Easily the most authentic Mexican food in Southern Beaufort County. A place for the mildly courageous foodie who appreciates simplistic quality. Everything is made in-house by the owner’s mother. Everything. From the tortillas to the soups to the cantaloup«water», it’s like eating at somone’s grandmother’s house in central Mexico. The lunch buffet is the best deal in Bluffton regardless of the style of food. $ 5.99 for a pleasantly moderate variety of choices, not your typical steam table of gluttony and guilt. But be fore warned that there may be some choices a little too authentic for the average gringo, like ox tails and tripe(love the tripe). There ARE always a few nice vegetable, egg and fresh fruit selections. Besides the buffet, there is a full lunch and dinner menu. It may take a little translating and the staff is not always the best assisting in describing some of the dishes, but even when i was brought what I was not expecting I was pleasantly surprised(read: grilled quail). There is a full bar with your typical Mexican cervezas, a few specialty drinks and a better than average selection of tequilas. The atmosphere is typical of most small Mexican places in the area. It’s the food that shines.
