For the love of god, ORDER A CHEESEPLATE! Their cheese course with honey is the most memorable item that I ate. It was to die for. Beautiful selection of goat cheese, which happens to be my favorite. Their swordfish entrée is what I ordered and personally found the fish to be dry and under seasoned. This was my first time ordering swordfish and although it was beautifully plated, the flavors didn’t make me want to order it again. And I love fish. Their crab cakes were good. They don’t stand out in my memory but that’s probably because the cheese course took the spot light. Excellent service, friendly staff at both dinner and breakfast. Our server was extremely accomodating to my request of alcohol free sauces, she made sure to present me with many options for side dishes/sauces. I really appreciated this. Beautiful views! We’d come back and try other menu items. I know that my husband enjoyed his breakfast of eggs benedict. Their desserts were great! The chocolate cake is a must. Also they were very friendly and accomodating to our 11 month old baby, which I really appreciated. We felt welcome as guests.

Hidden gem… who knew!?! We live in the area and dining options have always been somewhat limited. Our usual go to spot for a nice dinner is Terrapin up the road but it was closed the night we wanted to go out, so we decided to give this place a try, though we were somewhat dubious about a hotel restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! Lovely views, great service by our waiter Joaquin, generous wine pours and FANTASTIC food. Hands down the best gnocchi I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of gnocchi! Ditto for my husband’s short ribs. Alas, we didn’t have room for dessert. Next time. Only quibble is the room, newly constructed and rather cold and soulless, despite the fireplace, but the good food and warm welcome more than made up for it. Tables are nicely spaced, the acoustics are conducive to conversation, and as the days get longer, the spectacular view will be even more on display. Can’t wait to go back.

We took a quick trip up to the Bodega Bay Lodge for my partner’s birthday, and had a wonderful dinner. we were seated by the window overlooking the water. We both love oysters, and the ones here were perfect, briny, tasted like they were right out of the water. We then ate up every bite of a butter lettuce salad with pt reyes blue cheese, cranberries, pears and pecans. Their way with vegetables continued with the flatbread topped with peppers, onions, mushrooms and more. We finished with a special, seared scallops that we both agreed were perhaps the best either of us had ever had, just impeccably fresh. All in all, a lovely experience.

Just a wonderful meal. Unpretentious with good wine offerings and very well thought out food selections. Warm ambience and good service. I’m definitely planning on staying at the lodge.

We were really excited this restaurant was open until 11pm as stated on Unilocal! However, when we arrived at 9:08p we were told that it was wrong. The host, David, told us to wait a minute and he would talk with the manager to see if there was a chance we could be served. two minutes later, he comes out with menus to seat us(a party of 6). Juaquin and another server [didn’t get a good look at the name tag :-(] aimed to please. The food was exquisite, mouth watering, and the presentation was Chef Ramsey worthy. Thank you to everyone who made our late dinner possible. And Unilocal… please change the time for establishment! The Chowder is amazing and for kids the chicken tenders and French fries are the best!(Most flavorful chicken tenders we’ve ever tasted)

We came here based on Unilocal reviews. The road sign is a bit small, and finding the restaurant was a little tricky. The ambiance is upscale(wash cloths in the bathroom)(except no hooks for jacket/purse, and no toilet seat covers). There are lots of windows with massive views of the bay. At 10 am the place was packed! We took the last table there. The host was very apologetic and told us they were very short staffed. With that said our service was great, and the wait was only about 20 minutes. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it was perfect… the salmon was smoked just right. My husband had ham and eggs. He also had coffee which was really strong and really good!

Stayed at the hotel for several days. Had meals here often. Excellent breakfast and dinner menus. Breakfast orders were large servings. Dinner meals were elegantly designed and simply scrumptious. Semi formal dining in style. Superb waiter service. Relaxing ambiance. Pricey but I see why.

The duck was fantastic! Perfectly prepared with a unique flavor that was particularly sweet. The sides were a bit boring, but were well prepared. The blue cheese salad was forgettable. Large lettuce leaves and not enough of anything else is what I’ll remember. The vanilla bean crème brûlée was excellent.

This place is a lovely find. The chef is superb, the setting is beautiful, the staff is great. The room has a beautiful view and a nice fireplace. We ate there our first night at Bodega Bay Lodge and the food was so good that we cancelled our reservation elsewhere and ate here a second night. The Hawaiian swordfish special was the lightest, freshest swordfish I have ever had and was paired with a great sauce and local fresh vegetables. The oysters and vegetables and strawberries in the superb fresh strawberry pie are all local, as is most of the fish. They tell you where all the fish was caught. It sounds crazy to rave about the chefs fresh creamed corn recipe, but it was that good! And the chef even let the waitress tell me the secrets of how it is made. I live on the east coast but someday I will be back to Bodega Bay Lodge and this restaurant!

One of my favorite brunch restaurants in the area. They have very good crab eggs benedict and a bloody mary to complement it that is amazing. However, the service is a little on the weak side. I have been here many times and it progressively seems to be getting worse. They forget to bring things we ask for, and last time they brought my wife’s dish before they brought out mine,(10 min apart). Luckily she eats very slow so that was ok, but not really ideal. Also, last time I had a waiter that had a filthy uniform on. It looks like he rolled in the kitchen and came out to serve us. His finger nails were really gross too. Considering this is a very expensive place, this was very surprising. However, the foods is soo tasty and the view so amazing that I had to give it 4 stars. My recommendation to the manager, please be sure your staff is clean and provide the service you would expect from this kind of restaurant.

My husband and I came here while up in Bodega Bay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Earlier in the day we requested a table by the window which they said couldn’t be guaranteed but would try their best. When we arrived, not only did they have a table by the window but our only options were two tables tucked behind nooks in the corners of the restaurant with zero view of the water. The main highlight of this restaurant is the view but what’s the point if you see nothing? We opted to wait until a table was available that had somewhat of a view and were weirdly pushed by the hostess into the lounge next door to wait even though we just came from there. About 15 minutes later we sat at a table with two other tables between us and the window but at least could see a little bit of the water. We ordered oysters rockefeller to start which were ok. I ordered the Wild Salmon with Corn and my husband ordered the Pork Chop. The corn with my salmon was amazing but the salmon was slightly overcooked and fairly certain it was farmed salmon, not wild salmon based on its light pink color. My husband seemed to enjoy his Pork Chop but nothing special. Service was good during our meal but we were so frustrated by our experience before we sat down that we couldn’t fully enjoy our meal. Overall food was good but not exceptional. Not enough to make it worth coming back for.

One of our favorite breakfast spots. Real maple syrup for waffles and pancakes. Real jam for toast. Delicious omelettes. Fresh fruit substitutes for potatoes on request. Great service, and a lovely view of Bodega Bay and Doran Beach.

What is wrong with me??? How have I lived 20 minutes from this gem and never eaten here??? We stopped in for breakfast and almost forgot to eat because we were so captivated with the view. That is… Until our food came. I fell in love, love, love with the crab Benedict omelet. The hollandaise was perfect and it and with a ton of crab! The dish is served with incredible home style potatoes and a bread of your choice so for the price($ 17 I think) it’s a steal!(I apologize for not taking a pic but I couldn’t wait to dig in.) Our server Emma was a total doll and very accommodating and attentive. As a matter of fact the entire staff that we interacted with was lovely. I can’t wait to come back for dinner, and dessert, and breakfast again, and cocktails & apps at Drake’s Fireside Lounge(adjacently located — I believe the same executive chef operates this spot as well)!!!

I came in here on a whim on a Sunday night with my boyfriend. We didn’t have a reservation, and the hostess didn’t really know what to do. The manager was nearby and offered us a table in the fireside lounge, which was just an offshoot of the main restaurant room. I think it is meant to be a less fancy dining room, but it was perfect for us. Drake’s Fireside Lounge has it’s own smaller menu, but we were able to order from the larger Duck Club menu. I had a glass of Stemmler Pinot Noir and my boyfriend had a North Coast Old 38 Stout. We ordered the 3 Cheese option of the Local Artisan Cheese Board. It came on a beautiful piece of wood with some bread, a ramekin of honey, three cheeses of our choosing, grapes, and a three olives. I loved that they toasted and buttered the bread, also. We really enjoyed the cheeses we chose, which were the Estero Gold, the Bay Blue(both cow cheeses), and the Redwood Hill Smoked Cheddar(a goat cheese). Very good. I wished they put more than 3 olives on the board, though. That’s my favorite part. The board was $ 16 with the 3 cheese option. I ordered the Whole Milk Ricotta Gnocchi, the only vegetarian option presented on the Duck Club menu. The gnocchi seemed and tasted homemade, shaped into squares and browned on either side. They were chewy in a nice way, sitting in a garlicky veggie sauce. I would order that again, however I thought $ 20 was asking quite a bit for what I got. My boyfriend got the Bodega Burger medium with pepper jack and the Bay Blue cheese. It came with fries. I enjoyed the fries because they were salty and thin. That was $ 14. He says the burger was good, and cooked well. The entire meal felt a little over priced, and the service seemed to be lacking. I waited with my card and the check at the table for about 15, 20 minutes until I finally went to the bar to ask to have it closed out. We could’ve walked out without anyone saying anything! No one really came around to ask how everything was. We didn’t get the personalized experience we would have hoped for at a place like this. Maybe it was the semi-casual way we were dressed or the fact that we were a young couple, or maybe that we weren’t staying at the hotel. I would come try this place again but maybe make reservations.

Love this restaurant. My husband and I have come here on our date night during our annual Bodega Bay trip for the past three years. The food is always amazing. I LOVE the beet salad with the fried chèvre. Every entrée we have tried has been on point and the sides are equally good. Great local/fresh produce. The restaurant feels cozy, but not crowded and upscale without feeling snooty. The view is beautiful– try to get a window table. My only complaint is that they charge for every soda refill — this is always an unwelcome surprise when the bill comes. I know this seems silly to worry about at a fine dining restaurant where dinner for two runs upwards of $ 100, but I would rather not spend $ 10 on diet coke…

To end Sonoma County Restaurant Week, we decided to try The Duck Club in Bodega Bay. I can’t believe they would put food out from their kitchen that looked and tasted like this. The flavor profiles didn’t match at all, pasta rague, that looked like a soup bowl buffet plate. No creativity at all. I though the the whole restaurant week was to showcase your restaurant with sample dishes to intise you back for better food. Not in this case. The best part of our meal was sitting at the fire pit outside after dinner. Good luck Duck Club

Great place to dine. Ordered the salmon which was cooked to perfection with grilled asparagus and purple potatoes. The grilled flat bread was a perfect starter but make sure to ordered the smoke salmon with it.

The best thing about a stay at the Bodega Bay Lodge is a «stay» at the Bodega Bay Lodge. By that I mean to say that when you get the opportunity to stay there you should lean into that experience and STAY there. They make it so easy. Leave the car parked in the lot. Bring a stack of books. Use the Lodge bicycles for a spin down to the beach. Grab a massage in the spa and a soak in the jacuzzi. And then, when you’re hungry, enter The Duck Club. The Duck Club might just be the best restaurant in the nearby vicinity so dining there is really no compromise. It’s got an ambiance so in keeping with the rest of the grounds that a visit won’t harsh your mellow. Enter to a serene room overlooking the bay and grasslands with an eastward view of the setting sun. A fireplace along one wall feels lodge-like but the vibe is more coastal comfort than mountain cabin. Service is exemplary and unobtrusive. Food is delivered, not fussed over. And the main thing is, the food is good; not exciting-good, just solid. The food enhances the surroundings and vice versa. I began dinner with fresh Tomales Bay Oysters($ 3 each) and an Oyster Rockefeller($ 3.50). Nothing says Sonoma Coast quite like icy fresh oysters. Let the evening begin. Next up, a Sonoma Coast Seafood Sampler($ 17; crab cake, salmon crostini, shrimp, etc.) followed by a Little Gem Salad($ 10) and a perfect salad of Roasted Organic Beets($ 11). The menu calls out ingredients as all good NorCal places do these days, naming the usual line-up of well-respected purveyors(e.g. Laura Chenel, Liberty Ducks, Cowgirl Creamery, and more). An ample King Salmon with Pesto Crust($ 32) was followed by a Fresh Fruit Crisp($ 8) which finished things off perfectly. Roll me down the lawn, I’m done. You could spend a lot of precious time scouring the area for a place as competent and satisfying as The Duck Club but why? It’s there and it does what it’s there for quite perfectly. And if you’re already at the Bodega Bay Lodge, lulled into a mellow state of bliss, I suggest you not even consider looking elsewhere. Everything you need or want is right before you. Lean in and enjoy everything this property has to offer. Note: The Duck Club is also open for breakfast.

We had two meals at Duck Club, dinner and breakfast. Overall we had a good experience at both of the meals. We had dinner reservations and arrived and were seated quickly by the big fireplace(not lit as it was a rather warm night). We could see the view from our table and it is quite a homey and comfortable feeling in the dining room. Not too upper crust and stuffy but just enough to be classy. We started with a bottle of Pappas All Black wine which was spicy and paired well with both our appetizers and entrees. We started with the crab cakes which I found delightful with a touch of indian spice and I loved the tomato relish(that’s what I’m going to call it) side that was served with them. We also had the duck lettuce cups which were full of umami and the flavors of sweet, savory, and a touch of spice. I liked how refreshing they were, sometimes with duck it can feel like a very heavy dish but this was light and savory. For our entrees I had the flat iron steak with heirloom tomatoes and potato cake. My husband had the duck. My steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned beautifully. I was hesitant about the tomatoes being paired with it(I’ve never seen that before) but it was actually a great combination with the cool sweet tomato and the warm savory steak. The potato cake was crunchy but nothing too special or to write home about. My husband loved his duck(he never gets it at home) and said that he really enjoyed the wine pairing with both of our dinners. For dessert we had the seasonal peach and raspberry crisp with ice cream and got a piece of the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting to go. The crisp was warm and a good pairing with the ice cream, although I found the peaches to be somewhat under ripe and sour. The cake was enjoyed later in the evening and was perfectly moist with just the right amount of frosting and chocolate flavor. Service was good, not great. Our waitress had a large swath of the dining room(they seem to have a small intimate staff) and she had some issues with following up on requests such as we asked for ice water twice before it was brought and we asked what the seasonal crisp was only to have the actual dessert delivered to our table rather than an answer. We had a great breakfast the next morning with on the spot service and a great view of the bay. I had the cheese omelet which was cooked perfectly, toast, and delicious home fries. My husband had the Duck Club’s version of Monte Cristo with their corn flake bedecked French toast and it was phenomenal with a fabulous blackberry sauce. Overall I found the Duck Club to be a fabulous restaurant and if I am ever in Bodega Bay again I will definitely revisit to try some of the other tempting choices on the menu.

Hotel restaurants are often suspect but no need to be suspect here. Ducks is an excellent restaurant attached to the Bodega Bay Lodge. If you are staying here just walk over for a great meal. No need to drive into town. Make a reservation though since its small and try to get one of the window seats overlooking the ocean. Had the crab cakes for appetizer. Came with a delicious sauce covering it. For main course we had the duck and tri tip steak. Meat was so tender that I ate the whole thing. I’m a small guy and I usually cant. Splurged for desert and had the strawberry pie. Came on a graham cracker crust and with whip cream. Was really good. Did not get any wine but did bring our own which they poured. Service was excellent! Bottom line, great meal served here. I would come in even if I wasn’t staying here.
