Wiseguy Pizza Pie

Great beer selection and good pizza by the slice. Their Metro pizza is definitely my favorite with Sriracha rubbed chicken and lemon peals. It’s only available by the slice on Friday though which is sad :(. They also do a jalapeño Hawaiian which is awesome. All around a good place to grab a slice. They only get four stars though because their pizza doesn’t have that addictive Crack quality to it that is necessary for a 5 star pizza joint.

Great location, superb pizza slice and great ice tea. Friendly staff. The outdoor seating is refreshing.

We arrived a little before 9pm on Monday night, after The Front Door had closed early. We still wanted Pizza!
Though they were closing in 5 minutes, they made us a pizza to go and we had a beer while it cooked. Great tap beer list, by the way! Manama Mosaic Eruption was delicious.
We ordered a Wise Guy — pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onion, and black olive, and added fresh tomato. It was pretty tasty, but would’ve been better if we had been able to eat it piping hot at the restaurant with a tap beer, instead of 10 minutes later in the hotel lobby.
I had a house salad — mostly lettuce, a few cult and tomato slices, red onion and not-​so-​yummy croutons. Stick with the pizza!

Like every sane person in the world, I love pizza. Could eat it daily. But on the hierarchy of pizza joints, wise guys doesn’t even come close to the top 10 list. On another note, the wings make up for the lack of flair for the pizza. Wings, yes. Pizza, no.

I was visiting family over Easter weekend in Boise and we decided to walk downtown and see what we could find. I had my three kids and wife with me. They are all 11 or under, so our options can be limited at times.
We decided to try Wise Guys Pizza. The atmosphere is hipsterish, but spacious. They offer many different pies, but we went with the usual pepperoni. My wife got a salad. Best part was 1 $ Raniers and Pabsts. Hey also had other craft brews on tap.
The pizza was decent. My wife loves the salad, it was packed with feta. The pizza was a thin slice, the crust was mostly crispy. The sauce was a little bland though. It arrived quickly however, so that was a plus with the kids. I heard some people talking about the lunch special that comes with a free beer.
Decent price, seemed like a good place to hang out and have some beer and pizza. We only tried pepperoni though, so keep that in mind. My wife thought it was pretty tasty.
Seemed to be a good place to go with kids. Staff was relaxed and friendly.

Best pizza in Boise Idaho! I recommend if you been drinking some beer and you’re craving some good ass pizza come to Wiseguys.

Ok, listen up you wise guys (and gals). get it, Wiseguy?
A pizza joint is hard to write a review about because, pizza is pizza and any normal person usually likes pizza. (If you don’t like it, that is ok, you are still normal.) What makes a pizza place standout to get 5 stars? Not sure but I left happy with my experience.
The thing I liked about Wiseguys was the unique flavors of pizza. There was a kettle chip pizza, a lemony zesty pizza, (I liked it but the person I was with didn’t so your satisfaction will probably vary from slice to slice), and then your traditional meat, veggy, and jalapeño zas.
The décor is fun and original! Pick up a slice for the go or order up for the stay but either way I think you will be fairly satisfied.
The reason I gave this fun hangout a 3 is because I did’t leave with a «wow, that was awesome!» feeling. It was more like, «Ya, that was pretty good pizza.»

Overall was a good experience. We went into the front and no one was there until we walked into the back. No big deal. Service was ok, forgot to ask for drinks or offer silverware.
Food was good, we had pizza and buffalo wings. Pizza was filling but not in a gross greasy way.

I was simply not impressed. My dad, brother and I ordered a pick up of a large fat guy and a large Greek and I was disappointed, especially after a pretty good experience at the Ketchum location. The service was fine for take out but I could get a better pizza at Pizza Hut.
Nothing tasted bad, in fact it barely tasted at all. I don’t care for meat on my pizza but there were so few toppings on the fat guy that it didn’t even phase me. Same deal with the Greek. In fact I brought half of the large Greek pizza home and forgot about it; and let me tell you I am not the kind of girl to forget about a pizza. It wasn’t awful but also not stunning. You probably won’t die if you eat here but you probably won’t be that stoked either.

Can I get a slice of pepperoni and 2 health code violations for dine in? Over an hour after I ate I was able to say good bye to some of the pizza’s that greeted me when I came in. (they should have been thrown out after an hour per code… Gross)
This is a hard order to fill in a lot of other places but here at Wise Guy’s they gladly deliver. In my quest to find the best NY pizza my travels took me to Guido’s and next here, in my previous post NY Giant came out on top but how did Wise Guy’s do? Let’s just say the atmosphere is way better than NY giant and Guido’s combined, (sports bar meets brick bistro)
First off BEST Coca Cola In the valley (carbon, water, syrup ratio is on point. Not that it matters)
— Price Again same problem as Guido’s the price is like we are in Manhattan not In Boise.
Size– Again it fits on the plate (paper plate) ½ the size of authentic NY pizza.
Flavor– I needed help so I consulted the 2 wise guys on painted on the wall, When I asked them how is my pizza bottom burnt yet the top looks barely cooked they were just as lost for wisdom as I was. (Oh well)
To make matters worse the pizza was bland and the cheese was a hard congealed mess, it was not stretchy as melted cheese should be. The sauce has some potential as I tasted it apart from everything else… so yay something good.
Overall–
My experience sitting in the big back room was that this place is run by a bunch of college guys, I watched one drink from his open container in the sight of all the customers. (against health code)
I spent over an hour dining here on purpose and making various phone calls. Now many reviews state the pizza tasted old and flavorless, I was curious if I would witness old pizza being sold and I did. Another cooking 101 pizza is 80 percent cooked, it then cooks the other 20% when you order. 80% cooked pizza sitting for more than an hour is breeding ground for bacteria and also strips cheese of the moisture giving it a non gooey texture.
NY Giant Still reigns as the best NY pizza in Boise

My second favorite place for pizza! WiseGuy offers super thin super crispy crusts with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. I typically go for plain or pepperoni. I love the outdoor space here and the service. If you like NY style pizza, stop on by!!!

I was lucky enough to stop by Wiseguy while on a weekend trip to Boise, and what a pleasant surprise. The building is cool and unique, the food and beer was delicious (great wings), and the staff was fantastic. I would love to visit again and have another slice of that White Trash Guy pizza!

The pizza was very bland and tasteless and didn’t compare well to the competition in the area. The place was not very clean or kept up. We were overall unimpressed.

This pizza was quite tasty, and substantially better than the other ‘by the slice’ competitor in town. I tried 3 different varieties, all of which were delicious. My girlfriend and I went on what appeared to be a calmer afternoon. They only drawback to this place, is that for 3 pieces at 11.00 (close to a full pizza), a little bit more freshness could be reasonably expected. Most of the pizzas looked like they had been waiting on the racks for quite some time. Perhaps this problem could be remedied by coming at a busier time, but fresh pizza should not be unreasonable at such a price. Overall, still tasted great, outdoor seating was nice, and staff was friendly, just wish they did not overstock so heavily on the pizza which then results in so many pies left to dry in the air.

Went here for lunch, very tasty and the price point is right on. They didn’t use a lot of sauce, thank you for that. You could taste the basil in the sauce, which I appreciate. The outside patio is very nice, especially during the beautiful summer days in Boise. I will be back.

If you want a good hot slice when your in down town this is the place to go. Always a good selection of slices and always hot and ready to go. There garlic knots are pretty amazing also. Wings are good but nothing write home about. Always freindly staff and a great little location just to hang out DT. do yourself a favor a drop in for a slice

Wise Guys is my go-​to pizza joint! The dough is thin, sweet, and delectable! The red sauce is savory and delicious. The toppings are fresh, fun and creative! I really enjoy sitting out on the patio, there are plenty of tables. I have tried a different pizza every time I go back and it’s never a let down. If you are seeking a pizza joint, Wise Guys is the place to go!
