. After the ultrasound the nurse asked me to go wait to see the doctor. She put me in an exam room and I waited 10 minutes. The nurse then came back in and said that the doctor said she didn’t need to see me (Because I didn’t want a scheduled c-​section, they assigned me to a different female doctor).
This keeps me up at night. I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant and I have only spoken to the doctor for a few minutes about money and how much he wants me to pay. Needless to say, I have switched doctors and will see a new one this week. If you are pregnant for the first time, please consider seeing a different doctor in a different office. This office is clearly extremely popular and they cannot keep up with the demand. They just rush people in and out to get their money. I looked up my insurance claims and for my most recent appointment where I never even saw the new female doctor, they billed my insurance company $ 250 for a physician examination fee. I will be filing a claim against that as well. Being pregnant is already stressful enough, its not okay to have to now deal with all of this and start with a new doctor halfway through a pregnancy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Weiss since i first moved to Los Angeles… originally as my GYN and he has now guided me through my first pregnancy. With 5 weeks to go, my husband and I feel so lucky to have him delivering our baby. He is kind, competent, and an absolute professional. And funny. And has 35 years experience in his field. If you are looking for a new doctor in the ob/​gyn arena, you couldn’t do better than Dr. Weiss!

I have been a patient of Dr. Weiss’ for 19 years and he delivered two of my children. He is my absolute favorite doctor and the only one I would travel a good long distance to stay with. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever had and is knowledgable and able to put patients at ease. His staff is friendly and I rarely, if ever, am kept waiting. He is THE best!

I have been a patient of Dr Peter Weiss since the 80s and I have to say, he is THE best doctor I have ever had. He is smart, warm, witty and makes me feel like all of my concerns really matter. He spends the necessary amount of time with his patients and answers all of my questions. I’ve even had surgery performed by Dr Weiss and he is a wonderful surgeon.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Weiss as he delivered my 2^nd child. He is a great doctor. He is very attentive and caring. He answers all my questions and concerns. He even calls to follow up with you. I would definitely recommend Dr. Weiss!

My wife gave birth to our 2 first babies with Dr Peter Weiss, and he has been very caring.
We recently went to his office for our first visit since my wife is pregnant with our 3^rd child, and it was not a good experience ! Dr Weiss seems different, a lot more distant with his patients, the atmosphere is definitely not the same, the policies in place have changed, and we could feel tensions between the employees.
While over the time, they were reducing the number of insurance plans they were accepting, we always manage to switch in order to keep him as our obstetrician, he is now only accepting group plans without prior notice, enforcing on us to go find another obstetrician (asking my wife to provide us with a list of his colleague, so he can tell us which one to pick!).
$ 400 for an ultrasound and 1.5 minute office visit with him, while he was mostly speaking about how Obamacare reduced his earnings, and how we should find another obstetrician since he is now only accepting group plans and out of pocket patients. The baby, and the result of the ultrasound did not seem to be his first concern that day !
We hope to recover our so caring and loving Dr Weiss that gave birth to our two wonderful children, but it looks like his interests have switched !

Dr Peter Weiss rocks! He absolutely the best! Made my whole experience just perfect. He delivered my healthy little boy on aug 2 ’14. Highly recommend him!

I LOVE Dr. Weiss. He’s been my OB-​GYNE for the past 9 years. I have referred him to my friends and colleagues and they all love him too. He listens to my concerns, returns my phone calls right away and you can reach his office ²⁴⁄₇. He delivered my first born 2 years ago and he was available the moment I went on labor (took 26 hours before I give birth). I highly, highly recommend him!

Long waiting times and bad bedside manner during labor

I’ve been seeing Dr. Weiss for over 10 years now and was referred to him by a friend for fibroid issues. He is one of the most friendly and warm hearted doctors I have ever met. After many visits and consultations, I decided upon surgery which was performed by him. He made sure to check on me every day at the hospital and was always encouraging and supportive. I really can’t recommend a better doctor. His assistant Debbie G. is also very helpful and available.

Dr. Weiss is absolutely the best. People are always shocked when I tell them my OBGYN is a male but Dr. Weiss makes you feel so comfortable. I look forward to going to him whenever I need an appointment or check up. He is really amazing at what he does. My mother has been going to him for years and I am glad I followed in her footsteps. He is so kind, caring and patient. He will do whatever he can to help. There is a reason why his reviews are so positive. If you are looking for a good OBGYN or not happy with your current one — I HIGHLY suggest him. Great guy, great doctor. Thanks for being amazing, Dr. Weiss!

Dr. Weiss is an amazing, wonderful, patient, loving, funny, friendly, and warm spirited doctor. I suffered from fibroids inside and outside my uterus unnecessary for years. My previous doctors in Virginia and New York told me this was normal and allowed the fibroids to grow the size of grapefruits. I was told surgery was not needed.
I recently moved to California and through Unilocal I found Dr. Weiss based on the 5 star reviews.
In July 2015, I called his office and they immediately made me a doctor’s appointment.
I discussed my issues and Dr. Weiss requested an ultrasound. From there he suggested the fibroids be removed immediately. My surgery was on September 15^th. I feel amazing, healing fast, and I lost weight. Thank you Dr. Weiss… YOU ROCK

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Weiss! He performed the hysterectomy that I had been trying to avoid for many years. I was so afraid. Despite weight loss, radical changes to my diet and lifestyle, the uterine fibroids that I suffered from had to come out. Dr. Weiss is my mother-in-law’s gynecologist — she recommended him to me. I am so grateful that he come into my life. He is kind, warm, absolutely knowledgeable — as is his entire team. For the first time ever, I felt safe enough with a doctor to move forward with the surgery. I love this man. I trust him with my life. I offer my highest recommendation!

Wonderful office! I have been seeing the same doctor in Texas for the last 25+ years, so I was very nervous about going to somebody new, but now that I live in LA it was necessary. Dr. Weiss was listed on my insurance as one of the providers, so I looked him up on Unilocal (of course) and was sold by the great rating. I was immediately at ease when I entered his office. The suite itself is beautiful and in a wonderful location in Beverly Hills. It’s easy to find and his staff even told me of the free 2 hour parking in the garage around the corner. Before the exam I met with Dr Weiss in his office and I felt very comfortable in his presence. Very nice demeanor, easy to talk to, and thorough. Everything you need in a good, trustworthy doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Weiss and his friendly staff to anyone looking for a new doctor in the area.

I was referred to Dr Weiss by a long time friend. He was awesome he listen to my concerns which I had told my old OB. He figure out my issue and treated me. Improvement is on its way. The hubby will be very happy. You want a kind caring dr who takes his time to talk to you Dr Weiss is the way to go. I recommend him 100% and worth the drive on the 405.

Dr. Weiss is the BEST doctor ever! Very knowledgeable, patient, and a good listener. I love that he does whatever it takes to get to the root of the problem.

Dr. Weiss is great! My sister, my best friend, and I all see him. I continue to recommend him to others as well. He is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. His nurses are also fantastic. He has a nice office on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, come on you can’t get much better than that! I am always able to get a last minute appt when needed. There is reasonable valet parking with validation underneath the office. Go see Dr. Weiss, he is awesome!

Oh, Dr. Weiss. We love you. Let me count the ways… My husband and I adore this man. He came highly recommended by my gyno Kolleen Squires (no longer practicing OB) when we found out we were pregnant. From day one, he was personable, caring and really funny too. We drove from the valley (sometimes in disgusting traffic) just to receive his care. I always joked with my husband that I was getting pretty for him on days we had check ups.
On a serious note. During delivery my daughters heart rate was decelerating, her head was huge for a seven fiver and suctioning just wasn’t getting her out, so our hero stepped in and got her out safely. Obviously, we all wish for no medical interventions, but he had to do what he had to do and we are so grateful beyond any words for our beautiful healthy little girl.
Dr. Weiss is the complete package. I’m only sorry that my next visit with him is in a year, unless I get pregnant before then =)

We would like to thank Dr. Weiss for an outstanding help during our pregnancy with the successful delivery of our healthy twins born at weights of around 6lb on week 37 with c-​section. He supported us along the way with help, guidance and advice and all this with calm, warm and friendly demeanor with his outstanding attentive staff (Jennet in charge of the ultrasounds monitoring is an angel, Debbie G his personal assistance is great and the rest of the staff always there and happy to help) we had the best possible experience in one of the most special times in our lives.
