Jax Kar Wash

I have been to Jax a lot since they are in my neighborhood. Sometimes during the winter I will get the inside and outside wash, and they do a pretty good job. If I just need a quick wash, the basic exterior only wash is good too.
Today I told the attendant that my wheels were really dirty, and he recommended the exterior everything wash. He said they would get my wheels clean. I was a little apprehensive since the everything exterior wash is $ 20 vs. the $ 6 standard exterior wash.
Everything about the wash was as usual. When I got home, it was a different story. I inspected the car, and it was still really dirty. The wheels looked like they weren’t touched at all, and the only clean part of my car was the hood and windshield. Both the front and rear numbers were still dirty and anything below two feet still had dirt and mud on it. I have paid for the $ 6 wash with much better results. My car wasn’t even that dirty to begin with.
Save yourself a bunch of money and don’t pay for anything more than the basic wash. You’ll be disappointed otherwise.

Great wash. the guys really are thorough while wiping down the inside. If you’re not happy for some reason they’ll let u run through again, no charge. 5 Star!

Another great car wash from Jax! This is the only car wash I’ve found to actually complete with precision every detail that was listed on the menu board. Friendly and professional. Once again my comfort level was very high!

This place is FANTASTIC!!! I never get my car cleaned anywhere else! From the moment you pull up you will be greeted by a super friendly customer service agent that will go over packages with you for full service (meaning they clean the inside and outside) or exterior only. They also have add-​ons like hand waxing, carpet shampoo, seat cleaning (really worth it for only $ 16.99 a row), and more. I always get the full service. Some of the levels include more stuff and they let you come back and get another round for free within X amount of days. They vaccine my trunk when I open it and I have rubber mats and they wash them, which I LOVE! No one has ever washed my mats at a full service wash for free — thanks guys! All the Jax are connected too so your loyalty rewards and free washes are all connected. Check them out! Everyone is very sweet and they do a great job!

If I’m going to pay $ 160 plus for a detailing I expect my car to look dang near new. Instead, what I got was a quick wipedown I could have done myself in a hr. It was barely cleaner and after I got my car back I noticed areas of dirt that could have been easily cleaned but were ignored. Hardly what I wanted, next time I’ll take my car to the honda dealership where for 200 $ it will look new.

We all have those days when you just NEED your car to gleam to bring you out of your funk, especially when the temperature gets over 70. When those days hit for me, you’ll find me pulling my ride in through Jax Kar Wash.
While there is almost always a line, I look at it as a positive. Lot’s of people know about this place because you leave feeling like a baller, even if your car is not fit for a 3^rd world country. Sure, the inside of my car is still a cluster fuck of magazine, granola bars, empty bottles and more, but on the outside? Shit man, my boy Jax has me covered. If you’re in the area and need a good scrubbing down, pop on in and let this place man-​handle you and your ride. It’ll be the best five minutes of your life.

I have mixed feelings on this location. Originally, I had brought my car in for an interior clean after receiving an email for 10% off for email subscribers. When I got there I asked for the 10% off special and the man was incredibly rude about it stating I’m not in the system for that and if it came to my email I needed to print it off. I brushed it off and paid full price for my carpet shampoo and interior detail. Fast forward an hour. They called and said my car was ready. Upon arrival I was brought to my car for inspection. It looked decent at first glance so I accepted it and drove off. While driving I noticed my windows hadn’t even been touched with windex or anything of the sort and looked further to find tons of dirt still throughout the car. I called back and the women recommended I bring it back the following day so the detail manager could look at it so I did. He was very apologetic but also could not get me in and requested I come back yet again the following day. I am not from this area so at this point I’m pretty irritated about having to come down there again. I come back the next day and was told very rudely that they were busy and I would have to wait quite a bit so I requested the manager. He got me in quickly and did a great job cleaning up the mess that was still in there. When I went to leave, my car had been put into 4 LO while cleaning and would not go back into 2 wheel drive. I see this isn’t the fault of Jax being that they were trying to clean my car but I ended up paying $ 400 for repairs on top of the $ 78 for the detail because of this and had a lot of time wasted due to poor service.
I will not be going back to this location again.

The first thing you would do after coming here is looking for another car wash. I can’t believe just how awful this place is. Really bad job, like the worst ever with high prices.

Go to place for car wash. Fast and friendly service. Waiting area is clean and cool during the summer months.
Just learned about some awesome deals that I was missing out on. Guess it is important to read the receipt! They give you five days to return for a free wash in case of rain or if you drive through a huge puddle after pulling onto Woodward. Some deals also include 30% of repeat wash.

I really don’t care for this location of Jax. While the staff is super friendly, the set up and quality of wash is atrocious. I’m pretty awesome at maneuvering my vehicle, but two out of three times I end up looking like an idiot while lining my tires up with the track due to the hairpin turn you’re expected to make. I don’t like looking like an idiot. I’m also disappointed with the outcome of the car after the wash. I drive to Chicago a lot and this location can’t seem to remove the dead bugs from the windshield, front bumper or grill. This is not a staff issue and I hate to give a poor review because they really are friendly and professional here. I will come here out of convenience, but I prefer the West Bloomfield location for a perfect wash.

Hate this place, they treat me like shit because I’m not rich or a girl lol. Machines bash my car, lost my rain guard. Bunch of assholes that work there. Guess that’s what you get when you drive a ford fusion and not an Audi.

This Jax always feels like the original to me — whether it is or not. As usual, they do a good job. It’s unfortunately not touchless, but it does the trick! I always enjoy the towel dry too.

I would frequent JAx when I lived on this part of town. Mr C’s on the east side is a MUCH better option. People are so miserable at Jax. It seems to be a place where souls go to die. No smiles, 0.0 enthusiasm. I always feel like I have to lock up all my possessions before I turn my car over to the staff. It also always seems like the guys who are going to clean the inside of my car are eating greasy chips before they spring into action. Booooooo Jax.

I do enjoy washing my car, but need my car washed more often than I personally have time to wash it, so invariably end up going to the car wash.
We are new to the area, and have been to this location three times now, with two of our cars, and will never go back. Both cars have come out with new scratches each time we’ve been there.
The prewash is inadequate, the staff’s performance is poor (pricing is variable for same service, prewash is lousy as mentioned, drive through wash is rough as mentioned, drying is hastily completed /​incompleted), and the facility is in awful repair.
I did not come to Unilocal to write a bad review (was looking for good reviews of local carwashes, actually); but felt compelled to write when I saw this listed in the results…
This is an awful carwash, and based on my experience here, I certainly will not try any other Jax location.
