We stopped in twice in the past few weeks. For the first visit, we went somewhat out of the way to get there because of some great online reviews. What stuck us most was how large a 20″ pizza is, huge. It was good but I like it crispier on the bottom and hotter overall. I like to be able to hold it in one hand without it flopping over. Maybe not possible at 20″. A few weeks later, we were in the area and went for a second visit. Same results. I think I like Tucci’s better.

Pizza does not have enough sauce for my taste. Ordered a side of meatballs and the sauce needs to cook more. Pizza took an hour and ½ to arrive cold. Not very good. There are better places in the area

So my friend and I drove 25 miles to come here for pizza and I we honestly don’t have enough good things to say about this place. My friend went to the cook and told him that she should have worn stretchy pants. Seriously good pizza… period!

We came here from the great Unilocal ratings and boy are we glad that we did! This is NY style pizza! We ordered a large half lasagna and half Hawaiian pizza and both sides were just amazing. I did think it could of been a bit hotter and the crust crispier, but the flavors and quality of the ingredients are definitely there. The lasagna was more of a white pizza with meatballs and sauce drizzled on top, and the Hawaiian was more of a classic, great flavor to the sauce, nice chunks of ham, and very good. I can’t wait to go back!

Worst pizza I’ve ever had. First they told me it would take an hour and it took an hour and a half. The size of the pizza was good but the bottom of it was blackest tar and tasted like Burnt cardboard. And the guy on the phone have an attitude problem. The only way for me to post this is to give them one star but there’s no option to give them a –5 stars, I called and complained they sent me a new pizza it took an hour and a half again to get it and it was OK. Not Burton this time anyway!

My buddy and I were glued to the couch watching football and getting inebriated and decided to try Manhattan Joe’s. Joe answered the phone, thanked us as first timers, and took our order. Being one with the couch; we were in no mood to chase limes for our corona’s, so I thought I’d ask WILDJOE if he could help. He didn’t have limes, but did have lemons and happily provided us the lemon at no charge! This is taking that proverbial«extra step» we all hear about. ANYONE could’ve said no to this request. Joe did not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The pizza was excellent, hot, ny style, and the lemon WASPERFECT!!! We will order here again!!!

After having a Pizza Hut dinner box a few weeks ago I was very disappointed(figures), then I thought let me look on Unilocal for the best pizza near my house in Delray. The first review I read about was«Manhattan Joe’s best pizza away from NY,» that was good enough for me to try along with the 4⁄5 star review. Anyways yesterday when I got there it was a legit pizza joint, small and simple. But the customer service was on point along with the pizza. I ordered a 13″ with ¼ pineapple, ¼ meat lovers and the ½ margerita, I was charged extra for the topping but MJ’s made it happen without any resistance. The crust was nice and thin, with that perfect crunch. The sauce wasn’t to salty and was perfectly displayed on my 13″ pie. The toppings were so juicy I had multiple mouth-gasms. The fact that I love food challenges, pizza and still wasn’t full, I ordered another 13″ for myself to take home that night! If you’re looking for awesome, flavorful pizza, hit up Manhattan Joe’s, you won’t be disappointed!

Spot on pizza. Very good. Delivery time was reasonable the first time(almost an hour) but I knew the second time to order in advance. Called at 1 asked for 3 pm delivery. Pizza arrives at 258. Everyone was happy and they are LARGE slices.

So a few weeks ago we decided to grab a pizza(something I have eaten many of before, but try to eat none of now) and after looking on Unilocal for what Boca’s best offerings were, we found MJ’s. So, we made the drive over and the first thing I noticed was the price. I personally think that NY style pizza doesn’t warrant a high price point, but maybe that’s just me. We ordered the large Vegetarian Pizza to the tune of 23 bucks. We were told it would take a few minutes to make the pizza, so we walked across the way for an item and came back to get our pizza. When I came back in, the guy who sold it to me was cleaning the floor as they were just about to close. I asked if I could get a side of peppers to go, and he was quick to ask what kind and I said I would like a mix up of the different ones they had and without skipping a beat, he quickly went to the cooler and brought out 3 huge jars of peppers, then proceeded to reach in, all hand, no glove to grab some from each jar and throw them into a container for me. I thought it was very nice of him to do that on the fly, and not charge me for it, but bro. please use gloves, especially after I just saw you stop mopping the floor. So we take the pizza home and get situated and as Jinx gets to her third or 4th bite, she finds a wood chip(yes, I said wood chip) in the pizza. To say the least, that was it. After the peppers going straight to the trash and finding that in a slice, we were done. So the next day I call and speak to Joe who takes down my name and info and we arrange for me to come pick up my refund. When I came by, I was told I had to come back when Joe was there, and I was finally able to a week later. Now, had none of that happened, I would’ve given this place 3 stars on their pizza. The pizza is ok, but I find it to be expensive for NY style. I thought the pizza was just ok. I was given the option to get another pie or a refund, and I chose refund. For what it’s worth, I highly respect being given that option and it being honored.

I was really disappointed with the cheese pizza and garlic knots. I was taken back at first because of the price — $ 20 for a large pie but decided it was probably worth it. I was wrong. The pizza was too thin and the sauce was not that great. The crust was also bad. I took a bite from the garlic knots hoping at least they were going to be good — I took a big bite and spit it right out because the taste was so unbearably bad. It tasted like there was lemon juice in the garlic rolls and I just did not like that combination. I don’t know why there’s so much rage about this pizza. It’s really not that great.

I come from NY and I just moved to Delray a few months ago after living there for the first 27 years of my life. So many Floridians claim to know what good pizza is and they really don’t. No offense. This is actually great pizza even on NY standards. I wish I lived a tad closer because it’s about 20 minutes away from my house. But either way I need to get back there ASAP because all the places closer to me are just no where near as good.

Place SUCKS!!! Sorry, no other way to describe the place. Can never get a pie cooked right… who puts pepperoni on a pie after it cooks??? They always claim to be too busy… however, when we pick up the order, the place is always dead. Their done with us… avoid this place! btw…No way these guys were brought up in NY.

I promised Beth F that I would review this place so I am lol. I had driven by Manhattan Joe’s a few times and always noticed how packed it was. I made a mental note to stop by and try it out. I finally did so after my colleague and fellow Unilocaler Jeff K told me how good it was. It is in a small space with about five tables inside. There are a few tables outside as well. As soon as you walk in you’re hit with the smell of pizza!!! There is a giant menu with the offerings on the wall. This is strictly a pizza and sandwich place. After debating with myself on what to get I decided to go with a simple 13″ pepperoni pie. As I waited people just kept on coming in for pickups non stop. I was starving so this was torture but also a great sign that I was in for a good pie. When my pie came out of the oven the guy asked me if I wanted cheese sprinkled on top. I obviously said, «Fuc@ yeah.» As soon as the pie was put down in front of me I wasted no time digging in. The pie was piping hot which is how I like it. It was thin with a small but perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The sauce was awesome. It had a medium balance to it. They use a good cheese here. They were generous with the pepperoni. I would recommend eating inside if you can and not doing takeout here. Is this authentic NY pizza? I have absolutely no idea!!! When I’m in NY I only eat pizza at Lombardi’s on Spring Street. I will be back for sure and I recommend that you try Manhattan Joe’s too.

I was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens. Not surprisingly, I’m a total NY pizza snob. I only get regular cheese slices back home(maybe a pepperoni once in a blue moon) and if the slice doesn’t have a crispy bottom and crust and just the right amount of quality sauce and cheese, it’s a complete debacle for me. That goes twofold if they tout New York-ness in their name or advertising. After stopping by Manhattan Joe’s a few times I’m glad to say that they have some really good slices, probably in the top 3 that I’ve had in Florida. The taste is spot on and every slice I’ve ordered was perfect. My only gripe is that it’s a touch on the small side for $ 3, or maybe I’m just spoiled living in NY. Either way, I definitely recommend Manhattan Joe’s for a good slice.

This is some of the best pizza in Boca and in South Florida. It was the second place I ate in Boca, and the place that made me think South Florida must have really good pizza. Nope — this place is just really, really good. The location is small — there are a few tables inside and out, not amounting to many. We came on super bowl weekend — and ordered a pizza to eat outside. Despite getting a ton of calls for a lot of super bowl orders(which was still on the next day but people were calling ahead like crazy) they stayed on track and our pizza was out quickly. The pizza is delicious — a thin-but-not-too-thin crust that is soft yet crispy in all of the right places. Really good cheese and veggies. A light amount of tasty sauce. Really flavorful — and not incredibly greasy either. I think ordering out own pizza was the best way — you get it hot right out of the oven, which makes it even better.

No other way to say it. This place is the REALDEAL. Amazing. I am going to start getting delivery from here and no where else EVER again. New York pizza — authentic. PERIOD. EXCLAMATIONPOINT. Can you tell I am excited to find this place?(recommended by fellow Unilocalers). We had cheese and pepperoni New York Style Pizza and a slice of the Sicilian right out of the oven. We got to pick the square we wanted. The dough on both was phenomenal. And the sauce! The guys are super nice while extremely busy. They know the drill. They also have calzones and salads I will definitely try. Not a large restaurant… more of a take out kinda place but with a handful of tables inside and outside of you want to grab a bite. We went at lunch time and loved it and both left raving about the place. Haven’t come down off my pizza high yet!

I have had this place bookmarked for a while now. They have excellent reviews on Unilocal and I couldn’t wait to try them. South Florida has so many pizza places that claim they have NY style pizza. Some actually do but sadly most don’t. Yesterday I had the opportunity to find out for myself. I agree with the other reviewers & must admit that Manhattan Joe’s is the real deal. My slice was thin, crispy & had lots of gooey cheese. The sauce was delicious & the pizza had the perfect balance of cheese & sauce. Manhattan Joe’s is a small NY style pizza place. You order at the counter & they have a few tables. The place is very clean & the two men behind the counter were very friendly too. They also deliver to the local area. I am looking forward to trying their meatball hero which I heard is amazing. If your in Boca and want delicious pizza you have to try Manhattan Joe’s. It’s really very good.

Your only option for a good slice of pizza or grabbing a pizza to go. This is «real» pizza and not the trash you get elsewhere. Once a week customer here — probably for life. Pizza is cooked, not greasy and generous toppings. The staff is also great and will actually have a conversation with you. Not just take your money and run.
