Great food, fun atmosphere. There are a couple different parts of the restaurant, so check out the different rooms. Bookshelves line one wall, there are photos of celebrities and an overall american pub atmosphere. Burger was cooked perfectly. Waitress remembered orders for regulars. Friendly and attentive staff. Great french fry medallions– perfectly crispy. Went at lunch time during the week and service was fast. I would recommend the place and go back myself.

20 TVs that no one’s watching and you refuse to change one to NBC. I guess that type of service is why you have a low rating.

Extremely tentative staff in the front bar. Good food and music… but warning to anyone who wants a drink or food at the back bar. Female bartender named Nicole was very pretentious and rude to my friends and I. As a person who have worked in the service and hospitality industry, her response was completely unprofessional to my friends and I. Sure, it was close to 1:30am and I ordered a Tanqueray and tonic… And the bartender gave me house gin. Sure fine… But we told her, «Sorry, we ordered Tanqueray and tonic.» She was persistent in believing that she just heard«gin» and told us, «It’s too late because I already poured it.» The fact of the matter was not in anyway she used house gin… Is that she denied her patrons when they asked again and are solely there to have a good time and appreciate the staff. We felt the entire hour we were left there was full of smug stares and inattentive manner.

do not go here ! I can not believe what I was just subjected to! My brothers girlfriend was holding him from behind and laying her head on his shoulders and basically the secret service came to escort us out ! We were informed that you can not sleep in the bar… Really ?! I have never been treated like this ever before. I’m honestly not sure if it was because I was one of the only two black people in the facility or they really had a problem. They really made a huge scene in the middle of the bar.

Start with the negatives: The French Dip should be removed from the menu. Its microwaved deli roast beef on a crap roll with crap au jus. Waitress was asked if the French Dip was good and she recommended it. Do not get the French Dip. Positives: great seats by the windows with a nice breeze. Saw the nachos fron across the room, they looked amazing. Guinness was fresh, thank god. Salmon w/rice and veggies was very good. Their signature Dublin fries or whatever are a yummy alternative to french fries. Waitess was nice.

Came to Clarke’s for lunch at noon with a friend and instantly found a spot at the bar. Nice. We were greeted by a friendly Irish bartender and had our order taken. I got the chicken fajita wrap with fries. For the price, and the fact that it’s just an Irish pub. Not bad! I wish the wrap had been bigger and had more flavor, but it came with a side of salsa and sour cream, so not too much of an issue. Fries were bomb. Thin cut slices of fried potato. I’m a stickler for fries considering they’re so easy to make, yet so many places just fry up some basic shoestring ones. No bueno. Atmosphere was very relaxing actually and just what I needed at that time. Great experience, would go again.

I usually come here just about every Wednesday and Thursday after I get out of work for some dinner. First and foremost, their grilled salmon is simply AMAZING. Add some rice and fresh veggies with that, and you’ve got yourself something that is just short of a first-class meal, no exaggeration. Their burgers are of high quality as well, and I cannot say no to the chili dogs every once in a while. I also cannot get enough of the Dublin fries… YUM! As for the beer, well… one can say that it is fairly priced for Boston, and maybe a bit cheap compared to some of the other bars in the area. The staff are very friendly and attentive, but whenever it gets busy, they can really only do so much, so I think some of the people who bash on them for being«inattentive» are being a bit unfair. Besides, if you need a drink and they don’t appear to be too busy, just give them a shout, and they’ll be right over. Once they know who you are, you’re golden. However, I do not find this to be an ideal place to come on a Friday or Saturday night, when they not only have awful rap, pop and EDM trash playing, but blare it so loud that the bar vibrates! Not only that, but sometimes you will be treated to some of the«artists» horrible and sexually explicit«music» videos. Even a number of the bartenders say they can’t stand it, so that says a lot. Oh well, if that’s what they have to do to bring people in, I guess that’s how it is, considering today’s culture(or lack thereof). Overall, this is a great place to go to right after work for some dinner on a given weeknight, considering the quality of the food, the drinks and the super-nice staff, but not a good choice on a Friday or Saturday night if you have an extreme hatred of contemporary dance-based pop music, like me.

Clarke’s is always solid. We used to come here a lot when drinking with the office mates. The staff is always attentive and do a good job of making sure you have your drinks full. I would suggest the nachos for apps. So big and full of ingredients. Cannot tell you how good they are you just have to try them. The Blue burger here is always stellar. And the ravioli that comes in the sampler are dope!

Came to Boston for a weekend and stopped in here Saturday night. It gets pretty packed. I noticed a lot of people here specially the females were over dressed for this type of bar, but I’m assuming this is where majority of the locals go. I didn’t try the food, but when I do come back, I’d be back to try the food.

Went in to watch march madness at 1 this Friday. Place was Pretty busy yet they had ONE bartender on… ONE! This seems to happen there a lot the service ever time I go is mediocre at best. To get myself a beer took 7 – 8 minutes and then for her to take my order took another 10. My lunch break was almost over. And not to say this is her fault but this place ALWAYS understaffed. They don’t get it or their owner/manager doesn’t play attention to what day it is/events going on We ordered food and when it came we had to go after the old man who I assume is the owner if we could have silverware which he replied«we ran out you’ll have to wait»… Hm well that does it for me. 3rd time was enough at that bar especially with a million other awesome bars a stones throw away like Market, Coogans, Warehouse, Bell in Hand etc etc. Don’t waste your time and money at this place

About as non-descript as you can get for a bar. The drinks were good, but they always should be. The bathroom was so odd. Two urinals across from a toliet in one room. I guess I have the option of bottoming out while you watch me? Bonus drama for seeing some girl absolutely flip out at a guy and his ensuing, fruitless attempt to talk to her after.

Several friends and I have gotten food poisoning here. I work in public health and I firmly believe that the health department should shut this establishment down immediately. Additionally, I have been repeatedly disgusted by the sexual advances of the the bouncers on my female friends. That this has been allowed by the management is an egregious misstep. This is a blemish on the otherwise awesome bar scene in the Faneuil neighborhood.

Clark’s has not changed much over the years. Back in here last night for the first time on a long while. Expensive beers, good beer selection, decent service. Average.

We were having a fun night at trivia, and won second place. The trivia host informed us that our prize was $ 20 off our tab! Cool! UNTIL the waitress informed us with an attitude that there were enough competitors for prizes to be valid. WHAT? We paid full price and the manager did not even try to compromise nor was apologetic. What happened to being a good sport? This trivia night was fun but the bar treats its customers with no respect. Gee, I wonder why your trivia night wasnt well attended enough for prizes!

Our waitress last night, Franky, was outstanding! We had a large group of very thirsty friends, who kept her very busy, and she could not have done a better job. Outstanding customer service!

The bar. Meh. Music a little too loud. The blonde bartender thinks she’s a little too cute to be very friendly. Pass.

Coworkers and I first tried Clarke’s for Tuesday trivia because it was near to our office and starts at 6 — which is great because you’re out by 830 and home by a decent time for a worknight. What we discovered was a great trivia venue(despite the trivia host not alllllways knowing how to pronounce words in the question/answer) and surprisingly excellent food. Clarke’s may serve my favorite nachos in Boston. I love their Dublin French fries(they’re circular like coins)! Their staff never has issues accurately splitting our tab between 5 – 6 credit cards. Food to get: –As already mentioned, the nachos and fries are a must –Chicken tenders. Portion is good for the price –Grilled chicken sandwich. Mmmm with the bbq sauce. –Mozz sticks and pizzas are solid. –Fish & Chips. I don’t know how, but again, maybe the best I’ve had in Boston. Food to skip: –Potato skins. It isn’t that they’re bad, but for the price to portion size ratio, you’re better off getting almost any other app. –Fried ravioli. First time I saw this on the menu I thought ‘whoa, why haven’t I seen this before??’. First time I ate it, I figured out why. Disappointing. –Quesadillas. Again, they aren’t bad, they just aren’t particularly memorable; bland. I love the Clarke’s staff. Sometimes the place gets busy and they aren’t 100% attentive, but you can tell they’re busting their butts doing their best. Having been a former server, that’s all I expect. My 2 beefs with Clarke’s are: –Angry Orchard is on the menu but of the 10 – 15 times I’ve ordered one, they’ve had it in-house three times(I swear I am not exaggerating). Either start ordering more cases, or take if off the menu — every time I get my hopes up and then don’t get one, I die a little inside. –No dessert. Not even ice cream or some cheesecake served from a box. Sometimes a girl needs dessert. My trivia-mates are so effing sick of me saying ‘WHY doesn’t Clarke’s have dessert!!!’ Seriously. I’d buy it. Every time.

Clarkes! Full discloser, I know one of the managers and have some friends who have worked here in the past, so I do have a biased opinion. I think the staff works hard at their jobs, and I believe they’re there to do their job, not necessarily to be chummy with the crowd. Drinks? Very good, well made! I usually ask for brand name alcohol, so my drinks taste good. I can’t speak as much to the well vodka/gin/rum/etc. It’s usually very busy here on Saturday nights. On other nights of the week, it can be quiet. Some guys in the crowd can be grabby, so ladies, watch out! Know that these post-college jerks can’t keep their hands to themselves, so be prepared to use your elbows. They keep the bathrooms clean, and they’re nicely designed. For that alone they deserve 5 stars.

I used to work near State St so Clarkes was one of the default lunch/after work destinations. The food here is not bad for bar food in the middle of a tourist attraction. I really like the steak tips and the tuna arugula salad. Also, some people seem to be a fan of their burgers. A few more pros & cons: Pros: –Service is usually quick –Large selection of food for any occasions(lunch, after work, late night) –They sometimes play good music late at night –Great bar to watch games as they have several tvs inside Cons: –Wish they have a better/more interesting beer menu –The salmon dish is often overcooked
