The only problems that this place suffers is a lack of customers which is the result of Binghamton being a post-industrial rusty run-down sack of shit town where everyone eats fast food and the only people who can be bothered(or can afford) to try out a fun new lunch spot are invariably students. That being said, this place could really thrive with better foot traffic on Chenango street, because from what I’ve seen and tasted here these folks are very good at what they do. Lots of reviewers here seem to think this is long island or Brooklyn or something. Chill. I recommend anything containing the aioli.

Definitely a good little find! I wouldn’t go out of my way necessarily but definitely worth it if your anywhere near downtown looking for a good, well priced lunch! Coffee was decent, got a turkey chipotle special as a panini which was pretty good, chipotle sauce was excellent. Owner was very friendly and helpful, definitely cares for his work and customers making this place a great local business to support!

Solid little place but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to go back here. The soup I got was decent but needed some tweaks to really make it awesome. The pumpkin cookie was huge and pretty tasty but nothing really unique. They do have a variety of specials every day which is nice and the prices are very fair. So yeah if you’re in a hurry for lunch and in the area by all means give it a try!

I stopped in today for the turkey panini special and decided to try their potato salad and a cupcake. I am extremely picky about potato salad and have to say I have NEVER had any that tasted that good. The pumpkin cupcake was to die for. It even had a little extra frosting in the middle.

Awesome place! Their milk shakes are awesome and their wraps are really good. Unfortunately there isn’t much else on the street, but it allows this little café to stick out. The owner was very nice and the works were very accommodating. Great customer service. Get the banana and nutella shake!

Kind of depressing to walk to this coffee shop and find that it is the only inhabited building on the street. That being said, they’ve done their best to make you comfortable, with some outdoor seating, wifi, and decent coffee. Alexander definitely runs this joint all by himself. I came in for breakfast, and while I was looking at the menu(a little scattered all over the walls), Alexander was like«I see you’re looking at our breakfast sandwiches… I could fry you up an egg, if you want.» It’s exactly what I wanted, but I got the vibe that he just sort of made you whatever you wanted out of whatever he happened to have. If you’re debating, I say go. The guy is nice, and working really hard totally independently. Support that. Seriously, the coffee and sandwich I had were both totally good.

the subs are pretty good here, i haven’t had a bad one yet. the Scorcher is really good and they also have a pretty good ham sub as well. i like the bread they use and they have a few different aiolis to choose from. i also had a breakfast sandwich here and i was kind of underwhelmed with it but only because i felt the bagel used on it was kinda cheap. they have good sides too, i really liked the mashed potato salad. the mac salad is decent but i felt the egg chunks were a little to big for my tastes. the place is nice and alexander is very friendly, unlike the owner of the other downtown sub shop(old world deli). my only complaint is the desserts. there aren’t too many to choose from and the ones i did try were really nothing special. i actually came here expecting it to be more of a bakery, but i guess i just assumed that because this is the old Chroma location, and i wanted to see who was brave enough to compete with them. Alex does make some great sandwiches though and if you’re in the area you should definitely check him out

Neat little place with an old storefront feel with large windows. Alexander is extremely friendly, the food is great and lunch is available early which is nice.

Alexander’s is my go to spot for a breakfast sandwich and coffee, and also for lunch. The shop owner, Alexander, is almost always behind the counter, ready to greet you with an enthusiastic smile. He’s young and friendly, and makes awesome sandwiches. I really hope this place succeeds. The Scorcher, a spicy chicken panini is my go to option for lunch. The chef specials are also frequently excellent, including the pastrami reuben that i just enjoyed. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. They also have great desserts. Definitely recommended.
