Pioneer Hardware

I am a big fan of the handyman service. I’ve used it for a variety of situations, such as fixing leaky toilets, changing light fixtures, repairing fence gates, hanging curtain rods on pesky plaster and lathe walls, etc.
Basically, it’s the perfect solution for anything that’s outside of your own comfort level but too small to hire a contractor. I’ve used several different handymen from Pioneer, and they have all been professional and wonderful.

When I walked into Pioneer Hardware, I was immediately transported back to the great hardware stores of the pre-​Depot world. I was visiting Los Angeles last month and my 92 year old uncle needed some small home repairs (light switch covers, plumbing etc). I was pressed for time and I needed a few things fast. Greeting me was a very helpful employee (I forgot his name) who led me around the store, they had everything I needed and had me back out to the garage behind the store (very convenient parking for Beverly Hills). The only problem I had was I forgot which level I had parked my car!!! Took me a few floors to realize I was on the first one so my rushing around the aisles probably was unnecessary. Next visit, I will take my time.

I really love this place. I went in here for just a hammer, but I got to looking around and this store has everything one could ever possibly need. Their service is impeccable. They ask if they can help you but if you say you are looking around they leave you alone. Awesome, that’s what I call customer service. We need more family owned businesses in this country. Keep up the good work.

Pioneer hardware (PH) is a cute little hardware store on crescent. You would imagine that a hardware store right in the heart of BH, it would be expensive without a good selection. Well, wrong! PH’s prices are quite good. It has quite a bit of selection and it’s very well stocked too.
PH is one of those family own and run store in the neighborhood for many decades. They are not only a hardware store, they also specialize in handyman work too. They can do just about anything and everything that you need done!
PH’s service is also impeccable. Every time I walk in the store, I get not 1, but several «how may I help you“s when I’m browsing through the isles!!. This time I needed to by some signs and VOILA! They have what I need as always. If I had gone to one of those big box stores, they are far and may not have it!
I love this neighborhood hardware store. There are plenty of 1 hr free parking garages available and plenty of street metered parking as well. There are grocery stores and USPS stores within walking distance too, so convenient! Highly recommend it & for sure I’ll be back !!

It’s a small location but they have a huge variety of items and it’s close by to a parking garage that has 1 hour free parking next to whole foods.
I had been to several places looking for paraffin wax to lubricate the squeaky trucks on my longboard and finally, these guys had it!
The staff was friendly and knowledgable and the free hammer deal is very nice.

We were looking for a handyman for a multitude of projects in the house. I ended up calling Pioneer Hardware in Beverly Hills (
) and spoke with the owner Jeff to see if he had any suggestions for a great handyman in the Valley, specifically Sherman Oaks area. Jeff told me that he has handymen located throughout the city that have worked for him for many years. He had Ed call us (as he is in the Valley) and after explaining our wish-​list of things to get done, we made a date. Ed was on time and to say the least, very experienced & very fast. He exceeded our expectations and we already have part II in the works for more things that we plan on doing in our home. It’s always such a great feeling to have faith in a vendor and Jeff/​Pioneer Hardware is absolutely the go-​to place for anything/​everything hardware but also finding GREAT handymen to do the work… the right way and trustworthy!!! Thank you Jeff, Ed, Pioneer! I’m always happy to spread the word of joy and connect great people/​vendors with others!!!

Good locksmith service, help me fix my lock in my apartment. on time and very professional.

Today was my first visit to PH. My apartment has been suddenly overrun with ants. I considered letting the ants just have my living room, but I like my couch and would like to use it. I walked in to PH and was instantly aware that they have everything. (As I later learned from the incredibly helpful staff, if they don’t have something they can order it). I was greeted with actual eye contact and a pleasant voice. I was offered assistance and then I explained my situation. The staff member who helped me was incredibly knowledgable.
Beware this place is old school– very narrow aisles with shelves chock full of merchandise.
The icing on the cake was when I checked out I was 4¢ short. I had been out walking when I stopped in and had limited money in my pocket. The cashier was sweet enough to tell me, «that’s okay. Don’t worry about it». I think we all know what would’ve happened if this scenario played out at one of the big, national stores.
I have used all the products suggested to me and have won the war against the ants!

This could have been my most epic review. But after a a great deal of reflection I decided not to dwell so much on the negative, only the positive. And besides, I don’t want it to take anything away from Ryan and everyone at Pioneer Hardware. But briefly as possibly here is the story.
It all began when I needed to have an antique watch wheel cutting machine repaired (t’s used as a display where I work). Its wooden base had cracked and since it’s so heavy it was in danger of falling over. The company I work for is extremely sensitive about this type of thing so I knew it was going to be a challenge to find just the right person to accomplish the task. Unilocal first led me to a business who stated they were a «Professional Conservator with over fifteen years of industry restoration experience». To me, the word or title «Professional» means someone who’s in a legitimate business. This was a mistake on my part. So consider yourselves warned that just because a business is listed on Unilocal it doesn’t mean that they have, for instance, a business license. When someone doesn’t have a business license that makes me suspicious that they wouldn’t necessarily have something like insurance either. Due to a series of fortunate events, at the last minute I realized that they weren’t right for this job. I feel like karma was looking out for me.
I was truly disappointed that things hadn’t worked out. I had gone to a lot of trouble getting corporate to approve the first person to do the work and then paying him $ 110 cash (no credit cards accepted). Actually it was a little embarrassing. But I knew I had to keep looking to find just the right person. In my next search results I noticed that Pioneer Hardware did minor furniture repairing. I had no idea. We use Pioneer for all of our various hardware needs but I never would have thought about asking them to repair the wooden base. What luck! I took the base over to show Ryan and after discussing it with him for 5 minutes I was sure he would do the perfect job. I left it with him right then and when I picked it up 3 days later I couldn’t even see where it had been broken in the first place. Cost: $ 10. Yes, TEN dollars! I even asked him if he was sure it was enough. Wow! It’s not like we’re their biggest customer either.
Pioneer Hardware serves the Beverly Hills community (and I’m sure way beyond as well) with a type of «old fashioned» customer service that is all too quickly disappearing from today’s retail landscape. We are so lucky to have them. They have an incredible stock of regular hardware items as well as things that are more technically oriented which comes in handy in my field. One could say that they are the perfect balance between a traditional and industrial hardware store. Because of this and because they know their products so well they can offer you excellent advice too. Try them out and you’ll see.

Is the best store ever. Even when is a little far from my house, the area and the store itself are very inviting. I cant wait to go again. Love it.

The employees here were so incredibly kind and helpful this morning! So much nicer than going to a big store like lowes or Home Depot! They helped me find everything I needed in just a few minutes and even gave me a few garbage bags at no cost. Highly recommended!

I walked into Pioneer Hardware on Tuesday to see what I needed. Immediately, Alex walked up to me and asked if she could assist me with anything. As I walked around, she helped me with several things, and really made quite a difference. Pioneer has mastered customer service. I cannot wait for my next visit there.

I like this place, because it has almost everything in such a small place. The customer service is awesome and it’s easy because it’s super close to work, the post office, and whole foods. I always make key copies here, even though it’s a bit expensive, it’s convenient. My only issue with it is that it’s a bit pricey. But hey, its in Beverly Hills.

This store is just amazing it has everything you need under one small roof and the employees actually know their stuff and know their products and stand behind their products
I made a key here and it somehow didn’t work as its supposed to the next day I went back no questions asked they made me a new key apologize and so nice and so professional
I especially I would like to compliment Amanda for everytime I come to the store she is always so helpful and knowledgeable.
I definitely recommend this store it’s one of the old treasures that the city of Beverly Hills still has.

I must say when you have a good owner the employees are good too I once went to buy some candles and realize I didn’t have my wallet he trusted me to come back another time and pay that’s just amazing!

Wonderful customer service! I just came from there looking for a specific screw for the arm of my chair. Both Roberto and Ryan took their time to help me find this very particular screw and I couldn’t be more appreciative. I promise to come back for other things. :)

Since I wrote my review a year ago, I’ve continued to visit Pioneer Hardware for odds and ends, and the service has become better and better. They’re ready to help when you walk in the store, but also don’t mind giving you space to wander (which is worth doing when you’re in a place like this). Product suggestion has also been spot-​on.

These guys are the best! Jeff wanted to make sure everything was right and that I was happy. Earned a customer for life. The best, and friendliest, customer service and they are right in the center of Beverly Hills, couldn’t be more convenient. Very impressed with service and selection. If you haven’t stopped by, check them out. No reason to trek out to a Home Depot. These guys are the neighborhood hardware store you grew up with. And lots of free parking right there!

This is the first review I have ever written on Unilocal,and it is so well-​deserved.
I came into Pioneer looking to buy a box to ship something from the post office next door. They didn’t have any boxes to sell at the moment, but helped me rifled around through the numerous boxes they had received until we found the perfect size. Then they helped me pack it up and make sure it was good to go. They are so generous with their time, and were all so positive and friendly. Ryan and his team are just awesome.
I live all the way in Manhattan Beach, and I would not hesitate to drive all the way to BH to buy any and everything from their store of hardware/​general goods/​nick nacks, hard to find stuff, and more.

Ants in my pantry! Well, I never!
Seriously, I’ve never had a pest problem.
Sharing space with a pet, even if I didn’t, I’m wary of toxic, mainstream means to exterminate. Pacifist that I am, I prefer to deter.
