Our full-​service spa maintains a warm and inviting atmosphere with a friendly staff dedicated specifically to catering to every customer and their needs. Spa treatments we offer range from — manicures and pedicures, to various types of facials, waxing, massage therapy, body treatments, body scrubs, eyelash extensions, makeup services and even chiropractic care. Renaissance goes beyond the basic day spa offerings and provides additional medspa services, such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion.

As the Owner/​Manager of the Spa, Natalya has come to cherish the Bloomfield Hills community, as well as the many clients and business associates she has met from this area throughout the years. Natalya began her career as an esthetician over 20 years ago when she was growing up in Russia, and she is very grateful and proud of the opportunities she has had to broaden her 20+ years of experience.

You can feel confident with Natalya’s multiple degrees in Cosmetology, countless hours of training and specialty certifications, and previous employment by world-​class cosmetic specialists such as Estee Lauder, Natalya is fully prepared to meet your medicinal spa needs!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I have never been treated more rudely in my entire life, and I’m advising everyone to never step foot into this business. I had received a groupon for my birthday for a mani pedi and made an appointment. I was running late due to a situation that was out of my control (which I explained) and the receptionist told me that because I didn’t show up for my appointment that my groupon was invalid and they wouldn’t accept it. Excuse me? They were basically claiming that the money paid for the services was gone, and when I asked to speak to the manager she was relatively nice but continued to tell me that there was nothing she could do (which is false because I called groupon and they cannot do that). The owner then took the phone and started to yell, and proceeded to tell me that I cannot make an appointment and SHUT THE PHONE IN MY FACE. I called back furious and she answered again and said «We will not give you our services» and SHUT THE PHONE AGAIN. That is no way to treat customers and I recommend you never give your business to these individuals because they will not respect you. I’m calling groupon to redeem my money because I’d rather lose the money I paid for the mani pedi then ever give them my business again. DO NOT GO HERE.

This was my second visit to Renaissance Spa (because the first time they told me I didn’t have an appointment when I clearly did… had to speak to the owner who apologized and offered to honor my Groupon and throw in a paraffin hand treatment).
When I walked in, was greeted by the receptionist who was friendly and then taken back to the pedicure area. There was not a lot of color selection and I was informed that they do not do shellac/​gel/​no-​chip nails. The pedicure area had a bunch of small sinks to put your feet in which seemed odd to me and the soap did not look like the ones that I had seen at other places. The lady doing my pedicure was so gentle that I did not really feel like it did anything. The towel that they used had marks on it so not even sure how clean it was. The lady walked away twice to take care of something else, IN THE MIDDLE OF the pedicure! So rude! They also used tissue to separate the toes instead of a separator… but she did a good job with painting the nails.
The mani was ok. Nothing spectacular.
Overall less than average experience and I will not be returning.

Oh and just a follow up: nail polish was already off last night (2 days it was on) and my nail polish from before she did it was still underneath… She told me we didn’t need to take it all off… Wish I could give Zero stars!

Horrific customer service. Whoever answers the phones is very snotty and made me feel like an idiot for calling 5 days in advance for a mani/​pedi service. She was very rude during the entire conversation. The service itself was sub par. I will not be returning.

My visit to Renaissance Spa was for a manicure/​pedicure and a brow wax & tint. Both experiences were nice. I will return.
Some of the things I appreciated:
* Everyone remembered my name
* Manicurist (Lana) did a lovely job with my hands and feet. I am very tough on my nails and I walked out of there with my nails looking very healthy and beautiful.
* They offered me tea and water (I had some herbal tea)
* My brow wax and tint turned out nicely too. I have very light brows and I am very picky about how those things are done. Natalie did a great job working with me on the right shape and color. I am grateful for that.
I appreciated that the staff connected with each other to make sure I stayed on track for my next service. I also appreciate that the bathroom was perfectly clean as I am a bit fastidious.
One thing that might be challenging for some people is that the space has a European, small feel to it. Personally, I think the manicure area probably has one station too many because the day I was there it got a bit busy and I could feel it. And, it also felt a little like a place where friends gather. I can’t quite explain it, cuz people didn’t know each other, but there was a friendliness about the place. I liked that a lot!
I’m giving Renaissance Spa 4 stars because I felt well cared for before, during and after my experience.

I took an European facial. However, the facial technician did not exfoliate and extract my skin, and she even didn’t apply moisture with SPF for such a sunny day! Worst of all, my skin begin to irritate and peel on the next day, because of their harsh products. If possible, I will give negative stars to express my disappointment and anger!!!
This place does not worth a visit, seriously!

I had a groupon for spa services. I had a Brazilian wax and underarms. I don’t think they know what a Brazilian is, I had hair still everywhere and she never even asked me to flip. When she said I was done I couldn’t believe it. I asked her what about the back she said that was highly unusual and then said «If you really want it, I will do it. but its not like anyone will ever see back there» LOL! Geez lady, how crass! Anyway, terrible experience, rude staff, unknowledgeable, uncomfortable. Waste of my time and money

THE RED-​HAIRED LADY WAS HORRIBLE!!! I have never been treated so rudely in my life and I wish I could build a time machine for the sole purpose of going back and saving myself from all the b. s!
Even with paying a discounted rate through groupon it was a total waste of money and time. Instead of doing her job, she was being accusatory and rude saying she couldn’t believe I never had a dermatologist tell me I have severe acne (even though I’ve been to a dermatologist and they’ve said my skin is fine).
What’s even more hilarious is the sign in their waiting room saying that Unilocal is not to be trusted because of a law suit being filed. Ummmm… I would think if EVERYBODY is giving a bad review and it’s an open platform, then maybe, JUST MAYBE it sucks.
How about LEARNING from critique instead of denying it and burying your head in the sand even further-​just a humble thought…

My boyfriend and I went to Renaissance Spa for a facial. He didn’t receive the same treatment that I did. The OWNER did his facial and rushed the entire time and didn’t do a full facial.
I called a few days later to let her know that I was not satisfied with the services and she yelled at me on the phone. I honestly couldn’t believe it because I was very nice and professional about it and she was so rude and then hung the phone up on me!
I’ve never had a business owner be so unprofessional!

My review is on my esthetican only.
Rachel is amazing, she is kind and gentle. She has waxed my legs, underarms, eyebrows, upper lip, and Brazilian!!! She is the only one I trust. She lets me know what I need done when I need it and only then. I started going to Rachel over a year and a half ago and will follow her wherever she is at. She is personable and makes you feel comfortable, always professional. I plan to see her for a facial next.

I bought a groupon with a friend and we were pretty excited to try a new place. We called ahead to make an appointment and were told that it would be at least two weeks. We were bummed but decided to make an appointment for a little under a month from now. We were then told that they can’t see is for at least a month and that they have pre existing clients that are priority and that they can’t take us. What the hell. I get mani/​pedis ALL THE TIME and have never been treated this way. If I ever get the chance to see their precious establishment I’m sure ill be disappointed judging by other reviews. Goodluck to anyone with a groupon!

Do I seriously have to wait over 2 weeks for a mani-​pedi? I haven’t even gotten to use my Groupon for this place but I have to make the appointment that far in advance. I find that quite ridiculous. I wish I would have read these reviews before buying the groupon. Apparently this place has no idea how to book or do customer service.

My husband got me a living social deal for an hour facial. My appointment was for a Friday at 6pm, they called me on Thursday to confirm my apt, then I received a call about 2 hours later asking if I wanted to come at 5 since they had a cancellation. I explained I couldn’t get out of work early enough and could not change the time. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when they called me the day of the apt around 3pm to tell me the woman who does the facials had an «emergency» and couldn’t do it I would have to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following Thursday at 6pm, never received a confirmation the day before so I called at noon to confirm. They then called me around 4pm to ask if I could come 20 mins late that they were running behind… I grudgingly agreed, I arrived about 5 mins early, waited and waited. Finally at 6:30 I told the receptionist I could not wait any longer. She wanted to reschedule me! I already waited 30 mins for my apt and had rescheduled for them once! Needless to say my facial was started about 45 mins late! The facial itself was very nice. The scheduling not so much. I would not return due to the hassle. Seemed like a normal issue there as I heard the receptionist calling to reschedule other appointments while I was waiting.

Visited this spa to use the groupon my hubby got me for mothers day. When I arrived, promptly for my appointment, the lobby was busy and noisy. The receptionist seemed overwhelmed and ignored me for a minute, but then checked me in (no offer of water, or mention of when I would get the champagne and chocolates that were included with my package).
The massage therapist took me back to the room which was literally 10 steps from the noisy lobby, and also directly next to the bathroom. The only thing she asked me was if I had had a massage before (which I have) and told me to undress. She didn’t ask me what type of pressure I liked, or what areas I thought needed more work. The room was crowded and with the noise of the lobby, not ideal. Also, the therapists personal belongings (starbucks cup and sandwich) were just laying on a table in the room. So after a too gentle massage, she told me to dress and shed meet me I the lobby, obviously unaware I was also getting a facial, so I had to inform her. She left the room and she and the receptionist scrambled to find me a robe. I was surprised when I exited the room that my champagne was actually waiting for me.
The facial was awesome! I would give it 5 stars if purely reviewing the facial technician.
When I left, I encountered another receptionist who didnt offer to rebook me and was cautiously watching me stuff the tip envelopes and reminded me how much the services regularly cost.
I would buy Another groupon for a facial but would not go back otherwise, nor pay full price!

I usually go to another european day spa in Birmingham, but decided to try out Renaissance spa because it was a closer to my house. Big mistake!
First of all I walked in and was greated, but not offered anything to drink like most spa’s do. While i was waiting there was an employee (who actually ended up being my esthetician and is the owner) complaining about something to the receptionist for 15 min right in front of me. Finally she came up to me abruplty asking me if I was Amy* and then said «follow me». So Rude! No Hello my name is, no how are you?, nothing.

Then when we were finally about to get started on my wax serivce she realized the receptionist booked my appt wrong. She told me she would be right back… Another 10min waiting… My appt finally started ½ hour after it was supposed to. I said something to the esthetician about starting so late because I had another appt to go to and she disagreed with me. She said «no I’m starting your appt 15 min late. you’ll be fine.» That was the last straw for me. I knew I should of just got up and walked out!

She left little bits of wax all over me and did a decent job. I ended up being late for my other appt. I have gotten better waxing done other places!

I used to be a hairdresser in a high end salon. This is not how your supposed to treat your clients. Especially if your the owner! Dont you want new clients to come back?!

I will definitely be driving the extra few miles and pay five dollars more to be treated like royalty at the spa that I usually go to.
